The world's most beautiful restaurants have been revealed for 2025 – these US eateries make the list

They're recently opened restaurants with designs as mouthwatering as the food. And that's official. A prestigious architecture award has named two restaurants in the US as among the 16 most beautiful eateries on the planet in 2025. The accolades were bestowed upon beef-cuts specialist Beefbar in New York City and Japanese-cuisine emporium Japon in Miami Beach by the UNESCO Prix Versailles competition. The judges described the décor in Beefbar, designed by the Monaco-based firm Humbert & Poyet, as "a perfect reflection of New York: a melting pot of influences from which novel expressions emanate that are as original as they are disconcerting". The judges continue: "In the trendy Tribeca neighborhood, this building with Art Deco accents features high ceilings punctuated by tall arched windows. "The interior is adorned in a lovely variety of textiles and materials, an abundance that was inspired by a kaleidoscopic vision of history: from a refined version of the historic motif in the Versailles parquet floor to a recollection of the industrial heritage of this part of Manhattan, and from garnet marble cladding to terrazzo flooring." Japon, meanwhile, is lauded for "blending traditional Japanese craft with modern elements.' The judges continue: "Envisioned by chefs Vijayudu Veena and Iván Monzón, this project contains all the exuberance and vibrant playfulness of this Floridian town and its multiple influences. "The crane – a Japanese symbol of elegance, luck and natural beauty – is at the heart of the design narrative created by Saladino Design Studios. Its image welcomes diners at the entrance and continues across various materials, from mosaics to fabrics." This restaurant has "an atmosphere with charm as timeless as it is unreal,' the judges add. Also making the list is Ladurée Rue Royale in Paris, France – a refurbished version of the original Ladurée tea room dating back to 1862. Prix Versailles says: "The hewn stone façade is resolutely Parisian, to be sure, but once visitors set foot inside the shop, which has been returned to its initial configuration, they are transported back in time through centuries and revolutions." The French capital is also represented on the ranking by Ducasse Baccarat, in the former home of modern art muse Marie-Laure de Noailles (1902-1970) near the Arc de Triomphe. It now houses an Alain Ducasse restaurant and features a "subtle fusion of raw materials with precious Baccarat crystal". The judges add: "Contemporary artwork, furniture that honours the best French artisans, and plays of light and shadow make the experience unique." Other restaurants on the esteemed list include the "unique" Smoked Room in Dubai; Lobster Club in Palma de Mallorca, lauded as feeling like "a summer's day by the seashore"; Julie's in the Notting Hill district of London, a restaurant with a "distinctive, decadent style"; and Coro in Orvieto, Italy, housed in a deconsecrated 16th-century church. The world's most beautiful restaurants for 2025 Gerbou, Dubai, United Arab Emirates Smoked Room, Dubai, United Arab Emirates Blackswan, Beijing, China Ōrtensia, Shanghai, China Lobster Club, Palma de Mallorca, Spain Bouchon Carême, Helsinki, Finland Ladurée Rue Royale, Paris, France Ducasse Baccarat, Paris, France Julie's, London, United Kingdom Shell, Nusa Penida, Indonesia Coro, Orvieto, Italy Seven Island, Busan, Republic of Korea Kimyona, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia Another Smith, Tha Sai Luat, Thailand Beefbar, New York, United States Japón, Miami Beach, United States Jérôme Gouadain, Secretary General of the Prix Versailles, explained the function of architecture at these new establishments: "When we have a meal, we remember the taste of the dishes, the scent of a venue, the soundtrack of a meeting, and perhaps the recollection of an object. But who could really describe it all? What's certain is that a lived experience is, first and foremost, a human, inner experience that is shared and unique. "In this arena, architecture has an eminently paradoxical, almost maternal, role to play, attracting guests into its warm embrace, enveloping them with its shapes and forms, and completely effacing itself to put the focus on the feast. It's impossible not to recognise the mission that is incumbent upon design here. "Today, the Prix Versailles is shining a light on 16 effective, coherent and distinctly initiatory approaches marked by that humility, each one existing to feed its guests' bodies and souls."

