Ariana Grande Releases "Eternal Sunshine" Deluxe Album, "Brighter Days Ahead" Short Film
Yara Sameh Ariana Grande released Friday the highly-anticipated deluxe edition of her album, "Eternal Sunshine", along with a nearly 30-minute short film, "Brighter Days Ahead". Set to a backdrop of the album's songs, the short film picks up 70 years after the Wicked star's 'We Can't Be Friends (Wait for Your Love)' music video. In that music video, she plays Peaches, a heartbroken young woman visiting a clinic named Brighter Days Inc. to have the memories of her lost love (played by Evan Peters) wiped from her mind. In "Brighter Days Ahead", Grande is now an elderly woman, visiting the same clinic to try its new procedure, memory restoration. The service comes at a price, according to a release: The relived memories are permanently erased after viewing. Throughout the short film, Grande's Peaches looks back at her life through clips of memories, including what appear to be real childhood home videos of the chart-topping pop star. The extended edition of the original 13-song project features six new tracks, including 'Twilight Zone,' 'Warm,' 'Dandelion,' 'Past Life,' 'Hampstead' and 'Intro (End of the World) Extended,' a longer version of the emotional opening track on the original LP. "Eternal Sunshine" originally dropped almost exactly a year ago, in March 2024. The album's standard release was then followed by a 'Slightly Deluxe' version of the album, with four additional tracks: 'Yes, And?' with Mariah Carey, 'Supernatural' with Troye Sivan, an acoustic recording of 'Imperfect for You' and an a capella version of 'True Story.' The "Wicked" star has had a whirlwind year since the release of "Eternal Sunshine". She earned her first Oscar nomination for her role of Glinda in the adaptation of the hit stage musical; the film's second part, "Wicked: For Good", is slated to be released later this year. Grande and co-star Cynthia Erivo also opened the 2025 Academy Awards. The 'Thank U, Next' singer kicked the performance off with her rendition of 'Somewhere Over the Rainbow.' Erivo then presented 'Home' from The Wiz. The pair then performed a section of Wicked's 'Defying Gravity.' Special fan screenings of "Brighter Days Ahead" are being held on Sunday (March 30) in L.A., New York, Chicago and Grande's hometown of Boca Raton, Florida. An Elderly Ariana Grande Relives Memories in ‘Brighter Days Ahead' Short Film
What would the release of Ariana Grande's Eternal Sunshine Deluxe be without Peaches? Her beloved character returns to star in the new short film Brighter Days Ahead. Like the videos for the singles 'We Can't Be Friends (Wait for Your Love)' and the Penn Badgley-starring 'The Boy Is Mine,' the 26-minute film is directed by Grande and Christian Breslauer, and inspired by 2004's Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. Only unlike the last time, an elderly Grande is about to relive curated moments from her life, both happy and heartbreaking. Sitting in a wheelchair, a nurse ushers her into the high-tech room, and asks her which memories she wants to revisit. Grande passes her a piece of paper, which reads 'All of them.' Grande takes the immersive journey, selecting memories that appear as glass spheres. Songs from the Eternal Sunshine play during each memory: a present-day Grande performs the title track, while she sings 'Supernatural' walking amidst a city in ruins. A separate scene shows her her father, the Brighter Days Inc. founder and doctor, bringing her back to life à la Frankenstein, after she's torn apart by stray cats as 'Hampstead' plays. After she experiences these memories, they're erased forever. Grande teased the Brighter Days Ahead film during her massive Wicked promotional tour, mentioning it in a Vanity Fair interview and at the Golden Globes. 'There's something I made last year that will come out eventually,' she hinted during the latter. 'It's an attachment of Eternal Sunshine. So, that does exist, and that will be coming out at some point. But no, I'm not in the studio at the moment.' On Sunday, Brighter Days Ahead will screen for fans in New York, Los Angeles, Boca Raton, and Chicago. Ariana Grande teases ‘Brighter Days'—Eternal Sunshine deluxe album incoming?
ALBAWABA - Fans of Ariana Grande are excited about the upcoming "Brighter Days." The pop singer has kept fans guessing about what's next by being transparent about the extent of her "Eternal Sunshine" album cycle. She has apparently started the process by creating an enticing teaser, even if it doesn't seem like she's ready to announce yet. The cinematic teaser is thought to be for the companion deluxe for "Sunshine," and it was shared jointly by Grande and the Instagram account Brighter Days. The number-one hits "yes, and?" and "we can't be friends" are from the original edition of the chart-topping LP. Despite her highly anticipated appearance in Wicked, Ariana Grande has failed to deliver any wins since the 2025 awards season ended. The "We Can't Be Friends (Wait For Your Love)" singer's supporters have remained steadfast throughout it all. Grande will soon give a memento of her gratitude, seemingly as a thank you. Ariana Grande quietly confirmed the long-awaited release of her Eternal Sunshine Deluxe album today (March 8) with a short teaser. The video, available here, features the boxing and subsequent burning of a teddy bear and other sentimental objects. A figure is seen navigating amid the rubble as the camera cuts to the debris strewn across the pavement. Ariana Grande Instagram profile The revised pre-save link and the post being shared with the account Brighter Days Inc. (a reference to the original Eternal Sunshine) both suggest this, even if the uploaded image lacked a caption confirming it. Four more songs were added to the project by Grande in March 2024: "Imperfect For You (Acoustic)," "True Story (Acapella)," "Yes, And?," which included Mariah Carey, and "Supernatural," which featured Troye Sivan. Fans, however, anticipated more was coming. "It's funny because I really thought that it was just a very concise body of work, and I think, forever in my head, Eternal Sunshine is that album," Grande said when she verified this during an appearance on Penn Badgley's Podcrushed podcast. However, as time progresses, I recognize the need to incorporate some new ideas. I would like to make a deluxe at some time, though I have been writing a lot and may have more to write. Although a rough release date is still unknown, the pre-order and pre-save link (available here) is active.
