If you take Cluedo a little too seriously, this immersive dinner could be the next best activity date for you. I went along to The Perfect Bite experience, with tantalising drama and a murder to be solved Ever fancied yourself as Sherlock Holmes or Benoit Blanc? Or maybe you watched the Knives Out films and thought you'd love to be involved in a whodunnit investigation? Either way, if you're looking to add a little more bite to your usual romantic dinner, The Perfect Bite could be the next best dinner date idea. The Perfect Bite - hosted at Gaucho, City of London - adds a tantalising twist to your standard meal, serving up an evening of entertainment while you enjoy your steak and chips. By attending this limited time event, you're signing yourself up to a delicious four-course meal but you'll have to work for it, as you attempt to solve a twist-filled murder mystery, led by detective Logan Locke. READ MORE: Daniel Craig looks unrecognisable as he steps out in Venice with wife Rachel Weisz I have to say I wasn't expecting the level of suspense while enjoying my meal. Couples were embroiled in full blow arguments, suspects had breakdowns as we questioned them over their involvement and double lives were exposed. I worked alongside three other guests to find clues between courses, and watch the drama unfold as suspects revealed their true colours as the plot thickened. The Perfect Bite serves as an ideal immersive experience for a group of friends or as an exciting change to your usual date night. I left Gaucho feeling fulfilled, not only had I enjoyed a tasty meal, but I'd also solved a murder and had a decent dose of drama to go and tell my friends about. The Perfect Bite is inspired by Netflix 's Knives Out, which is set for a third instalment. Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery sees Daniel Craig reprising his role as the charming sleuth Benoit. Joining him is an A-list cast including Josh O'Connor (known for Challengers and The Crown), Cailee Spaeny (Alien: Romulus, Priscilla), Mila Kunis (Black Swan) and the legendary Glenn Close (Fatal Attraction, 101 Dalmations). Jeremy Renner is also making a comeback to the franchise. Devotees will recall his stint as the mascot for a hot sauce brand in Glass Onion, but his character in Wake Up Dead Man is entirely unrelated. The latest instalment will hit the streaming service on December 12, 2025, but Craig admitted that he'd love for the movie to go into theatres. 'Hopefully, Netflix will push it out a bit, and people will get to see it. The people I speak to – the fans, I suppose – all they want to do is take their families and go see it at the cinemas. That's all they want to do. Hopefully we can give them that experience,' the former James Bond star told Variety. Netflix's first-look prompted reactions from fans, with one saying: "Let's go. Love Daniel Craig in this role," while another commented: "I'm just here for Benoit Blanc's Southern charm and all the chaos in between." Another film enthusiast predicted: "This mystery is shaping up to be the best one yet." How is Trump hurting the Massachusetts economy? Let me count the ways.
But 2025 has flipped this dynamic on its head. Since January, the state's unemployment rate has jumped above the US rate and is rising far faster. We are also among the states with the Indeed, there's a decent argument that Massachusetts has already fallen into a mild local recession, particularly judging from state tax collections. Sales tax receipts have flatlined in recent months, suggesting a worrisome pullback in consumer spending. Meanwhile, income from paychecks is decelerating fast, having fallen by half from its 2024 average. Advertisement It doesn't take a Hercule Poirot or Benoit Blanc to figure out why the Massachusetts economy is fading faster than the rest of the country: Blame the unfriendly regime in Washington, D.C. National economic policy is increasingly organized as a kind of anti-Massachusetts economic policy, including a battery of targeted assaults at the ramparts of our economic strength. And I'm not even talking about the needless tariffs and the nettlesome trade war, since those are hitting states far more exposed to disruptions in international trade than Massachusetts. Advertisement Rather, let's start with the economic fallout from the Trump administration's direct attack on Harvard. Harvard is a huge job creator and sustaining force in the local economy. It sends paychecks to professors in Brookline, lab technicians from Somerville, and valued staff members from Beverly to Quincy. It sustains local businesses in the Longwood neighborhood and Harvard Square. And it pursues long-term regional planning and large capital projects (in Allston and elsewhere) with a scale and consistency matched only by local governments. The federal government has hampered all of this economic activity by freezing government grants, introducing a new endowment tax, and blunting Harvard's ability to attract foreign students. Hiring will slow. Construction plans will be put on hold. And even people who continue to collect their Harvard paychecks are likely to spend less of