These Sneakers Keep Charles Melton on the Move
Charles Melton has become a jack of all trades. From appearing on the CW's Riverdale to garnering a Golden Globe nomination for his role in May December, the actor is always looking for his next challenge. Most recently, he starred in Alex Garland's Warfare and wrapped season two of the critically acclaimed comedy Beef. Melton is on a mission to tackle a wide array of projects, ticking off one genre at a time. 'You're constantly evolving in life, and in turn, in your art and whatever you choose to do or show to the world,' Melton, who is Zooming in from Copenhagen, tells ELLE. 'I've been very fortunate to go from one thing to the next, to be challenged creatively, and to constantly learn and be around great filmmakers.' Now, the actor has teamed up with Coach for its latest campaign video, 'Not Just for Walking,' directed by Alma Har'el. Melton explains that throughout it all, his personal style has remained pretty low-key, and he sports his Soho sneakers wherever he goes. Below, the actor opens up about experimenting with different genres, his favorite Coach pieces, and what it's like fronting a fashion campaign. I guess it really depends on the project. Every project has its own spirit and soul. I went from TV to film, and then to filming season two of Beef. What motivates me is the filmmaker first, and then the material. I don't think it's one over the other. I'm just trying to challenge myself in everything that I do. I mean, you never want to repeat the same thing, right? I just wrapped Beef a couple of weeks ago, and man, it was definitely one of the most incredible experiences I've had. I'm excited for everyone to see it. I'm currently in production on a film with Nicolas Winding Refn that I'm very excited about, and it's been unlike anything I've done before. I'd say my style is pretty relaxed. I think sneakers are probably the most important thing for me, and that's why it's so exciting to be a part of the campaign, which touches on the courage to be real and show all facets of who you are. Whether it be an event or red carpet, it's a nice little chance to express yourself in the most authentic way you want to. I love the versatility of the Soho sneaker—it's the last thing I put on before I head out the door, and it takes me from day to night without missing a beat. I'm looking at my bag right over there—my red Coachtopia Loop backpack has also become my go-to. It's traveled with me from L.A. to Seoul to Copenhagen, and it holds everything I need while I'm on set. It's both stylish and sustainable—and it just works. My dog Naya is here with me. She took her first flight five days ago. She's a Siberian Husky, and after we finish up here we're going to do a little Euro trip together. This interview has been edited and condensed for clarity.

Is ‘The Better Sister' returning for season 2? Everything we know so far
By Aman Shukla Published on June 16, 2025, 19:00 IST Last updated June 16, 2025, 12:19 IST The Better Sister , a gripping thriller series starring Jessica Biel and Elizabeth Banks, premiered on Prime Video on May 29, 2025. Based on Alafair Burke's 2019 novel, the eight-episode limited series captivated audiences with its twisty murder mystery and complex family dynamics. Fans are now eager to know: will there be a Season 2 of The Better Sister ? Here's everything we know so far. Has The Better Sister Been Renewed for Season 2? As of June 16, 2025, Prime Video has not officially confirmed a second season for The Better Sister . The show was marketed as a limited series, and the first season fully adapts the standalone novel by Alafair Burke, resolving the central mystery of Adam Macintosh's murder. However, limited series like The White Lotus , Beef , and Good Omens have been renewed for additional seasons due to strong viewership and fan demand, leaving room for speculation. What Could Season 2 Be About? Since the first season adapts the entirety of Burke's novel, a second season would require an original storyline. Several plot threads from Season 1 could set the stage: Jake Rodriguez's Death: The shocking death of Jake, a key character and Chloe's lover, introduces a new mystery. Unlike the book, where Jake survives, the series alters his fate, potentially linking his death to the Gentry Group, a shadowy organization Adam was investigating. Season 2 could explore whether the Gentry Group targets Chloe's family in retaliation for her role in exposing them to the FBI. The Sisters' Cover-Up: Nicky's guilt in Adam's murder and Chloe's role in framing Bill Braddock could come under scrutiny. Detective Nancy Guidry (Kim Dickens) suspects Nicky's involvement after learning she knew details about the murder only the killer would know. A second season might focus on the sisters' efforts to evade justice while grappling with their moral choices. Ethan's Future: Ethan, caught in the crossfire of his family's secrets, faces ongoing challenges. His attempt to protect Chloe by staging the crime scene and his struggles with addiction could be further explored, especially as he navigates his relationship with both sisters. Where to Watch The Better Sister All eight episodes of The Better Sister Season 1 are available to stream on Prime Video. Interested viewers can catch up on the thrilling drama before any potential Season 2 updates. Ahmedabad Plane Crash Aman Shukla is a post-graduate in mass communication . Watch: ABP marks 10 years of research at demo farm
ABP Food Group hosted a special event today (Tuesday, June 10) to mark a decade of research on the ABP Demo Farm in Co. Carlow. Attended by agri-industry personnel from across Ireland, the event highlighted progress made to date on reducing climate emissions and improving on-farm efficiency. The Sheppard family-owned, 280ac dairy-beef farm, has partnered with ABP since 2015. The partnership was established to test and validate practical on-farm solutions to reducing greenhouse gas emissions from beef production, whilst also increasing efficiency. The ABP Demo Farm research is in collaboration with, and independently verified by, Teagasc and the Irish Cattle Breeding Federation (ICBF). The key findings and achievements from the ABP Demo Farm to date include: The farm's carbon footprint is 32% lower than the average beef farm in Ireland, based on Bord Bia data, with steers finished 180 days earlier (ABP Beef Benchmark Report); The research findings indicate that high genetic merit beef sires, compared to lower-merit sires, produce cattle that are on average 38kg heavier and worth €301/head more at the same slaughter age. The gap between the best and worst sires reached 