Here Is Why Simone Ashley's Role In F1 Did Not Make It To The Final Cut
In the sports drama F1, Simone Ashley was cast in an important supporting role and the announcement of her being a part of the film was made last year. Simone Ashley's character in the upcoming sports drama F1 was expected to be her big breakthrough role. In an unexpected development, it has now emerged that her entire role has been edited out of the film. Joseph Kosinski, the director of the Brad Pitt starrer, revealed that her role did not make it to the final cut. During the same chat, he also expressed his wish to work with the actress again. In an interview with People, Joseph Kosinski said, 'It happens on every film, where you have to shoot more than you can use. There were two or three storylines that ultimately didn't make it into the final cut." Further, the filmmaker lauded Simone, calling her 'an incredible talent, incredible actress, incredible singer." Moving ahead, he also expressed his wish to collaborate with Simone again as he added, 'I would love to work with her again." Simone Ashley's popularity skyrocketed after her role in Netflix shows Sex Education and Bridgerton. In the sports drama F1, she was cast in an important supporting role and the announcement of her being a part of the film was made last year. However, the first teaser and trailer of the film had no glimpses of Simone and fans were quick to notice her absence. In July 2024, Variety confirmed Simone Ashley's involvement in Joseph Kosinski's F1. The actress was spotted shooting at the British Grand Prix at Silverstone Circuit in Northampton, England and the details about her role in the film were under wraps. Earlier this year, in May, Simone Ashley spoke to Elle about her experience of working in the most anticipated film. She said, 'I have a very small part, but I'm grateful to be in that movie. I got to experience many Grand Prix. I don't think I'll ever do anything like that again." While it seems Simone Ashley will not be seen in FI, the actress is yet to comment on the development. Set against the thrilling backdrop of Formula One, the high-octane drama will be released in theatres on June 27.

Why Simone Ashley's Role Was Cut in the 'F1' Movie
THE RUNDOWN Simone Ashley's role in the upcoming film F1 was unfortunately cut down significantly from the final version. In a new interview with People, the film's director, Joseph Kosinski, explained why. 'It happens on every film, where you have to shoot more than you can use,' he said. 'There were two or three storylines that ultimately didn't make into the final cut.' (According to People, Ashley appears onscreen, but doesn't have any speaking lines.) Kosinski added, 'But Simone, she's an incredible talent, incredible actress, incredible singer, and I would love to work with her again.' The Formula 1-inspired movie, set to release in theaters on June 27, stars Brad Pitt and Damson Idris. The cast also includes Javier Bardem, Kerry Condon, Tobias Menzies, Sarah Niles, and Kim Bodnia. (F1 superstar Lewis Hamilton also makes an appearance and produced the movie.) Ashley's role was first announced in July 2024 after fans spotted her and Idris at the British Grand Prix in England, where the movie was being filmed. Details about her role, though, were kept under wraps. Earlier this month, the Bridgerton star spoke to ELLE about what it was like to film F1. 'That was crazy,' she said. 'I have a very small part, but I'm grateful to be in that movie. I got to experience many Grands Prix. I don't think I'll ever do anything like that again.' And back in March, she revealed more about the process. 'I mean, this film, gosh, has been going for years,' she told Who What Wear, also noting that 2023's SAG-AFTRA strike delayed filming. 'I met for this movie, I think, before Bridgerton even came out.' She continued, 'Obviously, with the strikes and delays, we finally wrapped in Abu Dhabi in December. It's been a long time, and you know, it's Damson and Brad's movie. I'm just so grateful that I can be part of it.'

