Our favorite product releases this week: Bowers & Wilkins, Calpak, Spigen and more
It's Friday, and that means that we get to end the week by looking back at our editors' favorite product launches from the last seven days. Whether you're just hoping to keep up to date with the latest and greatest releases or are looking to shop them, we've highlighted nine of the most notable drops from around the web. To close out the week, our deals team of Rikka Altland, Jacqueline Saquin and Elena Matarazzo scoured the web to find the best new product drops. This week brings the launch of a fresh pair of Bowers & Wilkins headphones, a new kids collection from Calpak and a retro-inspired Spigen Apple Watch charger. These editor-favorite headphones just got better Move over, AirPods Max. There's a new contender for best over-ear headphones. Bowers & Wilkins has been making some of Altland's favorite headphones for years. Its Px7 lineup has recently been delivering the best headphones money can buy (in her eyes), and now there's a new addition to the collection. The third-generation S3s hit the scene with notable improvements over the pair that Altland has been daily driving for nearly a year. They still share the same design as previous editions, just with a sleeker build. You can still choose between three colors: black, white and Rikka's favorite, blue. Battery life remains consistent at 30 hours, as well. What changes? There's Bluetooth 5.3, Auracast support and better active noise cancellation. Those new additions pale in comparison to the improved sound quality that makes these a treat to listen to. Altland has spent the past week with the Px7 S3 and is blown away by how rich and full the sound is. Yes, better than AirPods Max and Sony's XM series. You'll have to pay a premium to enjoy that best-in-class sound, as each pair goes for $449 at retailers like Amazon. That's on par with what Apple and Sony charge for their latest headphones, so it's not entirely out of this world. Altland's final take: If sound quality matters more than ANC, the Px7 S3 are the headphones to buy. Outfit little travelers from classroom to vacation School's out, which means it's time for family vacations with your little ones. In time for your travels, a kids collection landed at the staffer-loved luggage brand, Calpak. CNN Underscored's deals editor Jacqueline Saguin exclusively travels with the Luka Expandable Laptop Tote — be it weekend trips or trips abroad — because of its ample storage pockets and durable puffy shell. Launched on June 19, the Calpak Kids Collection kits out little ones for every adventure, including classrooms, summer camps and trips. That includes backpacks in three different sizes for ages 3 to 12, starting at $68. From $12, snag lunch bags, pencil cases and for an added touch of personality, adorable plush charms that span pizza, flower, dinosaur, rainbow, donut and more shapes. Any purchase also includes two free ice packs to stow in their lunches. The collection was designed in collaboration with parents on the Calpak team, incorporating thoughtful features such as reflective safety strips, discreet interior name tags and even a dedicated pocket for stashing AirTags in case backpacks get left behind. Match with your little one: The entire line comes in Calpak's signature color palette of Black, Blue, Orchid Pink, Yellow Bloom and Khaki. Minimize oil but keep a dewy glow A lightweight moisturizer for summer has finally arrived. Tatcha created an alternative to its bestselling The Dewy Skin Cream, which is thicker and perfect for slugging on dry skin, and made a creamy fluid version. The Dewy Milk Moisturizer is geared towards combination to oily skin, which means it's suitable for those who sweat more during the hotter months. Our associate editor, Elena Matarazzo, is skin care obsessed and appreciates Tatcha's commitment to a glowing, dewy finish while also combating things like skin oiliness. Tons of brands mattify their products when trying to do so, but Tatcha proves that you can improve skin texture, oil production and more while keeping that dewy finish. A little goes a long way here, and its velvety moisturizer quickly absorbs into the skin with just one to two pumps. Its ingredient list is packed with antioxidant-forward powerhouses like green tea extract, zinc and Japanese purple rice. This product is light enough to layer with SPF and makeup, and it will become your new favorite way to hydrate all season long for $64. Charge your fitness tracker in retro style Spigen's retro