One arrested, MDMA worth Rs 1.4L seized in Ullal
Mangaluru: One person was arrested, and a total of 28.6 grams of MDMA was seized following a raid conducted near a resort in Someshwara under Ullal police station limits on Wednesday. The arrested individual was identified as Abdul Rashid Moideen. Acting on a tip-off received on Wednesday, PSI Sudeep MV of the CCB wing and his team intercepted a car exiting the premises of a resort. When stopped, the driver, later identified as Abdul Rashid, attempted to flee the scene, but was quickly apprehended by the police team. Upon interrogation, Moideen confessed to purchasing the narcotics from two persons identified as Ilyas alias Ertiga Ilyas and Auto Abbas, both residents of Paneer, Derlakatte. He admitted that the drugs were intended for resale at a higher price, police said. A search of the vehicle led to the seizure of 8.3 grams of brown crystal-like MDMA valued at approximately Rs 41,500; 20.3 grams of white crystal-like MDMA worth around Rs 1.1 lakh, a digital weighing scale, 26 empty ziplock plastic pouches of various sizes, a mobile phone, and a car. A case was registered against Moideen, Ilyas, and Auto Abbas at the Ullal police station.

According to investigating officers, the accused admitted during preliminary questioning that he had sourced the contraband from unidentified suppliers.
