Omani-Bahraini Bazaar exhibition opens in Muscat
MUSCAT: The much-anticipated Omani-Bahraini Bazaar Exhibition commenced at Oman Mall in the Wilayat of Bausher, Muscat Governorate. The event was inaugurated under the auspices of Qais bin Mohammed al Yousef, Minister of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion. Held in alignment with 'Oman Vision 2040' and 'Bahrain Vision 2030', the exhibition aims to enhance the role of small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in economic growth. Featuring 30 exhibitors, including 17 Omanis and 13 Bahrainis, the event offers a diverse range of products such as fashion, perfumes, incense, Omani frankincense, traditional sweets, accessories, handicrafts, heritage items and household supplies. Running until March 26, the exhibition seeks to strengthen historical ties between Oman and Bahrain, support entrepreneurs, create new investment opportunities and increase bilateral trade. Dr Juma bin Ahmed al Kaabi, Ambassador of Bahrain to Oman, highlighted that this exhibition reflects the strong economic and diplomatic relations between the two nations. He emphasised the government's commitment to supporting entrepreneurs, fostering business growth and enhancing their contribution to GDP. Echoing these sentiments, Radina al Hajri, Chairwoman of the Omani-Bahraini Friendship Association, stressed that the exhibition is a key initiative of the Association, reinforcing economic cooperation and providing a platform for SME owners. She noted that this is the fourth edition of the event, following the success of the January 2025 exhibition in Manama. Looking ahead, Al Hajri announced a series of upcoming exhibitions, seminars and conferences aimed at fostering deeper economic and cultural exchanges between Oman and Bahrain. Exhibition held on public security and safety awareness
In a concerted effort to strengthen community partnership and promote sustainable security, the Community Service and Continuing Education Center at Gulf University organised a security and safety awareness exhibition under the theme 'Together Towards Comprehensive Awareness and Sustainable Security.' The event, held in collaboration with various departments of the Ministry of Interior, aimed to enhance public awareness of safety issues in alignment with Bahrain Vision 2030, which prioritises sustainable development and community security. The exhibition featured participation from security specialists who conducted interactive workshops and awareness sessions on crime prevention, traffic safety, maritime security, and emergency response. Experts from the General Department of Criminal Investigations and Evidence delivered lectures on crime scene investigations, drug prevention strategies, and human trafficking countermeasures. Road safety The General Department of Traffic provided insights into road safety and showcased advanced traffic monitoring systems used to detect violations. The Coast Guard Command highlighted its efforts in securing Bahrain's maritime borders, while the General Directorate of Civil Defense conducted a session on firefighting techniques and emergency response protocols. Additionally, a specialised lecture on financial investigations and anti-money laundering measures addressed the risks associated with financial crimes and the mechanisms for combating them.
