Next's 'pretty' table lamp ideal for lighting up corners without plug sockets
If you have an area with no socket which needs a bit of brightening up, this lamp can help
If you live in a house with a dearth of plug sockets you'll know the struggle. Extension cables are needed just to get that electricity supply to where you want it to be, and that can result in an unsightly jumble of wires in your room.
It means that lighting up some corners can be more difficult - but Next have a stylish and practical solution to that problem. Their Confetti Glass Rechargeable Wireless Table Lamp not only looks great, but it doesn't require a plug socket to bathe your room in light.
You can transform your space for just £45 with this lamp, which features a white glass shade and a brushed gold base, perfect for adding a touch of luxury to your surroundings.
And it can be moved around too without faffing with cables because once charged, the lamp will emit light for five to eight hours, according to the retail giant.
It comes with a USB charging cable and one buyer said the "lovely little lamp" is versatile as it can be moved to any room in the house easily, reports the Liverpool Echo.
It's 20cm wide and 23.5cm tall while the brass base is 11cm across and boasts that the LED non replaceable bulb saves 90 per cent energy and therefore cuts electricity costs too.
Another rechargeable lamp with a similar look to the Next option, is the Cassia Pressed Glass Rechargeable Touch Dimmable Table Lamp from Dunelm. It's retailing at £40 and also comes with a three-stage touch feature so users can set the mood accordingly.
There's also the Ayla Origami LED Rechargeable Wireless Lamp from Dusk. It is the most affordable out of the three as it is currently on sale for £35 - and you can take another 15 per cent off when using the code EXTRA15 at checkout before midnight on Thursday, May 8.
But, for shoppers who still have the Next Confetti Glass Lamp is still top of the list, note that other customers say it is "easy to assemble" and "very pretty".
Someone wrote:"I bought this lamp for the corner of my lounge which has no electric sockets, it's a beautiful lamp the light it gives off is really bright and it is easy to charge and it last for hours. So impressed I have bought another one."
And another person agreed, adding: "Great little lamp for corners that have no plug socket, really pretty and easy to charge up."
A third shopper said: "This lamp is perfect for the areas that don't have socket outlets but need light. Easy to charge and lasts quite a long time. Also, very stylish."
There is, however, some debate over the brightness of the lamp. Some customers found it "a bit too bright" with one knocking a star off their review as a result.
Homewares deal of the week
With summer on the horizon, you'll be wanting to spend more time in your garden relaxing.
To help keep you protected from harmful UV rays, a stylish parasol can really refresh your outdoors space. Fortunately, Asda has just bought back its sell-out item that shoppers can't stop raving over.
The supermarket's highly coveted Riviera Stripe Parasol was so popular when it first launched in 2024 that it apparently "sold out in nine weeks." Now, it can be yours for just £59 when you buy it here.
The supermarket's summer garden staple is said to "bring a slice of the Riviera into any garden" thanks to its trendy striped canopy and intricate tassel edging that offers a "boho touch" to the design.
It's not just a stylish addition to your garden, as the FSC-certified wood pole has a lean function that allows you to tilt the canopy whenever you feel the position sun shift. Meanwhile, the polycotton canopy is said to be "weatherproof", making it suitable for unpredictable UK summers.
Since the Riviera Stripe Parasol sold out within just over two months last year, it's expected that it will be popular once again this year. It's also no surprise to hear that it has managed to amass glowing five-star reviews on the George at Asda website.
One delighted customer wrote: "I'm blown away by how amazing this product is. I've been wanting to get a patterned parasol with a boho touch for a while, but unwilling to spend the £150+ that they normally are. I thought I'd give this one a go, but didn't expect much for the price.
"It is exactly what I wanted. Furthermore it also tips and has a lovely case. It is stylish, good, waterproof fabric and looks like something you would get from a much fancier, 'bespoke' store. I could not recommend it more."
The Riviera Stripe Parasol can be bought online at George at Asda for £59 here.
Shoppers will have to remember to recharge the table lamp every so often, but customers confirm that charging the lamp isn't an issue, with one person saying: "Delighted with this purchase. My daughter bought me the vase to match. It's not a bright light but is adequate for my small hallway. It does need charging periodically but this has not been a problem. It is admired by visitors."
Someone else said: "Great lamp. Bigger and more substantial than expected. Once charged, it lasts a reasonable time. Throws a lovely pattern on the ceiling too. Glass is a nice weight not flimsy. Love it."
The sophisticated table lamp has an expensive feel to it, but priced at £45, shoppers can snap up two for under £100. They could be a good option as bedside table lamps.
