Dwight Howard Makes Clear Choice Between LeBron James and Kobe Bryant
Dwight Howard Makes Clear Choice Between LeBron James and Kobe Bryant originally appeared on Athlon Sports. The Los Angeles Lakers have long been one of the most successful franchises not just in NBA history, but in sports history. In the NBA, their 17 championships are the second-most, only behind the Boston Celtics, who have 18. Advertisement Additionally, Los Angeles has been led by some of the greatest players the league has ever seen throughout history. This includes two of the greatest NBA players in recent memory, Kobe Bryant and LeBron James. Recently, NBA legend and 2025 Basketball Hall of Fame inductee Dwight Howard shared his thoughts and made a clear choice between the two basketball legends. Los Angeles Lakers center Dwight Howard (39).Mark J. Rebilas-Imagn Images Throughout his 18-year NBA career, Howard had three separate stints with the Lakers, including during the 2021-22 season, his last in the league. In total, the Atlanta native played parts of three seasons in Los Angeles. During that time, he was a one-time All-Star, a one-time All-Star, and a one-time NBA Champion. Additionally, he played alongside Bryant and James. Advertisement In a recent appearance on The Club 520 Podcast, Howard said he would take James on a general basis, but he would take Bryant "late in the game" and as a scorer. "Everything combined, you got to give it to LeBron James. Scoring-wise, I got to say I like Kobe Bryant. If it's late in the game, I'm giving the ball to Kobe," Howard said. "I'm not going to give the ball to LeBron late in the game. I'm going to give it to Kobe." Not many players can say they were teammates with both Bryant and James, and this is a unique distinction Howard has. Regardless of Howard's choice, both of them are two of the greatest players the league has ever seen, and they will forever be a part of NBA history. Rebecca Lobo Sends Clear Message on Fever Needing to Panic Amid Caitlin Clark Injury
Rebecca Lobo Sends Clear Message on Fever Needing to Panic Amid Caitlin Clark Injury originally appeared on Athlon Sports. With a fully revamped roster comprising multiple WNBA champions and WNBA All-Stars to support Caitlin Clark, the hope from Indiana Fever fans was that the team would get off to a hot start en route to a title push. Advertisement Although it's far too early to determine the team's fate and if they will contend, it isn't too premature to say that their start to the season hasn't gone as planned. The Fever head into Tuesday's WNBA Commissioner's Cup game against the Washington Mystics with a 2-4 record and losses in three previous games. In addition to the losses, they have also been without Clark for the past two games, as she's dealing with a left quadriceps injury that will keep her out for multiple weeks when all is said and done. While to some fans it may feel like the sky is falling and that the team needs to hit the panic button, WNBA legend and Basketball Hall of Fame member Rebecca Lobo revealed that there's no need to panic while appearing on "SportsCenter." Don Criqui (left) and former WNBA player Rebecca Lobo.© Matt Cashore-Imagn Images "I'm sure Fever fans were expecting a very different start, but they should not be worried, I don't think at all," Lobo said. "Remember, two of the three games they lost were with Caitlin Clark. It was by a combined three points. One of those games was to the New York Liberty. Advertisement "This is a team that is based around what Caitlin Clark does so well," Lobo added. "They got rim runners this year. She's one of the best advanced passers in the WNBA. Well, when she's not playing, that's going to look different." Aside from losing the 2024 WNBA Rookie of the Year for a couple of weeks, the Fever also saw both Sophie Cunningham (ankle) and Sydney Colson (leg) go down with injuries in the team's Friday loss to the Connecticut Sun. The team has a new head coach and a slew of new players who are still learning to play together. When Clark returns, it should help ease tensions, but the team will also have to work out kinks.