Summer sport highlights and TV deals from DAZN, Sky and TNT
The FIFA Club World Cup, Silverstone Grand Prix and Usyk vs Dubois 2 are among the sporting highlights this summer While many football fans are eagerly awaiting the start of the 2025/26 football season, there's plenty of other sporting events to tuck into this summer. Leading the pack is the FIFA Club World Cup, with the new-and-improved competition now in full swing. 32 of the world's best clubs are in the USA for the tournament, including Man City, Chelsea, Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain. Off the pitch, there's more must-see sporting events on the way in July, including the British Grand Prix at Silverstone, the Tour de France and the hotly-anticipated rematch between Oleksandr Usyk and Daniel Dubois. But as all of this sporting action is spread across a handful of broadcasters in the UK, it can be tricky to decide which subscription best suits our sporting tastes. With this, we've taken a look at a selection of major sports broadcasters including DAZN, Sky Sports and TNT Sports, plus the best deals currently up for grabs. So read on for some of the highlights on the way this summer and the best deals to watch each one for less. DAZN While many sports fans associate DAZN with boxing, it's actually home to a whole lot more. Across June and July, the broadcaster is airing every game from the FIFA Club World Cup live from the USA. Fans can stream every fixture for free by setting up a free DAZN account, which also includes a host of documentaries, features and clips from previous tournaments. DAZN offers a paid Premium subscription for fans to stream in HDR picture quality and Dolby 5.1 Surround Sound, with fewer adverts and full access to the rest of the DAZN platform. Prices for DAZN Premium currently start at £9.99 for an annual plan, or £19.99 for the 30-day rolling Flex account. The DAZN App can be accessed on smart TVs, smartphones, tablets, games consoles, streaming devices and any device with a web browser. Watch the Club World Cup free on DAZN £0 DAZN Get DAZN here Product Description Aside from football, DAZN's boxing calendar includes Jake Paul vs Chavez Jr (June 28), Catterall vs Eubank (July 5) and Oleksandr Usyk vs Daniel Dubois 2 (July 19). However, keep in mind that select fights will only be available with pay-per-view and are not included in a standard DAZN subscription. In our review of the DAZN platform, we found the app occasionally slow to respond on an iPhone 13, but performs smoothly when content is up-and-running, while streaming on a TV presented no issues. Sky Sports Even though we're between Premier League and EFL seasons, Sky Sports has plenty to tempt sports fans ahead of the new campaign kicking off in August. Sky is increasing its Premier League coverage from the 2025/26 season, with a 'record minimum' of 215 matches broadcast live, which it claims is more than any other broadcaster. These are all available with Sky's flagship TV and sports package, the Essential TV and Sky Sports bundle, for £35 per month. This provides access to every fixture broadcast on Sky Sports, including more than 140 at weekends, evening matches on Fridays and Mondays and three midweek rounds, plus the return of the festive round of fixtures. Signing up for a 24-month Sky Sports package secures access to both the 2025/26 and 2026/27 Premier League and EFL seasons. It includes nine dedicated Sky Sports channels, such as Golf, Tennis, Cricket and F1, meaning members can catch every practice, qualifier and race from the British Grand Prix at Silverstone on July 3-6. It also includes more than 100 regular channels, alongside free Netflix and Discovery+ subscriptions. Perhaps the main downside with Sky is its 24-month contract length, which may be offputting for those not looking to make a long-term commitment. If this is the case, Sky also offers a 30-day rolling plan for £43 per month, which provides flexibility for a higher monthly cost. Existing Sky customers can add Sky Sports to their package for £22 per month. Sky Sports is also included with Virgin Media's £59.99 per month Bigger Combo bundle + Sports, which justifies its higher price tag with the inclusion of 362Mbps broadband and a shorter 18-month term. TNT Sports The broadcaster formally known as BT Sport is available as part of a Discovery+ Premium subscription here in the UK. Its coverage is spread across four TV channels and up to six digital or red-button channels, plus Eurosport 1 and 2. TNT broadcasts a range of sports to suit any fan, including football, cycling, tennis, snooker, Premiership Rugby, MotoGP, boxing, UFC and more. Events to watch this month include the remaining NBA finals games, with the Tour de France starting on July 5. There's also the Bennetts British Superbikes and World Superbikes, plus the Grand Slam Track events from Miami, Philadelphia and Los Angeles. Looking further ahead, TNT Sports will once again broadcast select fixtures in the upcoming seasons of the Premier League, UEFA Champions League, UEFA Europa League and UEFA Conference League. This is all available with a Discovery+ Premium subscription for £30.99 on a rolling monthly basis through Discovery+ or Amazon's Discovery+ Prime Video channel. TNT Sports can also be added to new or existing Sky and Virgin packages for £20 and £18 respectively. TNT Sports has attracted criticism for its commentary on certain sports, with some users taking to Trustpilot to vent their frustrations. One tennis fan found the Men's and Ladies French finals commentary 'dreadful'. A football fan said: 'If TNT Sports football producers believe commenters shouting and screaming over each other enhances the experience, so be it. Most people I talk to either watch with sound off or now just don't tune in. However, other fans were more positive, as one said: 'Giving five stars for Ally McCoist's match commentary. He's brilliant.'

VisitBritain Unveils New Summer Campaign to Boost UK Tourism
KUWAIT CITY, 17 June: VisitBritain, Britain's national tourism agency, and the British Embassy Kuwait, jointly hosted an afternoon tea showcasing the UK's vibrant summer experiences and promoting travel beyond London. The event was hosted by Her Excellency Belinda Lewis, British Ambassador to Kuwait, at her official Residence and attended by members of the local media, travel influencers, and content creators. Presenters showcased the breadth of Britain's tourism offering, with a focus on destinations and experiences outside of London. They also highlighted major events taking place this summer, including world-class sporting moments such as the British Grand Prix at Silverstone and the Wimbledon tennis tournament, Bath's festivities marking 250 years since the birth of renowned author Jane Austen, and the Liverpool Biennial, the UK's largest contemporary art festival. Her Excellency Belinda Lewis, British Ambassador to Kuwait, said: "We are delighted to welcome VisitBritain and media partners to the British Embassy today. As the long-standing bonds between the UK and Kuwait continue to strengthen, I am glad to see ever more Kuwaiti travellers choosing to visit the UK. The British Embassy is proud to support initiatives that encourage people to experience the rich diversity of that the UK's home nations have to offer." Alongside the various summer experiences on offer, the event also outlined VisitBritain's new global campaign, ' Starring GREAT Britain'. Launched earlier this year, the campaign taps into the growing trend of 'set-jetting', whereby travellers visit destinations featured in popular films and television shows - encouraging visitors to explore iconic filming locations across England, Scotland, and Wales. Gary Robson, VisitBritain Director for Europe, Middle East & India, said: 'Our collaboration with the British Embassy Kuwait is an invaluable opportunity to strengthen relationships in one of our key GCC markets. We're working closely with local media, influencers, and the travel trade to showcase the very best of Britain and encourage visitors to explore beyond London. Our culturally relevant campaigns, delivered in English and Arabic, are tailored to resonate locally through popular platforms such as Snapchat, which plays a key role in our engagement strategy across Kuwait and Saudi Arabia. In 2024, Kuwaiti nationals made 162,000 trips to the UK, representing a 6% increase from 2023, with an average spend of £2,641 per visitor. The Gulf region is the UK's tenth-largest source market globally, with 1.04 million visits, and Kuwait is forecast to have the third-highest visitor spend among GCC countries this year. A major driver of this growth is the UK's Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA) scheme, which has made visiting easier than ever. Kuwaiti nationals made 148,854 applications between February 2024 and March 2025, the second highest in the Gulf after Saudi Arabia. Kuwait and the UK also boast a number of regular direct flight connections, with 16 direct weekly flights from Kuwait City to London, along with additional services to Manchester.