62kg in carcass weight and €511 in carcass value; Hereford cattle ranked in the top third of the Commercial Beef Value (CBV) and delivered €220 more in returns than those in the bottom third; Over 5,500 cattle have gone through the trial programme to date with more than 80,000 live-weights recorded from the trial farm alone; 150,000 doses of semen have been distributed through the Gene Ireland Programme; Progeny from 279 AI beef bulls have been tested, with these sires going on to produce 885,000 calves on Irish farms. The establishment of the ABP Demo Farm followed findings from ABP's work with the Science-Based Targets Initiative (SBTi), which revealed that over 90% of emissions across its supply chain occur at farm level. Ongoing and future research initiatives at the ABP Demo Farm include: Working with the ICBF, Teagasc, and Meat Technology Ireland (MTI) to develop genetic strategies for earlier finishing and lower daily methane emissions; Participation in the Water EIP Programme with Teagasc and the Local Authority Waters Programme (LAWPRO) to enhance water quality without compromising productivity, with three ABP team members currently training to support farmers through this scheme; Being the first beef farm in Ireland to adopt the Glasport Bio GasAbate slurry inoculation system, which Teagasc has shown reduces methane emissions by 80% and ammonia by 50%; Running a second-year grazing study in partnership with University College Dublin and BiOrbic, comparing multi-species swards and perennial ryegrass in terms of animal performance, grass growth, fertiliser use, and environmental impact; Measuring soil carbon stocks through 273 soil samples across different depths to track future gains in carbon sequestration. The research findings from the ABP Demo Farm have directly contributed to the creation of ABP Beef Benchmark Report and support the ICBF Gene Ireland Beef programme which aims to identify the most suitable beef bulls for use on the dairy herd. Advantage Beef Programme The success of the ABP Demonstration Farm has also led to the creation of the ABP Advantage Beef Programme, an enterprise partnership that assists farmers to build a more-sustainable beef business. The programme now includes over 1,000 participating suppliers and is a key element in expanding the research findings of the ABP Demonstration Farm across the family farm supply chain. In 2024, the 35,000 cattle produced as part of the ABP Advantage Beef Programme were on average 85 days younger at finish, with just a 4kg lighter carcass weight. ABP is currently working with Teagasc, ICBF and MTI on new projects focused on genetic selection for earlier finishing and animals that emit less methane per day, as well as projects focused on improving water and soil quality. Agri-sustainability manager at ABP, Stephen Connolly, said: 'The ABP Demonstration Farm is a long-term investment in the future of sustainable beef production in Ireland. 'Our objective is to develop systems and share solutions that support farmers and allow their businesses to grow. The key focus of our projects is economic and environmental sustainability and in this, our key areas are animal breeding and grassland management. 'Although this farm is focused on dairy beef, many of the practices developed here can be transferred to suckler-beef systems, which remain an integral part of Ireland's beef sector,' Connolly added.

Why should a vegetarian order from non-veg serving eatery if it hurts sentiments? Consumer panel says
A consumer redressal commission in Mumbai has said if meat-based food hurts a "strictly vegetarian" person's religious sentiments, why should the individual opt to order from a restaurant serving both veg and non-veg items. It seems reasonable that "a prudent person would be able to distinguish between veg and non-veg food before consuming," the District Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission, Mumbai Suburban (Additional) said in an order passed last month. The commission dismissed a complaint by two persons against an eatery for allegedly wrongly serving them non-vegetarian food. "If the complainants were strictly vegetarian and non-veg food hurts their religious sentiments, then why did they opt to order the food items from the restaurant which was delivering both non-veg and vegetarian food, instead of ordering the food from the restaurant which was exclusively vegetarian and served only and only vegetarian food," it said. As per the complainants, they had ordered a steamed 'Darjeeling momo combo' with a soft drink from a Momo outlet at Sion in Mumbai on December 19, 2020. Also read: Why did the Brahmins become vegetarian? B.R. Ambedkar asks in this excerpt from 'Beef, Brahmins and Broken Men' They claimed to have specifically emphasised their vegetarian preference twice. However, they received steamed "chicken Darjeeling momos", the complainants said. They further alleged that the eatery staff ignored their instructions and that the display board at the outlet did not clearly indicate vegetarian or non-vegetarian options for the combo. The complainants claimed they suffered mental trauma, emotional distress and their religious feelings were hurt due to the negligence of the company. They sought ₹6 lakh in compensation for the distress caused. The company, on the other hand, contended the complainants themselves ordered non-vegetarian items, as indicated by the invoice. It alleged that the complainants physically abused their employee and created a nuisance, leading them to refund the order and provide the products free of cost. The company submitted that the complainants were not "consumers" under the Consumer Protection Act due to the refund. Despite the alleged behaviour, the company said it offered a gift voucher worth ₹1,200 as a goodwill gesture, but the complainants demanded ₹3 lakh each. The complaint was filed with malafide intention to harass the company, it claimed. The commission noted that the invoice indicated the complainants ordered non-veg momos. "A prudent person would be able to distinguish between veg and non-veg food before consuming it seems reasonable," the commission noted. The commission pointed out that while the offer board's photo did not clearly state if the steamed Darjeeling Momo combo was veg or non-veg, it did mention "veg/non-veg" at the bottom, implying the availability of both the options. Furthermore, the complainants failed to provide evidence or details regarding any religious ceremonies they claimed were affected, the commission said. The complainants have not been able to establish any deficiency in service on the part of the company, it added.