This New York steakhouse was named one of the World's Most Beautiful Restaurants

Of course, we want our dinner to taste good—but it doesn't hurt when it looks good, too. And the lovely venues featured on Prix Versailles' 2025 list of the World's Most Beautiful Restaurants, including a certain stunning New York steakhouse, are definitely a feast for the eyes. As it recently had done with picturesque hotel properties, the Prix Versailles —a series of international awards given annually in the field of architecture—released its list of the world's most visually stunning dining rooms on June 16, recently opened spots that "are evidence of the dominant aesthetic and cultural dynamics around the world," per organizers. And while much of the list is devoted to gorgeous eateries in far-flung locales (like Blackswan in Beijing, China; Bouchon Carême in Helsinki, Finland; Gerbou in Dubai, UAE; and Coro in Orvieto, Italy), one of this year's picks is delightfully closer to home: New York's own Beefbar. Founded by Riccardo Giraudi, with locations in Cannes, Mykonos, London and Hong Kong, the Monte Carlo-born meat concept took over the former Nobu space in spring 2024, bringing its prime cuts and plush setting to Tribeca. "The new location's décor, designed by the Monaco-based firm Humbert & Poyet, is a perfect reflection of New York: a melting pot of influences from which novel expressions emanate, that are as original as they are disconcerting," praises the Prix Versailles. The opulent dining room features tall arched windows, antique mirrors, velvet bench seats and bronze-alabaster sconces. Framed with fluted red and white marble, both the grand kitchen and the meat display cabinet are in view from the seating area, giving you a peek at all of the glorious meat sweats to come. Calling Beefbar's good looks as "oh-so-American yet rooted in Europe," the design-loving list pointed to the interior's "lovely variety of textiles and materials, an abundance that was inspired by a kaleidoscopic vision of history: from a refined version of the historic motif in the Versailles parquet floor to a recollection of the industrial heritage of this part of Manhattan, and from garnet marble cladding to terrazzo flooring." Beefbar was joined on the list by only one other American dining room: Japón at The Setai in Miami Beach, Florida. You can check out the rest of the global list below. Cairo's Latest Luxury Hotel Is a 560-Room Palace

Spanning 33,000 square metres, Giza Palace Cairo brings a Michelin-starred chef and a ballroom big enough for a thousand guests to the city's western edge. Just a short drive from the Grand Egyptian Museum and the timeless silhouettes of the Pyramids, Giza Palace Cairo—the metropolis's newest luxury hotel—has officially opened its doors. Developed by Egypt's Travco Group and newly listed among 'The Leading Hotels of the World,' the hotel spans 33,000 square metres and houses 560 rooms and suites. Set within a fast-changing pocket of West Cairo—where glassy developments, residential projects, and dining hubs have steadily taken root—Giza Palace Cairo introduces a space that folds Egyptian aesthetics into a contemporary urban setting. Inside, the offering leans lifestyle-forward: a Mediterranean restaurant by Michelin-starred chef Sergi Arola, the international concept Beefbar, a sprawling spa, rooftop padel court, and a ballroom with space for over a thousand guests. Concierge services cover the usual circuits—private pyramid tours, bespoke Nile cruises—but filtered through a sleeker lens. The result is a hotel that seems designed to bridge Cairo's ancient pull with its more polished, present-day ambitions.