them, since their financial futures are now less secure. Combined, these direct and indirect effects will likely sap several billion dollars from the local economy every year. And that's just one institution. Dozens of other colleges and universities in Massachusetts face similar, though more muted threats. About 4 percent of all the income earned in the state Advertisement Add the imperiled research grants that normally go to our nation-leading medical centers, and Massachusetts may be more vulnerable than any other state in the country. No one gets more federal health and science funding, amounting to a good deal more than That makes another turn of the economic screw, because health care has traditionally been a great economic stabilizer for Massachusetts. Now massive threatened cuts to federal grants are bringing austerity to research hospitals, just as they've done at universities. The list goes on, from the foundering of offshore wind to the risk of looming Medicaid cuts. And while the state can draw on some of its strengths — its ample rainy day fund, its lack of divided government, and the stability of property taxes — it will be hard to prevent the state economy from further cracking in the heat of this hostile climate. Ultimately, the broadest and most far-reaching problem may be the Trump administration's general distaste for our state's progressive values: its belief that we are tainted by 'wokeness,' by unchecked immigration, and by our enduring commitment to things like vaccines, transgender rights, and abortion access. We are not the only such target. California is a major scapegoat — see the current immigration standoff or reports of a And this is why an economic slowdown seems so unavoidable for Massachusetts. Not only are we being dragged down by the war against Harvard, against university culture, and against the kind of research that has made us a hub of innovation. But businesses and families rightly feel that they cannot take risks, cannot make big new investments, cannot pursue promising new ventures or leave their jobs for new careers. If things don't work out, there may be a Massachusetts-sized hole in the safety net. Advertisement

'Knives Out '3: All About the Star-Studded Netflix Film, Including First Teaser and Release Date
Daniel Craig will return in the third Knives Out movie, which premieres later this year New cast members include Josh O'Connor and Glenn Close The first teaser showed Craig's Benoit Blanc solving "the impossible crime"Benoit Blanc (Daniel Craig) is officially making his return later this year. Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery, the third installment of the popular Knives Out murder mystery franchise, is set to debut on Netflix in December 2025. In the first teaser — which was released on May 31 — Blanc can be seen attempting to solve the "holy grail" of mysteries. Following the success of Knives Out and its sequel Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery, a third film was first announced in March 2021, when Netflix bought the rights to the Knives Out franchise in a reported $400 million deal that included a second and third film. Filming for the movie wrapped in August 2024, and several details have already been teased by Craig and Rian Johnson, the writer and director of the first two films. Fans also believe that the second film offers a major clue about the plot of the third film. From the returning cast to the release date, here's everything to know about Knives Out 3, a.k.a. Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery. Craig is slated to reprise his role as detective Benoit Blanc in the upcoming film. Seeing as Johnson has described the film trilogy as an anthology, it's unlikely that any other cast members from Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery will return. In May 2024, several new cast members were announced, including Fleabag actor Andrew Scott, Challengers actor Josh O'Connor and Priscilla actress Cailee Spaeny. Glenn Close is also among those joining the cast of Wake Up Dead Man. In August 2024, she told PEOPLE that filming the movie was "truly one of the best experiences of my life." 'I'm filming in London with Rian Johnson,' she said. 'He's such a fine human being. He's kind, he's brilliant. He has a great laugh!' She went on to praise Johnson for creating a "cast from heaven." 'This coming two weeks, we have scenes where all of us are in the same room, and I just can't wait to see what he does and what he does and what she does. It's so much fun," she said. An official plot for Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery hasn't been announced yet, though some fans believe the second film includes an Easter egg about the storyline for the upcoming movie. In one of the early scenes from the film, when everyone is surprised to see Benoit Blanc at the dock, Claire Debella (Kathryn Hahn) asks, "Did you solve the murder of — oh — whatshername — the ballet dancer thing, that's you?" Some viewers believe this is a hint that the third film could actually be a prequel about one of Benoit Blanc's earlier cases. In a clip shared by Netflix