Man re-enacts Blues Brothers scene with LandCruiser in Melbourne shopping centre

A man who tore through Melbourne's Northland shopping centre yesterday in a stolen Toyota LandCruiser 200 Series has been arrested. Police allege the 27-year-old East Melbourne man crashed through the shopping centre while evading police, after centre security notified police of the stolen vehicle at around 4:00pm yesterday (June 18). When the driver returned to his stolen vehicle, police tried to block him in but he allegedly evaded them by driving through the middle of the shopping centre. Hundreds of new car deals are available through CarExpert right now. Get the experts on your side and score a great deal. Browse now. Multiple people captured footage of the incident on their phones, though fortunately nobody was struck by the vehicle. One person was, however, treated for shock. Footage shows shoppers running to get out of the way of the speeding vehicle, including a mother and child. The vehicle was subsequently dumped in Northcote, with police finding it at around 5:10pm. Victoria Police says the vehicle had been stolen from an Ivanhoe East address on June 2, and believe an electronic key reprogramming tool was used to carry out the theft. The alleged thief was arrested at 8:30am this morning, and the reprogramming tool was seized. Victoria Police says it's not looking for anyone else in relation to the incident. The episode was reminiscent of a scene in the hit 1980 film The Blues Brothers, in which the protagonists crash through a shopping centre while being pursued by police. Northland Shopping Centre is open for trading today. 2025 Kia Tasman drive-away pricing detailed

After detailing recommended retail prices for its first ute in April, Kia has now published a list of drive-away prices for the all-new dual-cab range. The 2025 Kia Tasman lineup will open at $42,990 before on-road costs or $46,490 drive-away for the entry-level S 4×2 dual-cab pickup. The range tops out at $77,990 drive-away for the X-Pro 4×4. Hundreds of new car deals are available through CarExpert right now. Get the experts on your side and score a great deal. Browse now. Thus far, Kia has only published pricing for the dual-cab pickup, which will be the only body style available when customer deliveries begin in July. Dual-cab/chassis variants will follow in August, followed by single-cab/chassis versions in late 2025. Pricing, either with or without on-road costs, has yet to be announced for these derivatives. Compared to the most affordable single-turbo, dual-cab 4×2 pickup version of the top-selling Ford Ranger, the base dual-cab 4×2 Tasman pickup is more affordable. Based on a New South Wales post code, the Ranger XL Double Cab 4×2 pickup costs $49,734 drive-away. Likewise, the Toyota HiLux WorkMate 4×2 Hi-Rider dual-cab pickup is more expensive than the base Tasman at $49,988 drive-away in NSW, though you can get the popular ute with petrol power and a lower ride height for less than the base Tasman. However, a Ranger Wildtrak Double Cab 4×4 pickup with the 2.0-litre bi-turbo diesel four-cylinder engine is priced at $76,883 drive-away, which makes it more affordable than the flagship Tasman X-Pro. A Toyota HiLux Rogue can be had for $77,499 drive-away, also undercutting the top Tasman. You can also get a Ranger Sport with the optional turbo-diesel V6 for around $600 more in NSW than a four-cylinder Tasman X-Pro. There's only one other Korean ute available in Australia, the KGM Musso. Available only with four-wheel drive and a dual-cab pickup body style, the Musso is priced from $38,000 to $46,500 drive-away. All Tasmans are powered by a 2.2-litre turbo-diesel four-cylinder engine producing 154kW of power and 440Nm of torque, mated with an eight-speed automatic transmission. You can view a detailed overview of the Tasman lineup in our price and specs article. Honda Super EV concept: Electric city car looks almost production ready

Honda will unveil the Super EV concept at this year's Goodwood Festival of Speed, and the tiny electric hatchback looks almost ready to roll down the factory line. The company has so far only released one photo of the car, wrapped in disguise, crossing Westminster Bridge in front of the UK's Houses of Parliament. In recent times most of Honda's concepts have previewed production cars that are about a year or two from launch, such as the Prelude, which come out as a concept in 2023 and will go for a run up the hill at Goodwood in production form this year. The Super EV looks to fit into this mould with its production-ready full-size wing mirrors, fully-framed windows, functioning door handles, and reasonably-sized wheel and tyre combo. The only show car element that might be dropped in the transition to the showroom are the concept's wide and chunky wheel-arches. Hundreds of new car deals are available through CarExpert right now. Get the experts on your side and score a great deal. Browse now. The Super EV is described by Honda as an A-segment model, meaning that it will compete against the upcoming all-electric Renault Twingo in Europe. It may even fall within kei car dimensions – a maximum of 3.4m long and 1.48m wide – which would allow it to be sold in Japan with lower taxes and road charges. Thanks to its round headlights, the Super EV's styling even fits into the template used by Honda's N family of kei cars, such as the N-One (above). Honda says the concept marries "fun-to-drive" with "trademark Honda usability", and has been out and about in the UK as part of its global development program. There's no word yet on the Super EV's drivetrain details, but hopefully it will be more competitive than the Honda E hatchback (above), which earned plaudits for its retro styling, but failed largely due to its pricing and limited range. Equipped with a 35.5kWh battery and a 100kW or 113kW motor driving the front wheels, the E had a WLTP range rating of just 222km. The 2025 Goodwood Festival of Speed takes place between July 10 and 13. Mercedes-Benz GLE and GLS recalled

Mercedes-Benz is recalling a handful of GLE and GLS large SUVs due to an issue that could prevent their safety technologies from working properly. "Due to a manufacturing defect, the multi-purpose camera and/or the interior rear-view mirror on the windscreen may not have been bonded correctly and could detach," the company says in its recall notice. "If this occurs, the advanced driver assistance systems may not operate as intended and the driver's rear vision may be impaired. "A loss of these systems or an impaired rear vision could increase the risk of an accident, causing serious injury or death vehicle occupants, other road users and any persons located behind the vehicle."
