CTrains closed along 7 Avenue over long weekend

CTrain riders heading for downtown can expect to find disruptions this weekend. Starting early Saturday morning, all downtown CTrain stations along Seventh Avenue as well as Victoria Park/Stampede station and a few surrounding stations, will be closed. Shuttle buses will be available to replace CTrain service between affected stations, downtown included. The Red Line will be closed between Sunnyside and 38 Avenue stations, with shuttles available between all downtown stations. The Blue Line will be closed between Sunalta and Bridgeland/Memorial Station. For those heading east towards downtown, the city suggests transferring to the shuttle bus at Westbrook Station. However, if you're heading towards Shaganappi Point Station or Sunalta, stay on the train. The closures are to allow the city to complete annual preventative maintenance and inspections, including Seventh Avenue South maintenance and Plus 15 inspections, exterior and interior cleaning, storm drain cleaning, work on crossing at Eighth Street S.W., maintenance on phones and communications equipment, inspections on the Seventh avenue LRT platform canopy and other items as time allows. Full CTrain service resumes Tuesday. For more info, go here.
