Jessie J says she 'cried happy and scared tears' after playing her final show before breast cancer surgery

Jessie J has said she 'cried happy and scared tears' after playing her final show before she undergoes breast cancer surgery. The singer, 37, who revealed her diagnosis last week, performed at Capital's Summertime Ball at Wembley Stadium over the weekend and vowed to 'beat' the disease as she addressed the crowd. Reflecting on her last show before treatment on Monday, Jessie described the day as special but admitted she 'needed a well earned cry' with her two-year-old son, Sky. In a post to her Instagram Story, she wrote: 'If you ever wonder what I do after a show. 'First I went to dinner with some beautiful inspiring friends and now I've got home, showered first, oilatum cream thick on my face so I look like Mrs Doubtfire.' From A-list scandals and red carpet mishaps to exclusive pictures and viral moments, subscribe to the DailyMail's new Showbiz newsletter to stay in the loop. Jessie J has said she 'cried happy and scared tears' after playing her final show before she undergoes breast cancer surgery Jessie continued: 'While the house is dark and everyone is asleep. I've unpacked my bags, done some house chores, washed Sky's cup and put washing away. 'Now I'm sitting in the Skys room just staring at him. Having a needed a well earned cry. Happy and scared tears. This boy. My whole heart. What a special day today was.' On Sunday Jessie chocked back tears and vowed she would 'beat' breast cancer on stage at Capital's Summertime Ball with Barclaycard at Wembley Stadium. The singer thanked the 75,000 strong crowd for their support as she opened up about her illness. Jessie said: 'Today, this show is my last show before I go to beat breast cancer!'. As the audience cheered she continued: 'So it's so special to me you have no idea. I feel so special to be from the UK, to be an honest person and say how you feel. 'This is my last show before go treatment and all the things It's the most special thing and I'm so grateful for this life, for you guys, for my career, to my, my son. My partner, my parents'. 'My family, my band, my crew. We are so lucky, we have so much to live for, so much joy, so much, so many things to do'. It comes Jessie, who assured fans her condition had been 'caught early', revealed she had suffered her 'worst day so far' amid her cancer battle as she broke down in tears and struggled through panic attacks. In a lengthy Instagram Stories post, she wrote: 'Honestly, had my worst day so far yesterday since my diagnosis and the busiest three months I have had in years. Work. Toddler. Cancer. life etc had my mind [drained]. Jessie, who shares two-year-old son Sky with partner Chanan Colman, continued: 'Panic attacks/ tears. big fears/ anger/ overwhelm bad. And you know what helped?'. 'I ate a corn on the cob. Turns out it's extremely hard to panic or cry while eating one. Highly recommend. Instead mood shift'. 'Tomorrow is a new day. The [rollercoaster] of cancer is [draining]. I won't be just talking about the highlights. And making jokes all the time. That isn't real life. Goodnight'. Returning to social media, The Price Tag hitmaker penned: 'IMO. It's [key] to acknowledge fear anger sadness panic overwhelm and let it come up and come out. holding it in won't make it go away. In any challenging situation in life'. 'So when I posted what I did yesterday about my current challenge in life, also while making light of the situation. That was one day in 10 weeks that I just lost it and was completely drowned in all the negative and bed feelings any cancer journey can bring. Which is healthy and needed. As the audience cheered she continued: 'So it's so special to me you have no idea. I feel so special to be from the UK, to be an honest person and say how you feel,' She went on: 'So I will cry, I will be scared, I will panic, I will feel all of it for a minute or even a full day. And then eat a [corn] or listen to a song that lifts me up or laugh with a friend on Face Time. And then go and be a mum, and go to work and show up and be what I feel 90% of the time'. 'Strong, fearless, healthy, and make some jokes about it all because that's my way. But i will not ignore the 10% that is fear and sadness'. Jessie appeared to drop a hint about her cancer diagnosis weeks ago during a performance in London. But the announcement appears all the more poignant now given what Jessie is reported to have told fans while performing at Union Chapel on May 20. According to The Mirror, the star told her fans at the show she was putting herself first and wanted to have fun. She said: 'I know we are all going through our own battles in life, we are all struggling in our own way. We talk about it sometimes, and sometimes we don't. 'I'm grateful I have the voice and the strength to be able to put those experiences into songs that people can take and make them their own soundtrack to help them get through a tough time, a good time, a scary time.'

Jessie J vows to 'beat' breast cancer at final show before surgery

Jessie J vowed to "beat" breast cancer in an emotional speech at her final show before she undergoes surgery. The 37-year-old pop star went public with her breast cancer diagnosis earlier this month revealing she is battling an "early" form of the disease and is scheduled to have an operation later in the year - and she used her performance at Capital's Summertime Ball with Barclaycard at London's Wembley Stadium on Sunday night (15.06.25) to tell fans she's planning to overcome her health issues. She told the audience: "I've always been an open book. Today, this show is my last show before I go to beat breast cancer. "So it's so special to me you have no idea. I feel so proud to be from the UK, to be an honest person and say how you feel. "This is my last show before go treatment and all the things It's the most special thing and I'm so grateful for this life, for you guys, for my career, to my, my son. My partner, my parents. "My family, my band, my crew. We are so lucky, we have so much to live for, so much joy ... There is so much to do." She wen ton to introduce her track Living My Best Life, saying: "This song is the soundtrack for myself. "This is hands down one of the favourite songs I have written and it's called Living My Best Life. It should have been called living my breast life ... "Let's put some good energy in this place because I know I'm not the only one going through something right now." Jessie - who is mother to two-year-old son Sky with basketball star Chanan Colman - previously revealed she was given the diagnosis prior to the release of her single, No Secrets on April 25 and she has been "in and out of tests" since. She said in an Instagram video: "Before No Secrets came out, I was diagnosed with early breast cancer. I'm highlighting the word 'early'. "Cancer sucks in any form but I'm holding onto the word early. I have been in and out of tests throughout this whole period ... "To get diagnosed with this, as I'm putting out a song called 'No Secrets' right before a song called Living My Best Life, which was all pre-planned before I found out about this, I mean you can't make it up. Jessie went on to reveal she plans to "disappear for a bit" after her performance at the Capital Summertime Ball. She said: "It wasn't something I'd planned, but yeah. I'm getting to keep my nipples, that's good. It's a weird topic and a weird situation. "I am going to disappear for a bit after Summertime Ball to have my surgery, and I will come back with massive t*ts and more music." The Price Tag hitmaker joked: "It's a very dramatic way to get a boob job."