Hotel review: Andronis Arcadia, Santorini

Perched on a hillside in the picturesque village of Oia, Andronis Arcadia is a secluded resort with incredible views, capturing the essence of Santorini's natural beauty. With 114 suites and villas, this expansive yet intimate resort stands out as a tranquil retreat from the island's lively energy. Its combination of chic design, modern indulgence, and timeless charm makes it one of the most memorable stays in Santorini. Rooms and facilities From the moment I stepped into the hotel, I was mesmerised by the view: a seemingly infinite stretch of blue where the sea and sky blur into one. Each room at Andronis Arcadia faces west, so all guests can enjoy Santorini's famous sunsets. From my private terrace (every room has one, as well as a small pool), it was impossible to tell where the horizon ended, the deep blue waters of the Aegean merging effortlessly with the sky. Every aspect of the hotel's design feels intentional. The suites and villas embrace an organic, earthy aesthetic with natural tones of stone and wood, perfectly mirroring the landscape of Oia. Think clean lines, airy spaces, and floor-to-ceiling windows that flood the rooms with light and showcase those incredible views. The resort has the largest infinity pool on the island: a spectacular centrepiece that feels as endless as the sea itself. It's one of the most peaceful places to take in the island's panoramic beauty and the swim-up bar and soothing beats of the resident DJ add even more luxury. Food and drink The culinary offerings at Andronis Arcadia take already fabulous Mediterranean cuisine to a new level, with inventive and often surprising twists. The hotel's signature restaurant, Pacman, offers Greek classics adapted into innovative sushi rolls for a unique fusion of flavours that you won't find anywhere else on the island. The fresh, local ingredients mean dishes are every bit as vibrant as Santorini's landscape. Wash it down with an expertly crafted cocktail while listening to live DJs. For meat lovers, the Beefbar restaurant is an absolute must. Specialising in anything protein, this upscale restaurant redefines the traditional steakhouse with Mediterranean influences – think quesadillas with wagyu beef and mash with jalapeños. Mornings begin with delightful breakfast spreads featuring fresh pastries, Greek yogurt with honey and other local delicacies, all served outdoors so you can take in the sunrise. Hotel highlights The Evexia Spa was one of the main highlights of my stay. It offers a range of treatments, all designed to restore balance and well-being. I opted for a full-body massage, and the therapist's expertise combined with the serene environment made for a deeply soothing experience, leaving me rejuvenated and completely at ease. The spa also has signature Kneipp pools: a special 'L' shape with one side cold, the other hot. Different shaped stones that ignite reflexology points in the base of the feet line of each pool's floor, for a unique water therapy experience. Blissful! What to do Nearby Try the local fine dining option Visit Lycabettus restaurant at the Andronis Suites just up the road for cliffside fine dining. There's a nine-course tasting menu packed with amazing ingredients from lobster and scallops to wagyu striploin and red shrimp tartare. With the restaurant's iconic views over Oia, it was by far one of the most beautiful places I have ever eaten. Hop on the ferry to Paros Andronis Minois, on the nearby island of Paros, is the perfect place to continue with the relaxation. While Andronis Arcadia offers dramatic caldera views and high-energy sophistication, the Paros retreat delivers a more laid-back, island escape. There's a second-to-none dining experience at Olvo, the hotel's renowned restaurant, while the nearby town of Naoussa is fantastic for an evening out. You can soak in the vibrant local culture, explore charming shops, and enjoy the buzzing nightlife.

Where We Are Going Today: ‘Beefbar' Restaurant in Riyadh

Beefbar, originally from Monte Carlo and known for its elevated take on street food, is one of the most talked-about steakhouses in Riyadh. The space itself is beautiful — tall ceilings, dark tones and elegant interiors that give it a regal, high-end atmosphere. But my experience did not live up to the hype. We started the meal with what was supposed to be a Caesar salad, but it was watery and completely underwhelming. The croque sando sounded promising, but the flavor was flat — nothing more than an ordinary sandwich with fancy presentation. The spicy pasta was perhaps the biggest letdown of the night. The only standout dish for me was the wagyu tacos. The shells were perfectly crisp and the wagyu was cooked just right — juicy, flavorful and balanced. We also tried the New York striploin, which came with a great sauce and was cooked well, but for SR355 ($95), it did not feel special or memorable enough to justify the price. For dessert, we went with their signature marble chocolate, which was good and warm. Overall, the ambiance is impressive and the concept has potential, but most of the food was forgettable. The biggest downside? The prices are extremely high for what you get. It's a one-time visit for me. For more details, check their Instagram @beefbar_riyadh.
