Get to know... Aastha Gill

Currently, I am: Working on new music. There's more to my music than party tracks. High point in life: When Badshah told me he believed I could be a big pop star. I didn't have the guts to dream that big. Low point in life: After my song DJ Wale Babu, I felt lost and clueless. It took me about three years to figure out what my next release should be. On my playlist: Die With A Smile, by Bruno Mars; Love Ya, by Diljit Dosanjh; Bachke Bachke, by Karan Aujla; and my own release, Paapi. One thing I would never buy: Flowers for myself. I'd rather have someone gift them to me. Today I'm craving: Home-cooked food. Last thing I ordered online: Marvis toothpaste. I saw a Victoria's Secret model use it, and it is really good. App I check before going to bed: Call of Duty. I play a bit before I sleep. Advice I'd give my 18-year-old self: Enjoy whatever you're doing. There's plenty of time later to worry about stress and responsibilities, so chill and live in the moment. My favourite subject in school: Art. My art teacher believed I'd become a painter. My secret skill: Cooking! I love to do it when I am alone at home. A superpower I wish I had: Being invisible when I choose. My favourite Sunday memory: Spending time with the babies of my best friends. My plans for next Sunday: Chilling with family, cuddling my puppy Bella, and lying in bed doing nothing. My most star-struck moment: Seeing Shah Rukh Khan for the first time at an Ambani wedding. When he walked into the room, I was speechless. I couldn't take my eyes off him. My favourite bad habit: Not saying a word until I brush my teeth. I communicate in sign language until I'm ready to talk. If I could travel back or forward in time, I'd…: Skip the opportunity. I've learnt from the past and I'm excited about the future. The best thing about fame: It's not for everyone. But if you know how to handle it, you'll rock it. The worst thing about fame: It really is not for everybody. If you don't know how to handle it, it can slip right through your fingers. From HT Brunch, June 21, 2025 Follow us on

Rosé Beats Two BTS Singles For A New Spot In The History Books

When Rosé released "Apt.," her 2024 collaboration with Bruno Mars, its initial success came thanks to fans rushing to stream the track. That's not an uncommon sight for K-pop superstars, as their massive followings understand how the charts work and focus their energy on pushing a title as high as possible in its first frame. In the months since its debut, "Apt." has remained on the Billboard rankings thanks not only to continued sales and streaming success, but also a very healthy run at radio in the United States. Throughout its lifetime, "Apt." has made history in a number of ways on Billboard's pop radio rankings, and it does so again this week on one of those tallies. As of this frame, "Apt." has lived on the Adult Contemporary chart for 21 weeks. That now stands as an all-time longevity record among K-pop tunes. Last week, Rosé was tied with two tracks by BTS, which had jointly held this honor. Both "Dynamite" and "My Universe," the latter a collaboration with Coldplay, spent 20 frames somewhere on the list of the most successful compositions across all Adult Contemporary radio stations in the U.S. Now, "Apt." has passed both, with the New Zealand-born South Korean music industry superstar surging forward. Rosé now owns this bit of history, and she may continue to further her lead over the two BTS smashes. Her track climbs two spaces to No. 24 on the current edition of the Adult Contemporary chart. There's a good chance it will live on this ranking for several more frames, if not another month or so. Coincidentally, "Apt.," "My Universe," and "Dynamite" are also tied as the highest-rising singles ever by a K-pop artist on the Adult Contemporary chart. All three of them stalled at No. 16 at one point or another across the half-decade since "Dynamite" debuted.

Sabrina Carpenter might 'piss off' fans with new phone policy at her concerts

Sabrina Carpenter is considering banning phones at her concerts, despite the fact that the rule may 'piss off' her dedicated fans. The 25-year-old pop star, who's currently enjoying a chart-topping moment with her hit Manchild, told Rolling Stone in a new interview that she was 'absolutely' considering introducing phone-free gigs, even if the decision isn't immediately popular with fans. She revealed that the idea first struck her after she attended a Silk Sonic show in Las Vegas. 'This will honestly piss off my fans,' she admitted to the publication. 'I went to see Silk Sonic in Vegas, and they locked my phone. I've never had a better experience at a concert.' She described the Bruno Mars and Anderson .Paak–led concert as feeling 'like I was back in the '70s,' a time when fans were fully immersed in live music instead of watching it through a screen. 'Genuinely felt like I was there. Everyone's singing, dancing, looking at each other, and laughing. It really, really just felt so beautiful,' she added to the outlet. The star said that because she has grown up in the age of iPhones at shows, it feels 'super normal' to her to constantly be starring at the artist through her camera lens. Although she hasn't enforced any formal ban yet, Sabrina revealed the concept has been on her mind as she imagines her future self performing for decades to come. 'Depending on how long I want to be touring, and what age I am, girl, take those phones away,' she joked. 'You cannot zoom in on my face. Right now, my skin is soft and supple. It's fine. Do not zoom in on me when I'm 80 years old up there.' For now, the Espresso singer is still letting fans film and snap pics of her on stage - but it seems that after her experience - she's gently urging them to stay more present. Sabrina joins a growing wave of artists - including Adele, Madonna, and Bob Dylan - who have spoken out about the distractions caused by phones during performances. Despite the success of her new single - ahead of her album Man's Best Friend dropping August 29 - the Feather singer is in hot water over her raunchy album cover, which features her provocatively kneeling beside a suited man with a fistful of her hair. She recently clapped back at the backlash on X. When one user asked, 'Does she have a personality outside of sex?' the 26-year-old pop star replied on Monday: 'Girl yes and it is goooooood.' Sabrina has also received criticism for the simulated sex positions she demonstrated onstage while performing her song Juno during her Short n' Sweet Tour. 'It's always so funny to me when people complain,' Sabrina told Rolling Stone. 'They're like, "All she does is sing about this." But those are the songs that you've made popular. Clearly, you love sex. You're obsessed with it. It's in my show.' The two-time Grammy winner continued: 'There's so many more moments than the Juno positions, but those are the ones you post every night and comment on. 'I can't control that. If you come to the show, you'll [also] hear the ballads, you'll hear the more introspective numbers. 'I find irony and humor in all of that because it seems to be a recurring theme. I'm not upset about it, other than I feel mad pressure to be funny sometimes.'