Apple accessories are some of Altland's favorite gadgets on the market. From iPhone cases inspired by old school iMacs to charging stands based around the original Macintosh, there's so much charm packed into these functional products. The newest from Spigen, its Classic C1 Charger Stand for Apple Watch, perfectly picks up where previous additions to its stable have left off. It's based on the Apple iMac G3 from 1998, bringing those same vibes right to your Apple Watch charger. The accessory is a dock for the charging cable that came with your fitness tracker, but it keeps the cord in place on your nightstand or desk. It lets you take advantage of the Apple Watch's Nightstand mode that turns it into an alarm clock of sorts and even comes in iMac G3's original Bondi Blue color, plus two other vibrant colors. Altland will be buying one of these $35 stands for herself. Summer-proof your skin Like every other beauty product from the celebrity-founded brand, Rhode's Glazing Mist launch is in high demand. There's already a waitlist started for its latest addition that goes live on June 24. Beyond the buzz, though, the new facial spray proves to be a worthy addition to sensitive skin care routines. The Glazing Mist boasts a fine mist that dries into a glowy, glazed finish that the brand's founder, Hailey Bieber, is known for. That's all thanks to key ingredients like a trifecta of ceramides that help restore the skin barrier, a soothing form of vitamin B5 (often used in moisturizers) and an amino acid to bind water molecules to skin for hydration during these hot, summer months. It also touts a fragrance-free, dermatologist-tested and ophthalmologist-tested formula while receiving the National Eczema Association's Seal of Acceptance, which verifies that the ingredients used are safe for eczema-affected skin types. As someone who has suffered from facial and body eczema since childhood, Saguin appreciates Rhode's sibling products, like the Glazing Milk, which delivers a hydrating feel and finish. For $30, toss its 2.7-ounce bottle into your purse, gym bag and more for refreshing on-the-go spritzes. Bold prints and hues to liven up your home Bring the beauty of the tranquil English countryside into your space with Ruggable's new collaboration with Alice Naylor-Leyland, or more commonly known as the face behind Mrs. Alice. She's an interior designer, entrepreneur, blogger and contributing editor at Vogue for fashion and lifestyle pieces. Matarazzo has been waiting for this collection to drop and has hand-picked four of her favorite designs below. Two things on her list currently are a doormat and a runner for her hallway and dressing area. Ruggable x Mrs. Alice Bettina Bow Doormat Add a bit of whimsy to the outside of your front door with this adorable bow adorned mat. It comes in a standard and estate size for larger homes. Ruggable x Mrs. Alice Audrey Blue Flatwoven Rug Brighten up living and bedroom spaces with a pop of blue. This dreamy monochromatic rug doubles as a work of art. Ruggable x Mrs. Alice Skye Blue Multicolor Rug This thick tufted rug will impress house guests during your next gathering with its intricate pattern. Choose from an area rug, runner and even round design. Ruggable x Mrs. Alice Garden Party Blue Flatwoven Rug Put down this white-based rug with no hesitation. Its kid- and pet- friendly fabric can handle the toughest messes with its machine washable and stain resistant design. Those who prefer muted tones and beige variations will appreciate the Ava Ikat Flatwoven Rug. For the most part, this collection is for those who adore vibrant living spaces since each rug design is packed with garden-ready colors and lively patterns. If your indoor space is already equipped with carpets and floor coverings, Mrs. Alice created two outdoor rugs to keep you cozy all season long. A new pair of budget-friendly buds Alongside the new headphones from Bowers & Wilkins, Altland also had a chance to try out a recently released pair of true wireless earbuds. So, if you aren't shopping for a premium pair of over-the-ear cans, this launch is for you. CNN Underscored is no stranger to SoundPeats, a brand that made it into our budget headphone guides in the past. Its newest release looks to offer even more value for the price. The new SoundPeats Air5 Pro features many of the inclusions you'd want from a modern pair of earbuds, from active noise cancellation and long-lasting battery life to more techy features like customizable EQ settings from the companion app and support for the