Create Account SEOUL, South Korea — Suga, a rapper and songwriter in the global K-pop sensation BTS, has been discharged from South Korea's mandatory military service, marking the official return of all seven members from their enlistment duties. The label confirmed that Suga completed his alternative service duties on Wednesday after using up his remaining leave. His official discharge date is Saturday. BTS' management agency, Big Hit Entertainment, had said earlier that no events were planned for Suga's release out of concern for overcrowding. It is a momentous occasion for fans of the K-pop group BTS. The seven singers of the popular K-pop band plan to reunite as a group sometime in 2025 now that they've finished their service. Last week, BTS superstars RM and V were discharged from South Korea's military after fulfilling their mandatory service. Jimin and Jung Kook were discharged a day later. All four were enlisted in December 2023. Six of the group's seven members served in the army, while Suga fulfilled his duty as a social service agent, an alternative form of military service. Jin, the oldest BTS member, was discharged in June 2024. J-Hope was discharged in October. In South Korea, all able-bodied men aged 18 to 28 are required by law to perform 18-21 months of military service under a conscription system meant to deter aggression from rival North Korea. The law gives special exemptions to athletes, classical and traditional musicians, and ballet and other dancers if they have obtained top prizes in certain competitions and are assessed to have enhanced national prestige. K-pop stars and other entertainers aren't subject to such privileges. However, in 2020, BTS postponed their service until age 30 after South Korea's National Assembly revised its Military Service Act, allowing K-pop stars to delay their enlistment until age 30. There was heated public debate in 2022 over whether to offer special exemptions of mandatory military service for BTS members, until the group's management agency announced in October 2022 that all seven members would fulfill their duties. — AP Music Writer Maria Sherman reported from New York. Fans feared K-pop's biggest stars were gone forever. Now, they're set to return
When members of K-pop titan BTS began their mandatory South Korean military service in 2023, fans feared the worst – was this the end? But now, 18 months on, six of the seven members have done their duty, with Suga due to wrap up on Saturday. And that has fevered speculation Suga, J-Hope, RM, Jungkook, V, Jin and Jimin – each of whom have since launched successful solo careers – will reunite to bring BTS back to the stage next March. Though details have not yet been confirmed, The Korea Herald this week cited an unnamed but official source within entertainment giant HYBE as confirming the group would be back next year and suggested there might be a new single or project ahead of that event. Last week, the seven stars reunited for the first time in two years to mark the 12th anniversary of the group, and the end of J-Hope's first solo tour. Jin and Jungkook took to the stage to perform BTS song Jamais Vu with J-Hope as a trio while the other members watched from the crowd. But for the passionate and devoted fan base, BTS ARMY (BangTan Sonyeondan Adorable Representative M.C. for Youth), just seeing them together in the same venue was a thrill. Why are BTS so badly missed? BTS are most recognised for hits like Butter and Dynamite, and were formed in 2010 by entertainment company Big Hit Entertainment (now Big Hit Music, a label under HYBE). Their debut single, 2 Cool 4 Skool, landed in 2013, followed by the album, Dark & Wild, in 2014. Since then, they have released nine studio albums, been nominated for two Grammy Awards, broken 25 Guiness World Records (including most streamed group act on Spotify), and charted four No.1 albums faster than any group since the Beatles.

'I've read 122 so far this year thanks to tried and tested methods'
Reading is a really great way to de-stress and avoid looking at your phone . We all know that avoiding blue light before bed and making time for ourselves without devices is key, but sometimes it can be tough to get the motivation to read , especially if you're in a slump. It's okay, we've all been there. But when reading is such a big part of your life (yes, I have read 122 books so far in 2025), it can be tough to accept you're in a slump, so I've fought my way through many in the past . That's how I came to find my tried and tested methods to power through, and hopefully, they'll work for you in the same way they work for me. Mix it up between physical and e-reader In my opinion, there's nothing that quite matches up to the feeling of a physical book in your hands. There are few joys in life that please me quite as much as going to a store and choosing a book I want to read, feeling it in my hands, turning the pages, enjoying the story. It's a spiritual experience. But if the thought of holding a physical book isn't doing it for you, switch to an E-reader. Whether you're a Kindle or a Kobo person, it doesn't matter. Having a device at your fingertips that has books upon books is so handy. Whatever you fancy can be yours at the drop of a hat. It weighs basically nothing, and can be held with one hand (you can even get cases with a back strap for holding it securely) - what's not to love? Plus, some people even claim they read faster on an e-reader, including me. If you feel a slump coming on, ditch your current read Feeling a slump coming on that has nothing to do with external factors going on in your life? The best thing to do is ditch your current read. You can come back to it if you feel compelled to in the future, but it's not mandatory. We're not in school anymore (unless, of course, you're reading this and you are, in which case, read the books you have to!). I did this with the book