Rly officers' inspect newly-built, electrified double line
Koraput: Senior railway officials led by Brijesh Kumar Mishra, commissioner of railway safety (CRS), south eastern circle, conducted a comprehensive inspection of the newly constructed 11.161 km electrified double line between Suku and Koraput stations on Thursday. The inspection is part of the ongoing Kottavalasa-Koraput doubling project. According to a release, the newly-commissioned double line section is equipped with 60 kg rails and designed to support a 25-tonne axle load. The stretch includes several major and minor bridges and engineered curves, all built to meet operational standards. Successful speed trials were conducted during the inspection, following which formal authorisation was granted for full-fledged commissioning of the section. The development is a key component of the broader doubling initiative along the Koraput-Rayagada line, aimed at enhancing rail capacity and improving operational efficiency in the region. CRS inspects newly laid double line between Darliput and Padua stations
Brijesh Kumar Mishra, Commissioner of Railway Safety, South Eastern Circle, inspected the newly constructed electrified double line of 9.78 km between Darliput and Padua stations in connection with the Kottavalasa - Koraput Doubling Project on Tuesday. Divisional Railway Manager, Waltair, Lalit Bohra; Chief Administrative Officer (Construction) Ankush Gupta, Chief Bridge Engineer Ashok Kumar; Chief Engineer (Construction) Srinivasa Rao; Chief Electrical Engineer (Construction) Sansanwala; Chief Signal Engineer, Chief Signal & Telecom Engineer (Construction); Deputy CRS officers and other officers from the Division accompanied Commissioner Railway Safety during the inspection. The newly laid section features 60 kg rails, including major and minor bridges and curves, constructed to accommodate a 25 T axle load. The inspection was completed, speed trials were conducted successfully, and authorisation was received for full-fledged commissioning. It is part of the doubling project of the Koraput-Rayagada line. This was achieved through the concerted efforts of the Civil Engineering, Signal & Telecom, and Electrical departments of the Construction Organisation, in close coordination with operations and traffic planning by the Waltair Division, according to K. Saandeep, Senior Divisional Commercial Manager of Waltair. The work involved navigating tough geographical terrain, cutting through hard rock, and navigating steep gradients and curves. As a part of this project, several traffic facilities, including new cross-overs laid at station yards, high-level platforms, and bridges, were also inspected.
