Carnival Cruise Line fixes massive passenger pain point

Carnival Cruise Line fixes massive passenger pain point originally appeared on Come Cruise With Me. It's amazing how a seemingly small improvement to the design of a basic item can sometimes dramatically increase its value for users. In a cruise ship cabin where space is very limited, thoughtful design that equips a room with multipurpose features and devices makes the small room so much more manageable for cruise lines introduce new innovations to ship design, tiny staterooms get more comfortable with each new ship class. But it's not just new ships that get these enhancements. Older ships can often be updated with innovative new features that elevate the passenger experience. Carnival Cruise Line's latest upgrades to some of its 20-year-old ships prove that. The cruise line's brand ambassador, John Heald, recently showed off one new cabin enhancement on his popular Facebook page that stirred excitement among thousands of the cruise line's loyal brand ambassador posted a photo of a new bedside lamp that the cruise line recently added to staterooms on Carnival Valor, as well as other cruise ships in its fleet that were recently updated during routine dry dock maintenance. 'We added these new lamps on the Carnival Valor during dry dock and will be doing this to other ships in future dry docks. They have USB and the smaller one [USB-C] and a power plug for things like CPAP perhaps,' Heald said. As he often does with ship features and enhancements, Heald asked his followers for feedback on the new lamps and their charging ports to determine if the majority of passengers would find them than 12,500 Carnival cruisers weighed in through comments on the post, and the results were overwhelming in favor of putting the lamps on as many ships as possible. 'I've been waiting for this moment my whole life,' Julie Jebaily commented. 'And I'll only use it for my cell phone charger because the USB outlets never charge my devices.' 'Best change made to cabins in 20 years,' Keith Bruce agreed. Many Carnival passengers insist that there are never enough power outlets in cabins, especially on older post about the new lamps was especially popular with cruisers who use CPAP machines when they sleep. These passengers typically have to pack extension cords for their cruises to meet their CPAP power needs. 'As a CPAP user it will make things much easier because I won't have to have an extension cord stretched across my cabin floor at night. That makes midnight potty runs really dangerous,' Mick Kyte explained. 'I love the functionality. I can charge my phone and plug in my CPAP all in one lamp — and I don't have to bring an extension cord with me,' Jeremy Rynca added. 'That will help give me (my wife) more room to overpack clothes.' More Carnival cruise news:Some passengers noted though that it would be more helpful if the lamp was not bolted down in the middle of the table as they're currently positioned on the ships that recently received them. 'They should be towards the front or the back so you actually have room for the CPAP or whatever you are plugging into the outlet,' Avril Lawshé suggested. Hopefully, after reviewing the helpful passenger feedback gathered by its brand ambassador, Carnival will make an adjustment to improve the lamp placement as they're added on more ships. Bintulu toddler Gonzalez Yiu just short of RM50,000 for life-saving second liver transplant in China

Gonzalez and Viviana are seen at UMMC in Kuala Lumpur while waiting for sufficient funds for the critical liver transplant. SIBU (June 20): A fundraising campaign to enable Bintulu toddler Gonzalez Yiu to undergo a critical second liver transplant in China needs less than RM50,000 more to achieve its target of RM231,930. His mother Viviana Thomas said as of yesterday, the campaign had collected RM183,287.25 to support the surgery and treatment at Renji Hospital in Shanghai. Gonzalez is battling Type II autoimmune hepatitis and end-stage liver disease. Viviana appealed for help to raise the remaining RM48,642.75 for her son —who has been battling the illness since he was six months old — to receive the life-saving treatment. 'Every passing day is critical for Gonzalez. We truly appreciate every donation and prayer from the public,' she said when contacted today. She also shared the family's heartfelt gratitude for the support and compassion shown by the public throughout the campaign. The total amount includes a Continuous Positive Airway Pressure (CPAP) machine worth RM6,930 to help Gonzalez, who is one year and 11 months old, breathe steadily before and after the surgery in China. For now, Gonzalez remains under monitoring at the University Malaya Medical Centre (UMMC) in Kuala Lumpur, while waiting for sufficient funds and assistance from the Biliary Atresia Malaysia Association (BAMA) to manage documentation and obtain Ethical Approval. Those wishing to help ease the family's burden can channel donations through Yayasan Nanyang Press (OCBC Bank 701-120679-6) with the reference Gonzalez Yiu. Donors who require tax exemption receipts can complete the online form and upload proof of payment via: On May 22, Viviana told Utusan Borneo the family was left with no choice but to appeal to the public for help as their savings had been exhausted on essential needs, treatments, and repeated hospital trips. The youngest of two siblings, Gonzalez underwent his first liver transplant in March last year, but suffered serious complications when the new liver —donated by his mother — began to fail. For the second transplant, Gonzalez's father Yiu Kuok Ling will donate part of his liver. For further information, contact Viviana on 010-7661816. Teen forced to drink urine, eyebrows & head shaved for making new friends in Ballabgarh

Faridabad : A 19-year-old Dalit youth was subjected to brutal torture and humiliation by his former friends in Ballabgarh. The victim was not only beaten with sticks but also forced to drink urine and sexually assaulted during the ordeal that took place on June 16. According to police, the teenager was lured from his house in Subhash Colony by Piyush, a former friend, who took him to a room near a local dispensary. There, Piyush and his accomplices allegedly tied him up and unleashed a series of brutal acts — beating him with sticks, forcibly shaving his head, eyebrows, and moustache, and hurling casteist slurs. The assailants allegedly stole Rs 3,000 from his pocket and sexually assaulted him as well. "The victim had recently started hanging out with a different group of youths. This angered Piyush and the others, leading to the eventual assault on him," said a police officer familiar with the case. The teenager had allegedly been assaulted by the same group just a day before the incident. An FIR was registered the next day under various sections of BNS, including those dealing with voluntarily causing hurt, wrongful confinement, theft, and criminal intimidation. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Experience next-level CPAP comfort with Resmed AirSense 11 ResMed Enquire Now Undo Charges under the SC/ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act were also included. While Piyush was arrested, two minors were detained in connection with the case. Police are looking for three other accused. "Three teams are working to apprehend the remaining culprits," said Nafe Singh, the SHO of Adarsh Nagar police station. The victim's cousin, who lodged a police complaint, alleged that the accused were known troublemakers in the area with previous criminal records. Piyush, who had known the teenager for 7-8 years, was presented before a magistrate and remanded in judicial custody. The two minors were produced before the Juvenile Justice Board. "An investigation has been initiated. Special teams have also been formed to track down the remaining accused," the officer said.
