Shiv returns as The Dry films final season in Dublin
Filming has begun in Dublin on the third and final series of The Dry, the award-winning Irish comedy drama created by BAFTA-nominated playwright Nancy Harris and directed by Paddy Breathnach. Produced by Element Pictures for RTÉ and ITVX, the final 8-part series will once again follow Róisín Gallagher's character Shiv Sheridan, a recovering alcoholic navigating life and sobriety within her dysfunctional family. Shiv was last seen choosing herself over a faltering romance, as her ex-boyfriend departed for Melbourne alone. In the new series, she meets Daryl, a charismatic but unsettling Australian (played by Rick Donald), who unexpectedly reappears in her life at a recovery meeting. Returning cast members include Siobhán Cullen as Caroline, Adam Richardson as Ant, Oscar nominee Ciarán Hinds as Tom, Pom Boyd as Bernie, Moe Dunford as Jack, and Eoin Duffy as Rory. The final chapter promises a deeper dive into the lives of the Sheridans, as a long-buried family secret surfaces and triggers a fresh wave of emotional reckoning. As the family struggles to move forward, Shiv is forced to confront the possibility that the real problem may not be alcohol, past lovers, or her family, but herself. Speaking about the final season, writer Nancy Harris said: "It has been a true joy to see audiences embrace the Sheridan family in all their dysfunctional glory. The third and final season aims to go deeper than ever before… both surprising, funny and (painfully) honest." RTÉ's Director of Acquisitions & Co-Productions, Dermot Horan, said the broadcaster was "delighted" to return to the Sheridans' world. "Nancy Harris' scripts are at times funny and at times tragic - and that is why we all feel we can relate to these memorable characters." ITV's Head of Scripted Comedy, Nana Hughes, praised the show's blend of humour and emotion, saying: "Nancy's award-winning writing delivers more of the chaotic mess that is the Sheridan family. I can't wait to see what Paddy and the cast bring to the finale." Executive Producer Emma Norton of Element Pictures added that the team was "thrilled" to be filming the final series, promising "an extraordinary cast" and some "very fun new faces".

Dua Lipa opens up about wedding plans and kids post-engagement with Callum Turner: ‘I love kids, but…'
Pop icon Dua Lipa has confirmed the news that fans have been speculating about for months — she's officially engaged to British actor Callum Turner. 'Yeah, we're engaged,' the 29-year-old singer told British Vogue in a new interview. 'It's very exciting. This decision to grow old together, to see a life and just, I don't know, be best friends forever – it's a really special feeling.' The couple has been together for over a year and a half. Callum, 35, is best known for his roles in Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them (2016), Masters of the Air, and his BAFTA-nominated performance in The Capture. Despite their packed schedules — Dua with a world tour, he with ongoing shoots — the two have made a rule: they won't go longer than two and a half weeks apart. When her tour stretched to three weeks, it was, she admits, 'very hard.' A post shared by DUA LIPA (@dualipa) Still, marriage plans aren't taking centre stage just yet. 'As for the wedding: no plans yet,' she says. 'I want to finish my tour, Callum's shooting, so we're just enjoying this period. I've never been someone who's really thought about a wedding, or dreamt about what kind of bride I would be. All of a sudden I'm like: 'Oh, what would I wear?'' What grounds them, despite the fame and frenzy, are simple routines. At home, they cook together and Dua's roast dinners have a cult following among friends; when they travel, it's all about record stores and discovering new restaurants. As for children? It's on the horizon, but not planned out. 'I'd love to have kids one day,' she shares. 'But it's like the constant question of when would there ever be a good time — how it would fit in with my job and how it would work if I went on tour, and how much time out I'd have to take. I think it's just one of those things that's going to happen when it happens. I love kids, but I think there's so much more to raising a child than just loving children.' For now, Dua seems perfectly content soaking in the joy of being engaged, and being in love with her best friend.

