AP: Minister Subhash distributes aid to 20 ailing people
Kakinada, June 19 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Minister for Labour Vasamsetti Subhash said the government is committed to the welfare of the poor and has extended all help to those ailing for their medical treatment. Apart from the CM Relief Fund, he said, his family, through the Satyam Vasamsetti Foundation, was also extending financial assistance to the poor and needy. Distributing financial assistance of Rs.22.12 lakhs from the Chief Minister's Relief Fund to twenty beneficiaries for their medical assistance at a function held at Ramachandrapuram today, the Minister said so far over Rs.1 Crore assistance was extended from the CM Relief Fund in his constituency. He said Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu was extending help to poverty stricken families in the manner of an elder son. The Government was sincere in fulfilling all its election eve assurances and going ahead with all-round development of the state along with welfare schemes, he added. Blood donation camp held for thalassemia-affected children at Khammam MP's camp office
Cadres of the Congress party organised a host of programmes, including a blood donation camp, and a bike rally, in Khammam, to mark the completion of Congress leader Ramasahayam Raghuram Reddy's one year as MP of Khammam Lok Sabha constituency. More than 50 persons, including Congress party cadres, donated blood at a camp held at the Khammam MP's camp office on the occasion. The event was organised for the cause of thalassemia-affected children. District Congress Committee president P. Durga Prasad, Revenue Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy's camp office in-charge T. Dayakar Reddy and others were present. Speaking on the occasion, the Congress leaders hailed the efforts of Mr Raghuram Reddy in highlighting the issues of public interest in the Parliament and contributing his mite for the development of the erstwhile composite Khammam district. They recalled that Mr. Reddy raised questions on key topics concerning the development of Telangana and the erstwhile Khammam district, in particular, in Parliament, clocking 92.64% of attendance, in the first year as Khammam MP. His questions pertained to crucial topics of public interest mainly concerning the imperative need for setting up a Greenfield airport at Kothagudem, change of alignment of Dornakal-Miryalguda new railway line, expansion and upgradation of National Highways among other vital development projects, they said. The party leaders further added that Mr Reddy ensured succour to people affected by the unprecedented floods in Munneru in 2024, distributed CM Relief Fund cheques to 1,147 needy persons and allocated MPLADS funds worth ₹145 crore for various development works.

50-year-old dies in Madhya Pradesh, fifth victim of mysterious animal bite
BARWANI: A 50-year-old man from Limbai village in the Rajpur subdivision of Barwani district died on Sunday after being bitten by an unknown animal, becoming the fifth person to succumb to such an incident within a week. The incident has prompted the district administration to order an investigation into the efficacy of the anti-rabies vaccine administered to the victims. The deceased, Chain Singh Umrao, died at MY Hospital in Indore, where he had been receiving treatment. Four other victims died earlier in the week under similar circumstances. The incident dates back to May 5, when 17 villagers were bitten while sleeping outdoors by an unidentified animal believed to be rabid. Health officials have said that villagers suspect a hyena is responsible for the attacks, though the forest department suspects the animal could have been a rabid dog. Santosh, who lost her mother Saidi Bai, said, 'My mother was sleepin outside of the house when the animal bit her, we took her to the community health centre of Rajpur and brought back after treatment. The district collector has ordered an enquiry into the anti-rabies vaccine, exploring the possibility of insufficient efficacy. Samples of the anti-rabies injection (vaccine) are being dispatched to a laboratory in Karauli, Himachal Pradesh. District collector Guncha Sanobar said, 'The doctors of Indore have suspected rabies virus for deaths, however, the situation will become clearer once the viscera are tested in the virology lab. We will send anti-rabies injection vaccine for examination to find out if there is any lack of efficacy.' Sanobar confirmed that all affected individuals received three doses of the anti-rabies vaccine in line with protocol. Meanwhile efforts are ongoing to convince remaining patients to seek care in Indore, as some have refused to travel. A patient, Baliram, fled from the district hospital in Rajpur upon seeing a waiting ambulance for transport to Indore. Officials reported that five patients are undergoing care at MY Hospital in Indore, while the remaining seven are being counselled to pursue better treatment in the city. Sanobar said cases for compensation to the families of the deceased are being prepared via the forest department or the CM Relief Fund. The viscera, brain tissue, and biopsy reports of the deceased are being sent to the virology lab in Delhi for further analysis.