Fortnite Blitz Royale explained and how to get the free skin

The Fortnite Blitz Royale mode is now live in the game, and players are still figuring out exactly what it has to offer. Here's everything you need to know about the new LTM. Fortnite has unveiled its latest mode, offering players a taste of Battle Royale action with some built-in abilities and a short time limit. Fortnite update 36.10 is here, and as the last update for a while, players are hoping there's plenty to keep them entertained until more content arrives – and fortunately, Epic Games has delivered in a big way, even after releasing a Nintendo Switch 2 exclusive emote and announcing the upcoming Squid Game UEFN collaboration. Alongside several new Mythic Weapons and Bruno Mars as the new Music Pass headliner, there are a few new modes to dive into – none more thrilling than Fortnite Blitz Royale. ‌ Though it may have once seemed a bit odd, the concept is straightforward – it's Battle Royale with a strict time limit, set on a reconfigured version of the island with several distributed Mythics to help accelerate the kills. It could potentially be a significant deal in the game's community, but as players are getting involved, they're still figuring out what it actually entails. ‌ So, what exactly is the deal with the new mode? Here's everything you need to know about Fortnite Blitz Royale. READ MORE: System Shock 2 remaster release date – when you can return to the newly-polished halls of Von Braun Fortnite Blitz Royale How it works The Fortnite Blitz Royale mode is a 32-player game where everyone begins with the same random medallion (which, rest assured, won't reveal your location), and must boost their Blitz Level by defeating opponents and surviving various storm circles, thereby enhancing the rarity of their loot and power-ups. Golden Chests scattered across the compact map offer a variety of power-ups to collect, featuring iconic returning POIs. Matches are capped at five minutes, making it ideal for mobile gamers, but it's open to all players regardless of platform, with options for solo, duo, and squad play. Content updates Before the game departs from the Fortnite launcher, Blitz Royale will provide four weeks of content updates, introducing new elements and even some pop culture crossovers. According to a recent blog post, here's what's coming: Wednesday, June 18: Week 1 – Launch Week! Find new Mythic versions of popular weapons, like the Rocket Ram, in the rare Golden Llama. Tuesday, June 24: Week 2 – The Avatar Returns! Pagodas from the Four Nations appear on the map, and players start with a Bending Scroll from Avatar: The Last Airbender. Tuesday, July 1: Week 3 – Bad Bosses! Replacing Bending Scrolls are power-packed boss weapons like Thorne's Vampiric Blade and the new Blitz Chain of Hades. Tuesday, July 8: Week 4 – TMNT Melee Mayhem! Replacing boss items are melee weapons from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, plus Megalo Don's Nitro Fists, the Mythic Typhoon Blade, Blitz Kneecapper, and more. Free cosmetics The Fortnite Blitz Royale mode offers plenty in terms of quests, and players can start working towards some new free items immediately. ‌ The mode features its own Victory Umbrella, giving players the opportunity to unlock the Blitz 'Brella Glider after three victories, and the Blitz Knight Outfit with 10 new account levels unlocked, or by finishing in the top 10 of Fortnite Blitz Royale 20 different times. The skin will be available to unlock until 6am PDT / 9am EDT / 2pm BST on Tuesday, July 15. It might require some effort, but it's free, so there's little room for grumbling. End date Fortnite Blitz Royale is gearing up to sign off on Tuesday, July 15 at 6am PDT / 9am EDT / 2pm BST. Epic Games has indicated that the mode will exit Fortnite at this time, with the time being an estimate based on when the Blitz Knight Outfit goes away. Although the mode's departure is imminent, Epic Games has given hope to fans stating it "may return at a later date with refreshed gameplay, maps, and rewards." This suggests that Fortnite Blitz Royale might soon become an integral feature of the game's landscape, provided it garners significant engagement from players. There's potential for Fortnite Blitz Royale to make waves, yet its future depends on whether it manages to capture the dedication of its user base, including the mobile crowd. And just when you thought Fortnite couldn't monopolise any more of our leisure time, it's poised to conquer those brief spells in the loo or times spent waiting for trains.