announcing the film's official title, a voiceover states that this will be Blanc's 'most dangerous case yet.' Johnson, who directed both Knives Out and Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery, will return to direct the third film. He will also pen the script for the upcoming movie. As Johnson revealed on X, filming began on June 10, 2024, and wrapped on Aug. 17, 2024. "Aaaand that's a wrap on Wake Up Dead Man. Went so fast! Best crew, incredible cast, this was a really special shoot and I cannot wait to put it together," he wrote. While a full trailer for Knives Out 3 hasn't been released yet, Netflix did release a new teaser trailer for the upcoming movie in May 2025. The teaser shows a first glimpse of Craig in action as Benoit Blanc, who walks through an old cemetery as he attempts to solve what he calls his "most dangerous case yet.' Though less than a minute of footage is included in the teaser, it seems the new film will take on a darker tone than Glass Onion did, with plenty of religious imagery to go around. At Netflix's 2025 Tudum event, the streaming service announced that Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery will be released on Dec. 12, 2025. While Netflix hasn't greenlit a fourth film, Johnson is on board to make more movies if the script is right. "If each one of these can really be what Agatha Christie did, if it can be not just in a totally new location and a new cast, but also trying something exciting, I'll keep doing it as long as Daniel [Craig] and I are having a good time. I'll keep making these as long as they let me," he told Variety in 2022. Craig echoed those same thoughts while speaking with Deadline, adding, "If people are interested, then we'll make them. But if there ever came a point where either Rian and I thought we were just churning them out, I think we would back away. I mean, I just don't think that's what either of us want to do in life. Unless people are getting genuine fun out of them, forget it." Read the original article on People

Daniel Craig returns as Detective Benoit Blanc in the newest Knives Out mystery trailer, and fans can't keep calm; watch
If there's one thing OTT has mastered, it's turning murder mysteries into comfort food. Knives Out — the now-iconic whodunnit series crafted by Rian Johnson — has managed to stay razor-sharp through its clever storytelling, absurdly rich characters, and the ever-charismatic presence of Daniel Craig as detective Benoit Blanc. Now, the long-awaited trailer for the third film, Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery, has finally dropped, and it's everything fans had hoped for, and then some. This time, Benoit Blanc isn't just solving another murder — he's entering a whole new tone. With a slightly rugged new look and that unmistakable Southern drawl, Craig returns to anchor what appears to be a darker, more gothic entry in the franchise. As always, he's backed by an all-star cast: Josh O'Connor, Glenn Close, Josh Brolin, Mila Kunis, Jeremy Renner, Kerry Washington, Andrew Scott, Cailee Spaeny, Daryl McCormack, and Thomas Haden Church are all set to appear, adding major star power to this next mystery. The internet, as expected, had a lot to say. Reddit lit up the moment the trailer hit screens, with reactions ranging from hyped to emotional. 'Southern Gothic Knives Out? Fuck yeah I'm in,' declared one user, perfectly summing up the collective mood. Another said, 'I'm happy to see the tonal shift from movie to movie. I wasn't a fan of Glass Onion. It was a little too on the nose for me, but I recognise a lot of people enjoyed it. Hoping to enjoy the third one as much as I did the first — this trailer certainly does much more to appeal to my tastes.' One comment read, 'Love all the previous movies in this franchise; can't wait to see what they do with this one.' Another fan added, 'I'm digging the murder mystery genre lately. Between this and the Brannagh Poirot movies, I have been spoiled.' Still, perhaps the highest praise came from a fan reflecting on Daniel Craig's post-Bond career: 'Daniel Craig could do this series for the rest of his life and I wouldn't complain... love that he's found his niche so quickly after his long stint as 007. I don't think any other James Bond actor has ever found such a compelling franchise after 007 like Craig has, very impressive 👏.' Knives Out began with a simple but delightfully twisted premise: a wealthy crime novelist dies on his 85th birthday, and everyone in the family is a suspect. The 2019 original was both a tribute to Agatha Christie-style mysteries and a clever social satire, earning critical acclaim and box office success. Its sequel, Glass Onion, took Benoit Blanc to a Greek island for a tech billionaire's murder-mystery party that turns fatally real. While some fans found it too on-the-nose, others praised its playful critique of the ultra-rich and clueless. Now, with Wake Up Dead Man, it seems Johnson is once again shifting gears — taking us deeper into darker territory while maintaining the franchise's ridiculously enjoyable plotting. And thank goodness, because murder has never looked so good!
