IDCS Highlights Preparations for Safe, Free Eid al-Adha Slaughter Services
Ahmed Emam As Eid al-Adha approaches, Egypt's Cabinet Information and Decision Support Center (IDCS) has highlighted intensive preparations by the General Authority for Veterinary Services (GAVS) under the Ministry of Agriculture to ensure free and safe sacrificial slaughter services that comply with both religious and health regulations. In a series of video interviews released by the center, Dr. Hamed Moussa El-Aknes, Chairman of the GAVS, emphasized the comprehensive readiness of public abattoirs across all governorates. According to GAVS, these facilities have been fully equipped, with repaired slaughter tools, adequate sanitizers, and essential supplies. Moreover, veterinary teams have been reinforced to supervise slaughter operations and ensure that all procedures are carried out safely and in full compliance with health and religious standards. Dr. El-Aknes announced that a state of emergency was declared in the days leading up to the holiday, noting that this crucial measure, in coordination with the Animal Inspection Department, is designed to enhance market surveillance and prevent unregulated slaughter outside licensed abattoirs—a key step in protecting public health and meat safety. A notable highlight of the preparations is the full coordination with governors to offer free-of-charge slaughter services at government facilities. This initiative aims to promote safe, supervised slaughter practices and eliminate the risks associated with unregulated home slaughtering, which often poses health and environmental hazards. The GAVS head stressed the importance of adhering to religious criteria when selecting sacrificial animals. He advised citizens to ensure that their animals are healthy, active, and physically sound, with clear eyes and shiny coats—important indicators for religious acceptability and overall meat quality. Dr. El-Aknes urged citizens to utilize the free public slaughterhouses, describing this as a critical measure to prevent the spread of diseases, preserve the environment, and uphold religious and veterinary standards. He also called on the public to be vigilant in choosing their animals, ensuring they meet all necessary health and religious conditions, so that this important religious rite is fulfilled with dignity, safety, and respect for its spiritual and communal values. read more Gold prices rise, 21 Karat at EGP 3685 NATO's Role in Israeli-Palestinian Conflict US Expresses 'Strong Opposition' to New Turkish Military Operation in Syria Shoukry Meets Director-General of FAO Lavrov: confrontation bet. nuclear powers must be avoided News Iran Summons French Ambassador over Foreign Minister Remarks News Aboul Gheit Condemns Israeli Escalation in West Bank News Greek PM: Athens Plays Key Role in Improving Energy Security in Region News One Person Injured in Explosion at Ukrainian Embassy in Madrid News China Launches Largest Ever Aircraft Carrier Sports Former Al Zamalek Player Ibrahim Shika Passes away after Long Battle with Cancer Sports Neymar Announced for Brazil's Preliminary List for 2026 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers News Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouly Inaugurates Two Indian Companies Arts & Culture New Archaeological Discovery from 26th Dynasty Uncovered in Karnak Temple Business Fear & Greed Index Plummets to Lowest Level Ever Recorded amid Global Trade War Arts & Culture Zahi Hawass: Claims of Columns Beneath the Pyramid of Khafre Are Lies News Flights suspended at Port Sudan Airport after Drone Attacks News Shell Unveils Cost-Cutting, LNG Growth Plan Videos & Features Video: Trending Lifestyle TikToker Valeria Márquez Shot Dead during Live Stream

Egypt Unveils Major Overhaul of Giza Pyramids Area, Highlighting New Entrance, Enhanced Tourist Services
Ahmed Emam Egypt's Cabinet Information and Decision Support Center (IDSC) has released a series of videos showcasing the full-scale development of the Giza Pyramids archaeological zone, including a major relocation of the main entrance to the site and significant upgrades to tourist services. In the video series published across social media platforms, Ashraf Mohie El-Din Mohamed, Director General of the Giza and Pyramid Antiquities, emphasized that the Giza Pyramids are Egypt's most important tourist destination. To preserve and enhance this iconic site, a comprehensive development project was launched. Originally initiated in 2009 with an expected completion in 2012, the project faced delays due to