latest audio codecs. All of that comes packed into an $80 MSRP that's even more affordable thanks to a launch discount that takes 25% off when you clip the on-page coupon at Amazon. Altland has been using these for the past week, and she particularly appreciates their sound quality. They don't quite stand up against something like the AirPods Pro 2 (and their $249 price tag), but that's to be expected. The ANC is solid enough to keep the cacophony of the NYC subway system at bay, and the quoted 7.5 hours of continuous playback is right on the money from her testing. A fragrance-free lineup for sensitive scalps If dryness or itchiness are plaguing your scalp, a new haircare routine may be the solution. Introducing Paul Mitchell's Clear Collection, a dermatologist-tested line of shampoos, conditioners and serums that are formulated specifically for sensitive skin and scalp types. You likely recognize the brand from salon visits over the last decade, but the brand is still at the cutting edge of hair by treating scalps with the same attention as skin care regimens. Packaged in minimalistic bottles indicative of their formulas, the Clear family aims to skip to the root cause of hair issues with frills-free formulas that folks with skin conditions are more likely to tolerate. Less is more in this case: Each product touts a fragrance-free and dye-free ingredient list, boasting fewer than 10 ingredients. Altogether, the entire hair wash and styling system is priced under $100. Both tagged at $20, the Essential Shampoo is a color-safe, gentle cleanser and the Essential Conditioner is a lightweight moisturizer. Before styling hair, apply the $30 Smoothing Serum for less frizzy hair. Top it off with the $20 Styling Glaze, which offers a soft hold that isn't a chore to wash out afterward. A luxurious fragrance for those on a budget Matarazzo has been a fan of Oui The People for years now and appreciates its everlasting commitment to functional body care. The brand even created one of our best-tested women's razors, and it offered the smoothest shave compared to the other 14 that we used. Currently, we're here to celebrate their new multipurpose fragrance mist that launched, which is safe enough to spray on hair and body. Its Body Water comes in two dreamy-summer forward scents like a lush Orange Blossom and creamy Souk Honey. Both hydrate, moisturize, protect and leave skin refreshed and glowy with its French thermal water-forward spray. Matarazzo got her hands on a sample of the Orange Blossom and adores its citrus and neroli forward scent. She's been layering it with her other fragrances and appreciates that it's the only one in her collection she can use as a finishing mist on her hair. Its price tag is also relatively affordable at $35, especially with its decent 100 milliliter-sized bottle, multifunctionality and commitment to using high-quality ingredients. This week also saw the launch of other products our editors deemed worthy of standalone coverage. Shop all these additional launches below, including a new Mac mini accessory from Satechi, the latest Philips Hue ambient smart lamp and more. Satechi Mac mini USB4 Slim NVMe SSD Enclosure Satechi has a new Mac mini accessory out this week with the launch of this SSD enclosure that expands your computer's storage with an elegant external drive that's the same dimensions as the actual Mac. Philips Hue Play Smart Wall Washer Altland has dozens of Philips Hue lights in her apartment and was excited to see that there's a new ambient lamp on the market this week that can add a splash of color to your space. Elevation Lab Aero TagVault Magnetic AirTag Case Stick an AirTag on any metal surface with this new TagVault case. It seals your Apple item finder in an IP68 waterproof cover and is perfect for attaching onto a vehicle, tool box, bikes and more. Bose SoundLink Flex 2nd Gen Speaker in Citrus Yellow Bose has a new collection of Citrus Yellow speakers. That includes CNN Underscored favorites like the second-generation version of SoundLink Flex. As deals editors at CNN Underscored, we are some of the first people to hear about the latest product news from reader-favorite brands. Our deals team — comprised of senior editor Rikka Altland, editor Jacqueline Saguin and associate editor Elena Matarazzo — is passionate about product launches that we would be tempted to shop, and we enjoy finding a coveted new item (especially one from a brand with top marks from our experts) because it means we're helping our readers make savvy buying decisions.

