MHA to facilitate career progression of ex-Agniveers

SSC GD Result 2025 out: The Staff Selection Commission has declared the results of Constable (GD) examination on Monday, June 17, 2025. Candidates who appeared in the written exam for Constable (GD) in Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs) and SSF, Rifleman (GD) in Assam Rifles, and Sepoy in Narcotics Control Bureau can check their results on the official website at Candidates will need to enter their Application Number and Password to check their results. The commission had conducted the exam in computer-based test (CBT) mode from February 4 to February 25, 2025. The test carried a total of 160 marks (80 questions, 2 marks each), and candidates were allowed 60 minutes to complete the exam. The SSC GD written test was held in English, Hindi and 13 Regional languages: Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Konkani, Malayalam, Manipuri, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu and Urdu. Following this, the provisional answer key was released on March 4 and the objection window was closed on March 9, 2025. The commission reviewed the objections, and those found valid were used to prepare the final answer key. Notably, through recruitment drive, the commission aims to fill 39,481 Constable (GD) vacancies in Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs) and SSF, Rifleman (GD) in Assam Rifles, and Sepoy in Narcotics Control Bureau. SSC CPO 2025: The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has postponed the notification release date for the Sub Inspector in Delhi Police and Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) or SSC CPO 2025 recruitment examination citing 'administrative reasons'. It was scheduled to be released on June 16. Contribute Now New Delhi: In a massive haul of arms, the Manipur police and security forces recovered 328 guns, including sophisticated rifles, on the intervening night of June 13 and 14 in the five districts of the Imphal valley. This included 151 SLR rifles, 65 INSAS rifles, 73 unspecified rifle types, five carbine guns, two MP5 guns, 12 light machine gun rifles, six AK series rifles, two Amogh rifles, one mortar, six pistols, two barrels, an AR15 gun and two flare guns as well as hundreds of rounds of ammunition. The police acted on intelligence inputs about the presence of a large cache of arms and ammunition hidden in different areas of the Imphal valley districts, it said in a statement. 'These intelligence-based operations mark a major achievement for the Manipur police and the security forces in their continued efforts to restore normalcy, maintain public order and ensure the safety and security of citizens and their property,' the Manipur police said. The weapons were recovered after simultaneous search operations were conducted at different locations by joint teams of the Manipur police, the Central Armed Police Forces, the army and the paramilitary Assam Rifles. The state's five valley districts are Imphal East, Imphal West, Bishnupur, Thoubal and Kakching. The Imphal valley is predominantly Meitei. A police official said that the recoveries include looted police weapons, The Hindu has reported. Since ethnic violence first broke out in Manipur on May 3, 2023, about 6,000 weapons and lakhs of rounds of ammunition were looted from police armouries. Since May 2023, more than 250 people have been killed and over 60,000 have been displaced. The state remains deeply divided, with physical and social barriers separating communities – members of the Kuki-Zo community are unable to enter the capital, Imphal, while Meiteis cannot travel to the hill districts. 328 firearms, explosives seized in overnight security operation in Manipur
Security forces across five valley districts of Manipur recovered a cache of 328 firearms along with large quantities of ammunition and explosive materials. The operation was carried out on the midnights of June 13 and 14 based on specific intelligence inputs, Manipur Director General of Police (DGP) seized arms include 151 SLR rifles, 65 INSAS rifles, 73 other rifles, 5 carbine guns, 2 MP5 guns, 12 LMG rifles, 6 AK-series rifles, 2 Amogh rifles, 1 AR-15 rifle, 1 mortar, 6 pistols, 2 gun barrels, and 2 flare addition to the firearms, the forces recovered 591 assorted magazines and thousands of rounds of ammunition, including 3,534 SLR rounds, 2,186 INSAS rounds, 2,252 .303 rounds, 234 AK rounds, 407 Amogh rounds, and 20 9mm rounds. Explosive materials seized during the operation included 10 grenades, three Lathodes, seven detonators, and three para shells. Joint teams of Manipur Police, Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs), the Indian Army, and the Assam Rifles launched search operations targeting areas on the outskirts of the valley districts. Acting on credible information regarding the presence of illegal weapons, the teams conducted extensive searches, leading to one of the largest arms recoveries in recent police termed the operation a significant breakthrough in efforts to restore stability in Manipur, which has been grappling with ethnic and political unrest since May intelligence-based operations mark a significant achievement in our commitment to maintain public order and protect the lives and properties of citizens,' the DGP's office police officials are reportedly working closely with all security stakeholders to sustain and expand such operations. Authorities have urged citizens to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities or information regarding illegal arms to the nearest police station or the Central Control Room.
