Motorcyclist, 40s, dies at scene of horror crash with car in Monaghan as investigators make urgent appeal for witnesses
A MAN has died after a horror crash between a car and motorcycle in Monaghan this afternoon. The fatal crash happened on the R190 at Upon arrival they found a motorcyclist, aged in his 40s, in critical condition. Despite the best efforts of the emergency services the biker was pronounced dead at the scene. His body was then removed from the scene to the mortuary at Cavan General Hospital. Read more in News The local coroner has been notified and arrangements will be made for a post-mortem examination. The R190 between Ballybay and Cootehill has been closed to allow for an examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators. Local traffic diversions are in place. Gardai are appealing for witnesses to the incident to come forward. Most read in The Irish Sun A spokesperson said: "Gardai in Co Monaghan are appealing for witnesses following a fatal road traffic collision involving a car and a motorcycle on Monday, 16 June 2025. "At around 1:20pm, Gardai were alerted to a collision on the R190 at Lisnalong. Gardai and RSA measures aimed at driving crash deaths on Irish roads "The motorcyclist, a man aged in his 40s, was pronounced dead at the scene and his body has been removed to the mortuary at Cavan General Hospital. Cavan: Two injured, one seriously, in E-Scooter collision
Two boys have been injured, one seriously, in a road traffic incident involving an e-scooter in County incident occurred on the N87 near Black Ridge roundabout at approximately 19:15 local time on Tuesday of the boys was airlifted to Temple Street Children's Hospital with serious second boy, believed to be aged in his teens, was taken to Cavan General Hospital, with non-life threatening injuries. The road was closed for a technical examination and has since (Irish police) said investigations into the incident are ongoing.