I've Explored Every Corner of California by Car—These Are the Items I Never Road Trip Without, From $17
Some of my most memorable travel adventures have happened not in the air, but on the road. Whenever I had the chance, I'd set out along California's Pacific Coast Highway, with Santa Barbara as my first stop. From there, I'd wind through Carmel-by-the-Sea and along Mendocino's rugged coastline, always wishing for more time in each place. As one road trip turned into a dozen, I quickly learned that packing well was key—whether it was choosing the right pair of pants for long hours in the driver's seat or remembering essentials like a first-aid kit, water bottle, and chapstick. These days, most of my road trips revolve around vineyard stays. Over time, I've learned to pack smart—comfy boots for walking vineyard terrain, a stain remover pen, and a sturdy tote for the bottles I inevitably bring home. Those essentials have served me well on road trip adventures throughout California, from breezy beach towns to the towering sequoias and cliff-hugging spruce trees of its unforgettable national parks. If you're ready to get behind the wheel for your own West Coast getaway, read on for my top road trip essentials, from beach-ready sandals to moisture-wicking shirts that protect against desert heat. For longer road trips that call for outfit changes, tech gear, and must-have accessories, a compact carry-on makes all the difference. The Monos Carry-On Pro is my go-to thanks to its sleek, dent-resistant polycarbonate shell and built-in front compartment—perfect for keeping essentials like my laptop within reach. It's especially convenient when hopping from hotel to hotel, without the hassle of lugging around a bulky duffel. A cooler is a must for road snacks and drinks, and Calpak's lightweight soft-sided cooler is a great fit. Expandable side buckles make it easy to access items, and there are multiple exterior pockets to store smaller items, like my favorite nutritional snacks when hunger strikes on the road. Road trips require easy, hands-free phone access for everything from directions to voice-activated stops. The VanMass Car Phone Mount keeps your phone securely in place with a strong adhesive base, a sturdy vent clip, and a lower back release button for added stability. It's one of those small upgrades that make a big difference. $55 at Amazon $55 at Away Travel I've often learned the hard way how important it is to have a small bag nearby when you're on the road. The Away Toiletry Bag is ideal for short trips and comes equipped with an exterior zip pocket for easy access to items and multiple interior compartments to keep toiletries well-organized. $40 at Amazon $40 at Another road trip must-have? A reusable water bottle. This 26-ounce Yeti Rambler is leakproof, vacuum-insulated, and features a chug spout lid for easy sipping as you drive. It's no secret that I love a good outfit to wear for my treasured pastime: drinking wine. My favorite retailer for dresses, Revolve, currently has a whole page dedicated to winery tour looks. There are so many great styles for different body types, but the Callahan Mira Dress is my top pick because it's black—an ideal color to help mask any burgundy spills. A Chelsea boot is my go-to shoe for vineyard visits—comfortable, easy to slip on, and built with a durable sole for all-day wear. While my favorite Toms boot style is no longer available, this pair from Athlefit is a solid alternative to complement my winery outfits. The perks of a wine road trip mean you can bring your favorite bottles home without having to worry about checking a bag at the airport. Vin Fresco's Wine Tote Bag features a leather exterior that's stain-resistant with padded straps to carry it as a backpack. With two compartments to hold wine bottles, I'll be eagerly toting Cardinale Winery's newly released 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon and Intrada Sauvignon Blanc to pour in the cute stainless-steel tumblers that the bag comes with. On warmer vineyard days, a pair of polished shorts or a comfy skort is my go-to. Spanx's Stretch Twill Shorts offer gentle compression and a super-soft fabric for all-day comfort. Plus, with seven mostly neutral colors to choose from, they're a versatile choice for multiple stops along your route. The Gap Cotton Gauze Easy Barrel Pants live up to their namesake, with a flowing fit made from 100 percent breathable cotton and an elasticized waist that will serve me well during my long-anticipated Napa dinner at Chef Rogelio Garcia's farm-to-table phenom, Auro. A lightweight, versatile swimsuit cover-up is a California road trip must-have. My favorite crochet piece is no longer available, but this open-knit cover-up maxi dress from Quince is the kind of day-to-night piece you'll pack for every coastal escape. Plus, it'll pair perfectly with my favorite cheeky Triangl Vinca bathing suit. Don't leave home without a comfortable way to lounge in the sand. The Bo Toys Beach Mat Lounge Chair comes with a convenient zippered tote and is made from a durable polyester, with an adjustable reclining backrest for ultimate relaxation. Of course, you'll need a stylish bag to store all your sandy beach essentials. The Aerie Jumbo Crochet Bag is my go-to, but this structured woven shoulder bag at Amazon is under $25 and perfect for