When the coach arrived, the goal was to qualify for the Champions League, so he fully deserved to be confirmed. He made a great impression on us,' the defender said. 'He helped us through a tricky moment when there was no time for experiments. We just had to achieve our objective, so he focused a lot on the mental aspect and did an excellent job. Now things will be different. We'll have a preseason with him and will be able to work more on tactics. We've already had a taste of it. We're all very happy to continue with him.' Milan want Cambiaso from Juventus for Allegri reunion

Sky Sport Italia claim Milan and new coach Max Allegri are looking to Juventus full-back Andrea Cambiaso to replace Theo Hernandez, though he remains a target for Manchester City too. Multiple sources are reporting this evening that Theo Hernandez is ready to accept the huge €18m per season salary on offer from Al-Hilal. Advertisement With that in mind, the Rossoneri need a replacement, and the latest name on the list as per Sky Sport Italia transfer pundit Gianluca Di Marzio is Cambiaso. EPA-EFE/DANIEL DAL ZENNARO The 25-year-old Italy international will certainly not be cheap, as he was the subject of a reported €50m proposal from Manchester City in January. Their interest has waned a little since then, largely due to his form being affected by a recurring injury problem. Milan confirm Allegri's return to the club. Allegri worked with the Italian at Juventus and is eager to reunite with him at San Siro, though it would be a tricky deal to get completed. Cambiaso is a product of the Genoa youth academy who joined Juventus in 2022 for €13.3m, flourishing on loan at Bologna and then going from strength to strength in Turin.

How Juventus Left Serie A Race For Champions League Places Wide Open

After being held to a 1-1 draw by Bologna, Juventus have left the race for UEFA Champions League Places in Serie A wide open as four teams finished the weekend within one point of each other. While Napoli and Inter are battling for the Scudetto, Atalanta trail them in third place but have a healthy five point lead over the trailing pack. Juve remain fourth but, like AS Roma and Lazio below them have 63 points, with sixth-placed Bologna now on 62 points with just three games remaining. The trip to Bologna had been a crucial opportunity for the Bianconeri to separate themselves from that group, but a heavy injury list severely weakened the options available to Igor Tudor. Arek Milik, Dusan Vlahovic and Teun Koopmeiners were among that number, while Kenan Yildiz was suspended, yet the real issues were in defence. Gleison Bremer, Juan Cabal, Federico Gatti and Lloyd Kelly were all out, forcing Nicoló Savona into a role as a makeshift central defender. Yet Juve dominated the early exchanges and took the lead after just nine minutes. Andrea Cambiaso cut in from the right and moved across the field, eventually rolling the ball out to Khephren Thuram. The midfielder took a touch, then lashed a left footed effort from outside the area which bounced just in front of Lukasz Skorupski, the goalkeeper misjudging his dive and looking on as it found the back of the net. Nico Gonzalez should've done better when Cambiaso put him through on goal, and it was then that Bologna began to come back into the tie. Thijs Dallinga wasted a great chance before Riccardo Orsolini drew a great save from Michele Di Gregorio and Weston McKennie got away with a clumsy challenge on Remo Freuler. Gonzalez then had a goal ruled out for offside, Kolo Muani wasted a great chance and then the flag ruled out yet another effort from the hugely effective Cambiaso who was consistently causing Bologna problems. Yet after Juventus had squandered countless chances to double their lead, they were pegged back, Remo Freuler's effort deflecting off Renato Veiga to level the scores at 1-1. Things went from bad to worse for Juve as Cambiaso – who has recently been linked with a high profile move to Liverpool as a replacement for Trent Alexander-Arnold – limped off with an injury. All of that means the battle for the final Champions League qualification spot will go down to the wire, and Juve boss Igor Tudor says his side will be ready for a crucial encounter with sixth-placed Lazio. 'There are three games left and we are still fourth, albeit level on points. We go to Lazio with confidence, then there's Udinese and Venezia,' the Coach told DAZN. 'I said before kick-off that whatever the result, nothing will be decided tonight. I' m saying the same against Lazio, one game cannot decide everything when there are so many teams crammed together in a few points. 'At the end of the day, the fixtures that seem easier on paper might be the most difficult. Everyone is challenging for something at this stage of the season, especially the last against Venezia."

