NMS students excel in CBSE cluster chess championship
New Millennium School's grandmasters clinched multiple titles at the CBSE Cluster (Bahrain Chapter) Inter School Chess Competition, showcasing their dominance across various categories. The school emerged as champions in the Under-14, Under-17, and Under-19 boys' divisions, alongside securing the top spot in the Under-17 girls' category. They also earned the runner-up position in the Under-11 boys' competition. In the Under-14 boys' winning squad were Aradhy Roy, Jishnu Balajee, Ved Gopinath, and A. Hudson. The Under-17 boys' title was claimed by Rishi Kankhara, Rudra Kankhara, Prithvi Raj, and Khush Dolaria. For the Under-19 boys, Avran Thomas, Rohan Singhvi, Uttam Baratam, and Veiom Gupta secured the victory. The Under-11 boys' runner-up team comprised Rihaan Bibin, Satvik Sharma, Shreepriyan Sundarajan, and Sanidhya Kumar. The girls' Under-17 championship was taken by Tanya Singh, Ayra Mehta, Ashmithaa Manikandan, and Sanatanya Inbasekaran, further highlighting New Millennium School's prowess on the chessboard. The impressive results underscore the students' dedication and skill in the sport.

PLC Bahrain Chapter celebrates third anniversary with grandeur
The Pravasi Legal Cell (PLC) Bahrain Chapter marked a significant milestone as it celebrated its third anniversary on April 30, 2025. The event was held at the KIMS Health Auditorium in Umm Al Hassam, Bahrain, and was graced by the presence of esteemed diplomats, government officials, philanthropists, and community leaders. The celebration highlighted PLC's unwavering commitment to supporting expatriate welfare and legal awareness in the Kingdom of Bahrain. In recognition of valuable partnerships, PLC felicitated several key organizations including the International Organization for Migration (IOM), Expat Protection Centre under LMRA, Government Hospitals, the Nationality, Passports and Residence Affairs (NPRA) Bahrain, and KIMS Hospital, for their continued support and collaboration. Welcome address The evening commenced with a warm welcome address by PLC General Secretary Dr. Rithin Raj, setting the tone for the event. This was followed by a presidential address delivered by Mr. Sudheer Thirunilath, the Global PRO and President of Pravasi Legal Cell Bahrain. Gratitude Mr. Thirunilath expressed heartfelt gratitude to all stakeholders for their dedicated support to the mission of PLC. A key highlight of the event was the official launch of the third edition of PLC's newsletter, The Bridge, which showcases the organization's ongoing initiatives, success stories, and community engagements. Filipinos mark feast of Sto. Nino in style
The Filipino community flocked to celebrate the feast of Sto. Niño at Sacred Heart Church. Filipinos celebrated the event with various activities highlighting religious devotion and unity and cultural pride. Following the Mass, a program filled with colorful cultural performances kept the energy high with the much-anticipated highlight, the Ati-Atihan, Dinagyang, and Sinulog street dance competition. It really caught the audience with their step movements, reminding everybody of the historical importance of the festival. Among the notable groups competing were El Shaddai Gospel Dancers - Bahrain Chapter, Global Bisdak Bahrain, The Guardians Tribe Bahrain, Alwali Training & Development Center in cooperation with the Katilingban sang mga Ilonggo sa Bahrain (KIB/ ATDC Warriors) and Legion of Mary Sinulog Group. An exciting competition followed, and Global Bisdak Bahrain placed first in all categories.