transitioning to an upscale beachfront dinner. $400 $280 at When evening arrives, dinner is always at Caruso's, a Miramar Beach restaurant with ocean views and a glamorous interior that will make you want to throw on your favorite, casually chic dress. The Andrea Iyamah Essi Maxi Dress fits the bill as it's made from breathable cotton, with lovely features like double-rope detailing along the neckline and a low back closure. It's always a good idea to pack a pair of stylish and comfortable sandals for any beach road trip. I recommend Franco Sarto's Britt Slide Sandal, which is accented with geometric cutouts and comes with an adjustable buckle. They pair well with casual and dressier looks and can even withstand a sandy beach walk. $35 at Amazon $35 at The sun is no joke in California's desertscapes, so you'll want to be prepared. I've been traveling to Palm Springs since I was little, and two non-negotiable items to always pack to beat the heat are a good pair of sunglasses and a breathable bucket hat. Knockaround's Songbirds West End Sunglasses are lightweight and feature polarized amber lenses and full UV 400 protection you'll appreciate. Get even more protection with the wide-brimmed Shinchic Bucket Hat, made from a nylon material that provides necessary UPF 50+ sun protection and comfortable breathability. When it comes to desert-ready fashion, breathable fabrics will be your best friend. It's no secret that linen is having a moment, and the lightweight comfort it provides is perfect for humid desert days. The Quince Linen Sleeveless Swing Dress is lightweight, breathable, and durable. It can be easily worn while window-shopping down Palm Canyon Drive or dressed up for dining alfresco at Le Vallauris. Also key for any desert road trip is a breathable tee. I've learned over the years that not all tops are created equal, and Goldie Tees' Signature tees and tanks continue to prove they're a cut above the rest. Made from 100 percent Peruvian pima cotton, the tank has a light, silky texture that feels like a cool hug on a hot day. A versatile athletic dress is a must for a desert visit. This smocked, flowy option from Aerie is lightweight, fast-drying, buttery-soft, and incredibly breathable. Even better? This detail-packed dress also has built-in shorts, pockets, and adjustable straps to make 100-degree days a little more comfortable. Teeming with national parks from its interior valleys to its golden coast, any outdoor enthusiast will be more than pleased with a road trip to some of California's best hiking spots. To keep your foundation strong on any trail, it's important to invest in a pair of supportive shoes. The Nortiv 8 Waterproof Hiking Boots have a durable midsole and mesh tongue that promotes ventilation. For sun protection and moisture-wicking material, REI's Sahara Shade Hoodie never fails, no matter how far or high you choose to roam. The super-soft and stretchy material offers UPF 50+ sun protection, and a three-panel hood has an internal drawstring to keep your neck well-protected. Pair the breathable shirt with REI's Trail Made Shorts, made with a water-repellent stretch nylon with six pockets to store all your small essentials. As temperatures along the coast and interior can often fluctuate, a good outdoor waterproof jacket is also clutch. Muji's Water Repellent Hoodie is made from organic cotton and has a rounded silhouette that can be changed by tightening the hem and cuffs. Its versatile fit makes it a good choice for hiking, biking, or any other outdoor activity. Last but not least, it's always a good idea to have a fully charged phone for any outdoor adventure, particularly if you're hiking for hours or get lost. The iWalk Portable Phone Charger is about the size of a lipstick case and comes with a built-in USB-C port. The battery bank can charge a phone from 0 to 50 percent in just 30 minutes for a quick boost on the trail. Love a great deal? The Family Behind Calpak: How Second-Generation Innovators Are Elevating This AAPI-Owned Travel Brand
Lifestyle and travel accessory leader, CALPAK, is expanding its Baby Collection this April with two new styles. In the heart of Los Angeles in 1989, Edward and Judy Kwon launched Calpak that would eventually shape the way travelers packed. Originally called California Pack, it started as a limited collection of handbags and wallets. Over the early years, the brand gradually grew its product line, reaching new markets through major retail partnerships. A key milestone came in 2005, when Calpak launched its first hard-shell luggage collection, designed to meet the growing demand for durable, lightweight suitcases. In the 1990s, Judy and Edward Kwon, immigrants from South Korea, began to expand their 'California Pak' line with soft-side luggage and smart duffel bags. What began as a small family venture would soon evolve into Calpak, a global travel brand focused on creating high-quality, stylish, and accessible travel bags. Calpak's story is not just one of product innovation—it's also a narrative of family legacy. In 2013, Edward and Judy's children, Jennifer and Roy Kwon, decided to step back into the family business and breathe new life into the brand. Jennifer Kwon, now President of Calpak, recalls: 'In 2013, I joined the family business and focused on creating a brand that embraced a fresh, modern vision, focused on design-driven products and an online audience.' By 2013 the company rebranded to Calpak, with a new logo and look designed to focus on a new generation of avid travelers. That year their children Jennifer and Roy joined the company. Before the rebrand, Calpak had already made significant strides in the luggage industry, especially after the successful launch of its first hard-shell luggage collection in 2005. But as the travel landscape shifted—driven by social media and lifestyle-centric trends—it became clear that a transformation was necessary. 