Will Israel send commandos to destroy Fordo Plant? Mount Doom is dangerous for Israel due to...
New Delhi: If Iran's nuclear power has to be completely destroyed, then Israel cannot do it just by bombing. To destroy all the possibilities of Iran making a nuclear bomb forever, Israel will have to carry out the world's most daring mission, that too in a secret nuclear plant built under a mountain.
However, Israel's bunker buster bombs have damaged major uranium enrichment and conversion sites in Natanz and Isfahan, which has been confirmed by nuclear energy monitors. But this alone will not completely destroy Iran's ability to make a nuclear bomb. Iran's most secret and protected nuclear plant, Fordo Fuel Enrichment Plant, is built at a depth of about 300 feet under a mountain 125 miles away from the capital Tehran, which is Israel's biggest aim to destroy.
Donald Trump has ruled out the possibility of a ceasefire and while leaving for the G7 summit in Canada, he has said that 'something big is going to happen'. It is believed that the US can drop GBU-57A/B MOP (Massive Ordnance Penetrator) bombs from its B-52 bombers on the Fordo nuclear plant, which is a destructive bunker buster, which can destroy a mountain of about 60 feet. But even after this, a commando operation will be needed to completely destroy this plant.
Will Israel start commando operation in Iran?
Just last week, there were reports that at least 10,000 Israeli commandos could land in Iran and launch a mission to neutralize the Fordo plant. To ensure that the commando operation runs smoothly, Israel is currently engaged in eliminating the threat from the Iranian army and the Iranian Air Force. The Fordo nuclear plant is commonly known as Iran's 'Mount Doom' because it is so secure that it is considered almost impossible for any modern air force or commando force to destroy it.
This facility is built under at least 90 meters of thick rocks and is protected by Iran with Russian S-300 air defense systems and heavy military presence. It is claimed that this plant produces highly enriched uranium (U-235), which is extremely important for the manufacture of nuclear bombs. The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) has also confirmed that Fordo is safe from Israeli attacks so far.
Israel wants to destroy Fordow at any cost. Israeli officials have admitted that Operation Rising Lion will not be called successful until Fordow is demolished. Defense experts say that to destroy Fordow, continuous bombing will have to be done for several weeks, and it should not be ruled out that Israel surprises the world by landing commandos.