Man City and Liverpool set to battle in the race to sign £60m Juventus defender

Cambiaso's Juventus Rift Signals Summer Shake-Up Amid Premier League Interest Juventus Back in Control, But Questions Linger With a 2-0 win over Monza and Bologna's draw in Udine, Juventus have regained control of their Champions League destiny. Three wins from the last four would secure a top-four finish – a financial and footballing lifeline after a turbulent season. It would be, in the club's words, 'pure oxygen' for a project still recovering from last summer's transfer missteps. Advertisement However, not everything is harmonious at Continassa, suggest reports from CalcioMercato. Despite the prospect of European football and financial relief, 'all, or almost all, except Andrea Cambiaso' look set to stay. That carefully worded caveat speaks volumes. 'The feeling is that something has broken between the full-back of the Italian National Team and the Old Lady.' Photo IMAGO Premier League Eyes Cambiaso as Guardiola Circles Again Giovanni Bia, Cambiaso's agent, was characteristically candid on Radio Kiss Kiss: 'Guardiola wanted him, Juventus will explain what happened, I tell you that everything that has been written in relation to the deal is true.' It's a bold claim that throws open the January dealings between Juventus and Manchester City. Advertisement City's interest hasn't waned. 'Pep Guardiola has not given up on the former Genoa player. With an offer of 40/45 million the deal can go through, this time for real.' The next few weeks could see the door finally open. Yet there's a warning too – 'Watch out for Liverpool's candidacy,' with Trent Alexander-Arnold widely rumoured to be Real Madrid-bound. Juventus Plan for Life Without Cambiaso Cristiano Giuntoli's recent due diligence on Maxim De Cuyper is no coincidence. The 24-year-old Belgian, praised for his Champions League exploits and 'excellent physical structure,' has quickly become a priority. Milan may rival Juve for his signature, especially if Theo Hernandez departs, but Turin appears to be moving decisively. 'Juventus has moved early, sending a clear signal: the club is already working on the post Cambiaso.' Strategic Rebuild or Missed Opportunity? Letting Cambiaso go – just as he matures into a top-level wing-back – may seem shortsighted, especially if his destination is a direct Champions League rival. Juventus must balance books, but losing a player Guardiola and Slot admire is a risk. If Champions League qualification is the prize, stability and retention should be the currency. Our View – EPL Index Analysis Liverpool fans are right to feel a ripple of excitement. With Trent Alexander-Arnold's Real Madrid move increasingly likely – even if still publicly denied – the Anfield hierarchy must move quickly and smartly. Andrea Cambiaso fits the mould: Italian pedigree, high technical ceiling, and already comfortable in a top European side. The fact that Guardiola wanted him in January is a green flag. Slot needs a ball-playing full-back who can tuck into midfield and Cambiaso ticks that tactical box. Advertisement 'With an offer of 40/45 million the deal can go through, this time for real.' If that's accurate, it's good value in today's market. Liverpool's new era under Slot is about vertical football and tactical fluidity. Cambiaso isn't just cover – he's potentially the future starting right-back in a post-Trent world. That said, fans will remain wary. It's one thing to be linked, another to act decisively. Liverpool hesitated in the January window, and they can't afford to be second to Manchester City again. Cambiaso may be Juventus' problem today, but he could be Liverpool's solution tomorrow. As one fan forum put it: 'Let's not scout for City. Act before they do.'

Liverpool could replace experienced player with smart €45m transfer

The Italy international has shone in Serie A and it now seems he's on the radar of Premier League giants Liverpool and Manchester City. That's according to a report from Calciomercato, which also states that Cambiaso could be available for a fee in the region of €45m. Advertisement Capable of playing either right-back or left-back, Cambiaso looks like an attractive option on the market, and like someone who could have a key role to play in Arne Slot's squad. Liverpool need to replace Trent Alexander-Arnold this summer, and Andrea Cambiaso could be the ideal candidate Andrea Cambiaso of Juventus (Photo by) It won't be easy, but LFC need to replace Trent Alexander-Arnold this summer, with the Reds right-back about to be a free agent as he nears the end of his contract. The England international is one of the very finest right-backs in the world, and that's sure to be a priority position for the club to fill as he looks set to move on. Advertisement Cambiaso might not be quite in that same league just yet, but he's an intelligent player and can also play left-back, which would be useful as Andrew Robertson looks past his peak. Andrea Cambiaso could do well to join this ever-improving Liverpool team Liverpool would surely be a tempting option for a player like Cambiaso, with the 25-year-old likely to be keen on winning the biggest trophies in the game. The Merseyside giants have just won the Premier League title, and will surely be in the race for that trophy and others like the Champions League again next year. They certainly look closer to dominating both domestically and in Europe than this Juve side, so this could be an important step up for Cambiaso.