'At the time, most luggage and travel options catered to business travelers, with little available for personal or leisure trips,' Kwon explains. 'Calpak's rebrand in 2013 focused on creating products that were more expressive, design-forward, and tailored to the modern traveler—while still remaining functional, long lasting, and accessible.' CALPAK's baby bag collection launched last February 2024, garnering a 7,000+ person waitlist. This design and digitally-driven approach marked a turning point for Calpak. Since then, the company has diversified its product offerings far beyond traditional luggage. With a clear focus on innovation, Calpak now offers backpacks, totes, accessories, and most recently, baby bags—each designed with the needs of real travelers and families in mind. 'As a primarily DTC brand, we're hyper-focused on customer feedback and creating products our customers love and can use for years of travel and memories,' Kwon says. But CALPAK's evolution didn't stop at individual travelers. In February 2024, the company debuted its Baby Collection, crafted specifically for the modern parent. With many parents on the CALPAK team themselves, the aim was to 'get the baby category right,' as Kwon puts it. 'We were on a mission to create stylish, yet versatile staples to improve everyday life and commuting for all families.' Developed with insight from real Calpak parents, these new styles balance practicality with the company's signature and sleek design. Both are crafted from recycled, water-resistant materials and Oeko-Tex Standard 100 Certified for safety. That mission began with the Diaper Backpack, complete with a padded laptop sleeve, eco-friendly materials, and parent-approved organization. In April 2025, the line expanded again with the Weekender Duffel—perfect as a hospital or overnight bag—and the Crossbody Diaper Bag for minimalist parents who value function and flair. CALPAK is preparing for a new product category that will launch in June, designed for their 'smallest customers,' teasing a blend of CALPAK's signature design details with playful touches. While the full details are still under wraps, it's another step in the brand's continuous expansion into lifestyle-driven collections that span all life stages. Among Calpak's best-selling collections in 2025 are the Terra and Luka lines. Each reflects the brand's commitment to function, design, and sustainability. The Terra Collection, made from recycled, eco-friendly materials, is water-resistant and ideal for everything from rugged adventures to airport runs. Then there's the Luka Collection, a fan favorite with a devoted following—so much so that it amassed an 85,000-person waitlist. Calpak continues to expand the brand's assortment of bags. Known for its lightweight durability, nine smart pockets, dedicated shoe compartment, and under-seat airplane fit, it's a staple for both daily use and global travel. Originally launched in 2019, the Luka Duffel was created in a standard, large, and newly launched mini size as of April 30, 2025, an example of Calpak's iterative design process. From Edward and Judy's small start in 1989 to their children Jennifer and Roy's revitalization of the brand in 2013 and to the present-day, Calpak remains true to its Los Angeles roots, family values, and a dedication to designing for smart travel.

9 Best Gym Bags for Workouts On the Go
Carving out time to work out just might be one of the greatest challenges of traveling. But when it comes to logistics, having the right gym bag just might be the jumpstart needed for a dose of motivation. Some of our top picks are convertible and even double as carry-ons, personal items, or weekender bags, making them ideal for travelers. The best gym bags have thoughtful features, like a water bottle pocket, a separate compartment for post-workout clothes and shoes, and zippered pockets to keep small items easy to reach on the go. Pros: Simple design, coated bottom for durability, ventilated side compartment for shoes or laundry Cons: Can feel bulky, only one color available Away Featherlight crossbody $78 Away Dimensions: 15.7"L x 6.3"W x 13"H Weight: 12.8 oz. Capacity: 18L Warranty: Limited one-year warranty, plus 100-day return policy From the moment Away introduced its Featherlight collection, I've been a fan of its uber-light products that offer Away's trademark dependability and durability—and trust me, I'm all about stuffing my bags to the max. The 16-inch laptop pocket makes this crossbody work-friendly, while hidden exterior pockets (one zippered and one slip) make it easy to access essentials while traveling. As a germaphobe, one of my favorite aspects is that this bag is machine washable. Pros: Lightweight, machine washable, large laptop pocket, water repellant Cons: Limited capacity
