1,260 aircraft due: IndiGo, Air India among Airbus' biggest customers with largest backlog

Airbus has said that IndiGo and Air India have become two of its three largest airline customers globally in terms of aircraft backlog. According to Benoit de Saint-Exupery, Executive Vice President (sales, commercial aircraft) at Airbus, the European aerospace company has to deliver 916 aircraft to IndiGo and 344 to Air India. A majority of these aircraft are narrow-body models. Malaysia-based AirAsia Group, which earlier operated a joint venture airline in India with the Tata Group, holds the second position with 393 planes in its backlog. Speaking in Delhi during the International Air Transport Association (IATA) Annual General Meeting, Benoit offered a positive update for airlines waiting for delayed aircraft deliveries. 'We are seeing the first signs of stability in supply chain. We (are) now back to the pre-Covid level of producing 60 A320 family of single aisle planes every month and hope to increase this number to 75 by 2027. We have the orders and are ramping up production and every commercial (Airbus) aircraft that's flying going forward will be made partly made in India,' he said. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like If You Eat Ginger Everyday for 1 Month This is What Happens Tips and Tricks Undo When asked whether the combined order book of 1,750 aircraft from IndiGo and Air India makes a case for a final assembly line (FAL) in India, Benoit said, 'We will have final assembly lines on the other products (one for H125 helicopters for its civil range and other for C295 military aircraft). On commercial aircraft side, we are looking at expanding our footprint with industry here in India. Sourcing from India has much value than an FAL for commercial aircraft and we are constantly increasing the same from here.' Benoit added that Airbus sourcing from India stood at $500 million in 2020. That figure crossed $1 billion in 2023 and reached $1.4 billion last year. 'We will reach $2 billion before the end of the decade,' he said. Live Events Remi Maillard, President of Airbus India and Managing Director of South Asia region, said, 'India is not only a market for us. It has become a strategic resource and industrial base for Airbus.' Speaking again on the delays in deliveries caused by supply chain disruptions, Benoit said, 'Now we are seeing the first signs of stability in the supply chain. But you, you never quite rest because, as we all know, the situation can change quite quickly nowadays.' The rising backlog of aircraft to Indian carriers highlights the country's growing importance in the global aviation market. At the same time, Airbus's increasing sourcing from India reflects the company's broader strategy of deepening its industrial engagement in the country, even as it focuses on production ramp-up to meet global demand. Have to deliver maximum planes to IndiGo, AI: Airbus

NEW DELHI: For Airbus, IndiGo and Air India are now among the top three airline customers globally with the maximum backlog or aircraft yet to be delivered, according to the aerospace major's EVP (sales, commercial aircraft) Benoit de Saint-Exupery. It has to deliver 916 and 344 aircraft, majority of which are narrow body, to IndiGo and AI, respectively, said an official. Malaysia-based AirAsia Group, which once used to run a JV airline in India with the Tatas, is at the second spot at 393 planes. In Delhi for the IATA AGM, Benoit had some good news for airlines that are getting increasingly frustrated with delivery delays (including from Boeing too). "We are seeing the first signs of stability in supply chain. We (are) now back to the pre-Covid level of producing 60 A320 family of single aisle planes every month and hope to increase this number to 75 by 2027. We have the orders and are ramping up production and every commercial (Airbus) aircraft that's flying going forward will be made partly made in India," Benoit said. Asked if the order book for 1,750 planes from IndiGo and AI makes a case for India to get a final assembly line (FAL), Benoit said: "We will have final assembly lines on the other products (one for H125 helicopters for its civil range and other for C295 military aircraft). by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Anvisa aprova solução para ajudar a reduzir gordura visceral da barriga em 7 dias! Taylor Swift Floral Dôen Set Is the Perf Date Night Outfit

Taylor Swift has been a litttle busy as of late dealing with Blake Lively lawsuit drama, working on her (alleged) new album, and buying back the masters for all six of her records—for a casual $360 million, I might add. But, somehow, she's still squeezed in some time for date nights with Travis Kelce and a gossip sesh with her besties. Taylor stepped out in Palm Beach early last week in a poppy print matching set from Dôen, before traveling back to New York for a Via Carota dinner with Dakota Johnson. Keeping with the week's theme, she opted for a black floral dress from the same Cali Cool vintage-inspired label. While Taylor's Benoit dress sold out in her Noir Wild Rise pattern (and is nearly out of stock in every other version, too), the Marcie Skirt and matching Traveler Top are somehow still in stock. So, let's talk about it. The two-piece set is made from a lightweight blend of organic cotton and viscose for a breezy and easy-to-wear fabric (perf for Taylor's Florida evening) and features Dôen's springy '30s-inspired Poppy Field print. The skirt has a high-waist design and maxi silhouette that hits just at the ankle and an invisible side zipper, which makes it easy to slip in (or out!) of. The top is crafted from the same fabric and has the identical Poppy Field print for a cohesive look. It has the perfect crop and scoop neckline with a ribbon tie and mother-of-pearl buttons down the front. Plus, it has scalloped eyelets and ladder trim at the neckline, sleeve openings, and hemline for a sweet finish. I'm hardly surprised Taylor went with two Dôen looks in one week. She's constantly reaching for the brand. In fact, she even wore a tank from the label for her first-ever Kansas City Chiefs game. But, while the poppy print set isn't quite as expensive as the head-to-toe Gucci look she wore for dinner with Selena Gomez, it's still expensy. The good news is that Gap dropped a Dôen collab that's a lil more in our price range. Next time you're getting dressed just think, 'What Would Taylor Wear?' Megan Schaltegger is an NYC-based writer. She loves strong coffee, eating her way through the Manhattan food scene, and her dog, Murray. She promises not to talk about herself in third person IRL.

Taylor Swift Seen in a Romantic Floral Dress at Dinner in NYC

Taylor Swift has returned to New York City after spending Memorial Day weekend with Travis Kelce in West Palm Beach, Florida. The singer was spotted by some lucky fans arriving at Via Carota in a black floral Dôen dress last night. Anna Majors posted footage of her table's reaction when Swift walked into the restaurant on her Instagram Story. She wrote, 'That face when you're having dinner and Taylor Swift shows up!' Swift carried a Balmain handbag and wore Dôen's Benoit dress, which hasn't sold out yet: This is her second time wearing the brand in the last two weeks. For her Florida dinner date with Kelce, Swift opted for a white poppy two-piece look. Her return to New York comes after a source close to Kelce told People on May 27 that the singer would be staying in Miami 'to support and spend time' with the Kansas City Chiefs tight end as he trains for his upcoming NFL season. The insider added that 'Travis still seems very happy with Taylor' nearly two years into dating. Swift has been seen three times this May. In addition to last night's outing, she was spotted out in Philadelphia for a Mother's Day lunch and, again, in West Palm Beach for her date last Friday. Notably, Swift chose floral looks for all of the occasions. Time will tell whether she's just embracing a classic spring trend or dropping Easter egg hints about her next era. Earlier this week, Swift surprised fans when she skipped the American Music Awards amid rumors she'd be announcing Reputation (Taylor's Version) there. Her absence was understandable, however, as the singer didn't win any awards despite having six nominations. She has been largely out of the public eye since the Super Bowl, and sources have been vocal about how much Swift is cherishing the break. An insider told Entertainment Tonight on April 23, 'She and Travis have been laying low, traveling, and enjoying some time off and quiet time together.' Last week, WNBA player Caitlin Clark, who knows both Kelce and Swift, shared a similar insight in an interview, saying '[they're] in vacation mode right now. So I hope they enjoy a nice little break out of the spotlight.'