TDP to organise Mahanadu in Kadapa from May 27 to 29
The Telugu Desam Party Politburo meeting, held under the leadership of its national president and Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, on Wednesday unanimously resolved to organise the party's annual conclave Mahanadu at C.K. Dinne village in Kadapa from May 27 to 29. Mr. Naidu will file nomination for election as the party's national president on Day 1 and the process, which will be a mere formality, is scheduled to be completed the next day. Resolutions on various subjects would be passed on May 27 and 28 and the mega event would end with a public meeting on May 29. Another important political decision is to start implementing the proposal to either appoint leaders who completed six years as Mandal Party Presidents (MPPs) in higher posts / committees or replace them with new MPPs in order to provide opportunities to upcoming leaders. Besides, it was resolved to have TDP offices constructed in each one of the 26 district headquarters in a year, for which three-member committees would be formed in all those districts, and to bring out a My TDP app, which will replace all other existing apps, before the commencement of Mahanadu and make it available to one crore members. Briefing mediapersons about the outcome of the TDP politburo meeting, Agriculture Minister and ex-officio member of the party's highest policy-making body K. Atchannaidu said 12 topics were discussed and it was decided to take steps for speedy settlement of insurance claims of the families of TDP workers who died in accidents (so far, ₹9.75 crore was paid to the kin of 195 such workers), streamline the provision of financial assistance under the CM Relief Fund (under which ₹349 crore was paid to 50,235 beneficiaries in the last 11 months), and to complete all the organisational elections before Mahanadu. The politburo resolved to bring out a welfare calendar for the next 12 months detailing one scheme to be delivered every month. About one lakh widow pensions that were stopped by the YSR Congress Party would be restored on June 12 and it was decided to hereafter credit the subsidy on three gas cylinders (being given under the Deepam-2 scheme) into the bank accounts of the beneficiaries in advance. Similarly, funds under the Talliki Vandanam scheme would be remitted into the bank accounts of the parents before the reopening of schools on June 12. The first instalment of assistance to farmers under Annadata Sukhibhava scheme (including the State's contribution) would be paid as and when the money comes from the Central government. TDP State president and Gajuwaka MLA Palla Srinivasa Rao said that the Mahanadu was being organised on a grand scale and it would set a new benchmark for future meetings. Rayadurg MLA Kalava Srinivasulu said the development of the parched Rayalaseema region would dominate the agenda of the Mahanadu which was being held for the first time in the party's history in Kadapa. Apart from the party related issues, the politburo decided to clear pending bills for works done under the Neeru-Chettu programme in 2014-19 amounting to ₹445 crore, and NREGA amounting to ₹211 crore at the earliest, and to take steps for removal of 2,887 cases foisted on TDP workers from 2019 to 24 through legal means by the end of December 2025. Also, resolutions were passed to organise Tiranga rallies and meetings along with the Jana Sena Party and BJP in all the constituencies on May 16, 17 and 18 as an expression of solidarity with the Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the armed forces who punished Pakistan for being responsible for the Pahalgam terror attack in which 27 tourists died, and homage was paid to those who were killed at Pahalgam.

Sarithamma Distributes CM Relief Fund Cheques to Support Needy Families in Gadwal
Gadwal: In a compassionate gesture aimed at supporting underprivileged families, former Zilla Parishad Chairperson and Congress Party Gadwal Constituency In-Charge Sarithamma, along with former Municipal Chairman B.S. Keshav, distributed CM Relief Fund cheques at the Congress party's Sarithamma Camp Office in the district headquarters. Beneficiaries from Gadwal town received a total of Rs. 1,63,000 through the Chief Minister's Relief Fund. The individual recipients and their respective amounts include M.D. Azmat (Rs. 60,000), Sunkanna (Rs. 60,000), Gouni Ramudu (Rs. 19,000), Venkatramulu (Rs. 12,000), and Jayaprakash (Rs. 12,000). Speaking on the occasion, Sarithamma stated that the government is extending financial aid through CM Relief Funds to support poor and needy families. She encouraged citizens to make proper use of all welfare schemes offered by the government. The event saw the participation of several senior Congress leaders including Madhusudan Babu, Town President Mohammed Isaq, DTDC Narsimhulu, Chintarevula Suresh, TNR Jagadeesh, Kausar Beg, Mestry Krishna, Toom Krishnayya Goud, Shivaraju, Kummari Narayana, Jammiched Ramu, Obulonipalli Parushurama, Govind, Nagaraju, Veeresh, Ravi, and others. This initiative highlights the Congress party's commitment to grassroots-level welfare and its active role in addressing the needs of the people in the Gadwal region.