political unrest and was later resumed in 2016. It has now been completed and is set to officially open on April 1. One of the most notable changes is the relocation of the main entrance from its current position near the Mena House Hotel to a new access point on the Fayoum–Oases Road. A spacious parking area has been built to accommodate all cars and tour buses. Multiple ticketing options will be available—including online booking, self-service kiosks, and conventional ticket windows. Special windows and accessible pathways have been created for visitors with disabilities. Upon entry, visitors will pass through a large hall inside the newly constructed Visitor Center, which features a scale model of the pyramids and surrounding tombs. Guests will also be offered a five-minute film narrated by actor Kevin Costner, providing an overview of the site's rich history. From there, they will board the first of several electric buses designed to reduce noise pollution and harmful emissions within the archaeological zone. The project also includes a sustainable rotation system for pyramid and tomb access. Two pyramids will be open to the public at a time while the third undergoes maintenance. Similarly, tombs will be alternated between visitation and restoration to preserve their integrity and ensure a high-quality experience for future visitors. As part of the trial phase launching in April, the old entrance will be permanently closed and tourists will begin entering exclusively through the new Fayoum gate. Seven electric shuttle stations will connect key areas of the heritage site. A specially designated area has also been established for camel and horse rides, with new training programs introduced for handlers to improve interactions with tourists. The Giza Pyramids site is now poised to welcome visitors in a modern, organized, and environmentally conscious way—honoring its historical significance while embracing sustainable tourism. read more Gold prices rise, 21 Karat at EGP 3685 NATO's Role in Israeli-Palestinian Conflict US Expresses 'Strong Opposition' to New Turkish Military Operation in Syria Shoukry Meets Director-General of FAO Lavrov: confrontation bet. nuclear powers must be avoided News Iran Summons French Ambassador over Foreign Minister Remarks News Aboul Gheit Condemns Israeli Escalation in West Bank News Greek PM: Athens Plays Key Role in Improving Energy Security in Region News One Person Injured in Explosion at Ukrainian Embassy in Madrid News Egypt confirms denial of airspace access to US B-52 bombers News Ayat Khaddoura's Final Video Captures Bombardment of Beit Lahia Lifestyle Pistachio and Raspberry Cheesecake Domes Recipe News Australia Fines Telegram $600,000 Over Terrorism, Child Abuse Content Arts & Culture Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban's $4.7M LA Home Burglarized Videos & Features Bouchra Dahlab Crowned Miss Arab World 2025 .. Egypt Supports Palestine: IDSC Documents Humanitarian Aid Efforts
In a powerful show of solidarity, Egypt's Cabinet Information and Decision Support Center has released a series of videos on its social media platforms, documenting Egypt's ongoing humanitarian efforts to support the Palestinian people in Gaza since the beginning of the crisis. The videos feature interviews with officials overseeing the humanitarian convoys, highlighting the scale and significance of these aid missions. An official from the 'Tahya Misr' Fund revealed that more than seven massive humanitarian convoys have been dispatched to Gaza, each carrying over 500 trucks loaded with diverse food supplies and medical necessities. These convoys are organized in collaboration with prominent charitable and humanitarian organizations such as 'Life Makers,' the 'Egyptian Food Bank,' and 'Misr El Kheir,' among others. One of the convoy officials emphasized that Egypt does not charge any fees for the passage of aid trucks, underscoring its steadfast support for the Palestinian cause. He noted that the convoys pass through the Rafah border crossing free of charge, with all aid sourced from donations made by the Egyptian public and charitable institutions. Moreover, the Director of Refugee Affairs highlighted the fruitful cooperation between the 'Tahya Misr' Fund and numerous civil society organizations, resulting in the dispatch of over 664 trucks carrying more than 7,200 tons of essential supplies. These include food, medical supplies, tents, clothing, and blankets. A 'Tahya Misr' Fund official reiterated that humanitarian aid would continue flowing into Gaza even after the ceasefire.