Harris Dickinson cast as 'iconic' lead in Pride and Prejudice adaptation
BAFTA-nominated actor Harris Dickinson will take on the role of Mr. Darcy as part of Audible's audio adaptation of Pride & Prejudice, as part of Jane Austen's 250th birthday celebrations Harris Dickinson, who reached heartthrob status after starring in Babygirl alongside Nicole Kidman, has officially been tapped to take on the iconic role of Jane Austen's Mr. Darcy. Fans of the rising star actor may be disappointed to learn, however, that the role is audio-only as part of Audible's audio adaptation of Pride and Prejudice. Still, the project promises to be packed with incredible vocal performances as Dickinson is set to be in the booth alongside BAFTA-winning actress and Industry star Marisa Abela, who will portray the incomparable Elizabeth Bennet. The English-language cast also includes Glenn Close as Lady Catherine De Bourgh, Bill Nighy and Marianne Jean-Baptiste as Mr and Mrs Bennet, Jessie Buckley as Caroline Bingley, Toheeb Jimoh as Mr Bingley, and Sophie Wilde as Jane. Black Mirror alum Will Poulter is also cast as Mr Wickham. READ MORE: Emma Corrin and Olivia Colman to star in Netflix's new Pride and Prejudice series Dickinson shared that the project has been particularly rewarding. 'Playing Mr. Darcy was an amazing experience. I've always known him as this iconic character, but getting to really dive into the novel through this process gave me a whole new appreciation for him and the world. Being part of such a talented cast made it even better. It's a real privilege to be part of something so timeless." Audible's English-language adaptation of Pride and Prejudice will be released in the U.S., U.K., Canada, India and Australia on September 9, 2025. The release leads up to the 250th anniversary of Jane Austen's birthday (December 16, 1775). As stated in Audible's press release announcing the project, the adaptation will remain 'faithful to the original text' while also adding a 'unique interior perspective' from Elizabeth Bennet. Audible's Pride and Prejudice has been adapted from the original by award-winning writer Lulu Raczka and directed by Dionne Edwards, marking her audio drama directorial debut. Additionally, the English-language version will be followed up by local versions in Castilian Spanish, French, German, Italian and Brazilian Portuguese. The subsequent language versions will include 'local casts and release dates' according to Audible. News of this major production from Audible comes less than a month after the company announced it will offer publishers comprehensive AI production services to produce audiobooks. A shift that has been criticised by both voice actors and translators. The company shared in mid-May that it will work with publishers to produce audiobooks using its new 'fully integrated, end-to-end AI production technology '. Help us improve our content by completing the survey below. We'd love to hear from you! Voice actor Jade Asha recently shared her thoughts on Audible AI narration plan with The Mirror, saying that since the rise of AI, many of her work opportunities have 'almost disappeared'. But quality is at stake, according to Asha: 'We know that AI is lower in cost than hiring a voiceover artist, but it lacks in quality." Still, Asha says AI-generated voices are improving quickly and that the Audible announcement doesn't bode well for those in her industry. 'I can only see AI leading to less work for voiceover artists, which is already an over-saturated industry since the pandemic." Asha's story and the threat to voice actors and narrators is only one aspect of publishing that Audible's AI services will infiltrate. The company will also begin rolling out AI translation in beta later in 2025.

This Chanel Look Made Nico Parker Feel Like the Ultimate Princess
From the big screen to the red carpet, Nico Parker is living the dream. In a brief few years, the actress has starred in several major projects, including Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy, The Last of Us, and, most recently, as Astrid Hofferson in the highly anticipated live-action version of How to Train Your Dragon (based on the hit movie and book of the same name released in 2010 and 2003, respectively). Last night, the BAFTA-nominated actress and Chanel ambassador attended the film's L.A. premiere, stepping out on the red carpet in a gorgeous rose-colored gown fresh off the house's fall/winter 2025 runway, styled by Rebecca Corbin-Murray. When Parker initially saw the look from the show, it was love at first sight. The floor-length dress was accented by a tiered ruffled skirt and delicate bows. She layered a sheer silk shawl over the ensemble, enhancing its ethereal, fairy-tale charm. The fashion didn't stop there. There was also a stunning assortment of Chanel fine jewelry on display that brought out the soft undertones of the blush pink, including two rings and a pair of earrings. The overall vibe exuded a princess-like elegance—precisely what Parker and Corbin-Murray aimed for, and perfectly suited to the fun, fantasy-filled action film. On the carpet, Parker posed alongside her co-star Mason James, who plays her romantic interest, Hiccup Horrendous Haddock III. Below, see how she got ready for her big night.
