FDH Electronics Expands Agreement with Cinch Connectivity Solutions
OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla., June 20, 2025 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Oklahoma-based FDH Electronics, a unified FDH Aero division focused solely on serving the mil-aero market's electronic component needs, has expanded their product support distribution agreement with Cinch Connectivity Solutions, a division of Bel Fuse Inc. Barrington Area Chamber of Commerce awards $4,000 in scholarships to high school students
The Barrington Area Chamber of Commerce awarded $4,000 in scholarships to five high school students at its Lauren Brown Memorial Scholarship Awards Luncheon on April 24. Hosted by the BACC Women's Biz Net (WBN) at Biltmore Country Club in North Barrington, the luncheon was sponsored by Barrington Bank & Trust, BMO Wealth Management, Alpine Foot Specialists, and Advocate Good Shepherd Hospital, according to a news release. 'The BACC Lauren Brown Memorial Scholarship is an investment in the future aspirations of our local youth,' BACC President and CEO Suzanne Corr said in a statement.. 'The scholarships are available to students who will be attending universities, community colleges, vocational or trade school programs to support their future careers.' The scholarship is named after Lauren Brown, a lovely young woman who worked for the Chamber for several years and lost her battle with cancer at the age of 29, the release said. The Chamber's 2025 Scholarship Award Recipients are: Brady Anderson, Olivia Chau, Dylan DeLeon, Julia Gonzalez, and Matthew Louis. 'Lauren Brown Memorial Scholarships are funded by Chamber members through many Chamber events such as the BACC Golf Classic, our Annual Dinner and Silent Auction, and our WBN activities,' Corr said. The BACC Golf Classic will be held on Monday, August 4, at The Club at Wynstone in North Barrington. Through the years, BACC has awarded over $95,000 in scholarships to local high school students, the release said. Barrington High School seniors, as well as any student who works for a BACC business, or any student whose parent works for a BACC business, are eligible to apply for the Lauren Brown Memorial Scholarship.

Passenger plane hijacked in Belize
A person who hijacked a small passenger plane in Belize has died and the plane has landed safely, officials in the Latin American country said Thursday. Several people on board the Tripoc Air plane carrying 14 passengers and two crew members were reported injured, but authorities did not provide further details. It was not immediately known how the hijacker died. The plane was traveling from Corozal to San Pedro and Belize authorities declared a full emergency after the hijacking, which took place at around 8:30 a.m. local time, according to a statement by the Belize Airport Concession Company. The plane circled in random directions for hours until landing safely in an airport in the coastal town of Ladyville. All passengers were accounted for, according to the BACC, and those injured were flown to a hospital for treatment. Originally Published:

The Barrington Area Chamber of Commerce (BACC) will host its Ninth Annual Public Town Hall Forum on Wednesday, April 17, from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., at the Barrington Park District (Sullivan Room), 235 Lions Drive in Barrington. The forum will feature updates from local taxing bodies on public services impacting the Barrington area, followed by a Q&A session with participating speakers. The cost to attend the event is $15 per person, which includes coffee and pastries. 'This public town hall forum offers residents and business leaders in the Barrington Area a chance to hear first-hand vital information about how their tax dollars are being used in our communities,' BACC President Suzanne Corr said in the release.
