Ava Phillippe Had a Hilarious Reaction to Her Boyfriend Being Compared to Dad Ryan Phillippe
When it comes to Ava Phillippe, she's been compared to her famous parents, Reese Witherspoon and Ryan Phillippe, her entire life. In every video she posts, every picture she shares, fans will be all over the comment section pointing out just how similar she looks to her parents when they were younger. But her latest post has apparently hit a nerve. On TikTok, the 25-year-old, who recently made her acting debut in Doctor Odyssey, posted a video alongside her boyfriend, Dakota Brubaker, singing to Kesha's 2010 song, 'Your Love Is My Drug.' While Ava sang the lyrics in a light brown off-the-shoulder top, brown belt, and jeans, Brubaker rocked out in the back in a black tank top, black sunglasses, and baggy jeans. In the comment section, fans not only continued to call out how Ava looks like her parents, but started making connections between her boyfriend (whom she's been dating since late 2024) and her dad. 'Close enough,' one commenter wrote. 'Welcome back Reese & Ryan!' 'Why is he giving Sebastian? 😌' another fan wrote, referencing Ryan's iconic role in the 1999 film Cruel Intentions. To the first comment above, Ava responded in another video. In it, Brubaker, now rocking a black long-sleeved turtleneck, removes his reading glasses and joins Ava in looking appalled at the camera. For all the Cruel Intentions fans out there, the look is almost exactly like the one Ryan wears in the movie. Coincidence much? In the video, Ava and Brubaker then join in mouthing 'no' over and over again while the song 'Bittersweet Symphony' by The Verve plays (which just so happens to be the final song in Cruel Intentions). If you ask us, they're totally in on the joke. 'You guys… whaaaaattt,' Ava wrote in the caption. In the comment section, fans continue to stand by the comparison. 'If not Cruel Intentions, why Cruel Intentions shaped?' one commenter joked. We couldn't agree more! Prior to her videos, rumors had circulated about a rift between Ava and her dad. But, in a recent interview with Elite Daily in May, Ava seemingly squashed any rumors of a feud. 'I've had a really good guiding light in my parents,' Ava told the outlet. Reese Witherspoon 's nepo baby Ava Phillippe was left mortified after her TikTok followers pointed out an awkward detail about her and her live-in boyfriend, Dakota Brubaker, on Wednesday. The 25-year-old model responded to a comment which referred to the pair as 'Reese & Ryan' - implying that they resemble her mother and her ex-husband Ryan Phillippe. Ava - who's named after Ava Gardner - visibly cringed at the comment, waving her hands no, while Dakota looked equally uncomfortable. In the caption, Ava wrote: 'You guys, whaaaaattt.' However, she also leaned into the comparison by having the anthem from her famous folks' 1999 movie Cruel Intentions - The Verve's 1997 hit Bittersweet Symphony - playing in the background. in the clip Brubaker wore glasses and a black turtleneck to more authentically portray Ryan's character Sebastian Valmont, who seduces the innocent Annette Hargrove (Reese) in Roger Kumble's modern adaptation of the 1782 novel Les Liaisons Dangereuses. Famous mumma: Ava with her actress mom Reese Witherspoon Reese and Ryan are also parents of 21-year-old son Deacon Phillippe but divorced in 2007 after seven years of marriage.