Butter. Yes, it was hailed as a literary masterpiece, but when I read it, I read 80 pages, and it put me in a physical book slump for a month because I struggled with it so much. My Kindle was my best friend from that point on. I came back to it at a later date via audiobook and quite enjoyed it, but the point is, if you're not loving what you're reading, just pick something else up instead. Life is too short. Read a mix of genres While it may be tempting to just read fluffy romance after fluffy romance, soon those books start to blend into one another, and you can't differentiate plots and characters, and you'll just get sick of it. This is why I think it's so important to mix it up when it comes to genres. I'll read a horror, followed by a romance, followed by literary fiction, and then sci-fi. You're obviously allowed your favourite tried and tested genres that you can't get enough of, but variety is truly the spice of life, and if you stick to one thing, I think you're missing out. Just a few weeks ago, I was adamant that I'd never be a sci-fi reader, but after reading Taylor Jenkins Reid's 'Atmosphere' and absolutely adoring it, I had to buy myself 'Project Hail Mary' by Andy Weir because, who'd have thought it, this science-illiterate woman is kind of into science fiction books. I mean, I love The Rocky Horror Show so much, so I should've known, really. The best type of books for getting out of a slump So, picture this. You're in a slump, and you want to get out of it because all your mates are reading and boasting about how much they're loving their latest read. The best thing to do is pick fast-paced books with short chapters that you'll be able to race through without really thinking about it. This way, you'll be so addicted to reading again, but the reading you've done won't feel like a slog. I'd recommend short (under 350 pages) thriller books. For example, I recently raced through The Tenant by Freida McFadden, and could always rely on her books to get me out of a slump if I was in one. Always carry a book (or Kindle) with you No, not just for the aesthetic Instagram pictures your mates can take of you to make you look interesting and intellectual, but so you can pick it up at every opportunity. If you're on public transport, read rather than scrolling. If you're waiting for a friend who ends up running 20 minutes late, you can sit and read with a side of people watching. This way, rather than sitting there and wishing you could read a chapter of your epic romantasy novel, you can actually just…do it. You know it makes sense.

Tried It: Turn Your Shower Into A Pamper Party With Dove's Delightful Body Scrubs
Source: As both the temperatures and the news cycle continue to heat up, it's important for us to carve out small moments for ourselves, wherever we can find them. While it looks different for everyone, as a self-professed skin care girlie (edit: grown woman), taking care of my skin and indulging in a luxury scent are always at the top of my self-care list. Some may fail to understand that indulgence is a necessary form of rebellion, but for me, in this moment, it truly is. But also, these bills … So for a skin-care, spa-loving mom on a budget like myself, I'm always looking to maximize pampering with affordability. So, I jumped at the chance to try out Dove's line of beloved body scrubs, back on the shelves with new scents and larger containers, still at the same affordable price point. A staple of TikTok influencers and Reddit recommendations, the Dove Body Scrubs are known for their formulas that provide rich and gentle exfoliation while also incorporating moisturization. Exfoliation is certainly a buzzy part of any skin care routine, but it's critical to remember that everything isn't for everyone, and the last thing you need is to irritate your skin. So be sure to do your own research. That said, Dove is very confident in their product and stands by the claims made by their own in-house research team. Dove Body Scrubs 'Dove Scrubs proprietary ¼ moisturizing cream infused in the formula, effectively exfoliates while nourishing skin, leaving skin feeling smooth after usage,' says Toral Patel, Dove Scrubs Research and Development Lead. Source: Dove / Courtesy of Brand The Dove team invited HelloBeautiful to experience the scrubs with an exclusive spa service at Spencer's Spa in New York City. The team answered questions about the formula and allowed us to compare Dove's formula to unnamed competitors on the market. The experience itself was luxurious, but my primary goal was to understand what sets Dove apart and to provide an honest review of the product for you. What stood out to me, aside from the formula, was the richness of Dove's product as averse to the competitors, some of which felt too watery or too dry. Dove tells HB that it's because they use Perlite, a type of volcanic rock as their exfoliant, as well as HEBE noodle and stearic as their moisturizing agent. As someone with sensitive skin, I asked the research team what the ideal cadence for exfoliation is, and they emphasized that it varies from person to person. Having now used it a few times, I still find that I can only exfoliate with it 2-3 times weekly to avoid any dryness or irritation, despite the rich, creamy formula, and that I do best when using to apply it with a washcloth or sponge, otherwise it can be a little rough on your hands. The scents are also a big selling point, with a total of 7 blends available, including their new Dragon Fruit & Shea Butter and Vanilla Sugar & Shea Butter formulas. My favorite continues to be the Brown Sugar and Coconut Butter (which also happens to provide the strongest exfoliation). But there's a wide range from fruity to sweet, which lingers on your skin for a bit of time after your shower, which is always a plus. You can find Dove body scrubs online or at your favorite drug store or big box retailer.
