Man wanted on 1st-degree murder charge after Toronto stabbing
Social Sharing A man is wanted on a first-degree murder charge after a stabbing in Toronto's east end on Tuesday, police say. Anthony Steven Oliveira, 24, of no fixed address, should be considered "armed and dangerous," Toronto police said in a news release Thursday. "If located, do not approach and call 911," the news release said. Oliveira is known to use public transit throughout the Greater Toronto Area, including Toronto, Durham Region and Peel Region, police said. Officers responded to a call for a stabbing around 11 p.m. on Tuesday near Danforth Avenue and Coxwell Avenue, according to the news release. A fight happened between two males behind a plaza, and officers found a man who had been stabbed. Police previously said a male suspect was seen running from the area wearing dark clothing. The victim, Toronto man Ashkan Pournasir-Roudbane, died in hospital on Tuesday. The 36-year-old is the city's 16th homicide victim of the year. Oliveira is also wanted in connection with an assault that happened earlier this month in Oshawa, Toronto police said in an email on Friday. In that instance, the suspect pulled a knife and tried to stab a person in the area of Steeplechase Street and Windfields Farm Drive E. on June 1, Durham Regional Police said in a news release on Monday. No injuries were reported, and the suspect took off before police arrived. In that instance, Oliveira is wanted for an alleged assault with a weapon, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose and two counts of failure to comply with a probation order, Durham police said.

Suspect in fatal east-end stabbing considered armed, dangerous
Police have identified a suspect in a deadly east-end stabbing earlier this week. Toronto Police investigated a stabbing call in the Danforth-Hillingdon Aves. area — east of Coxwell Ave. — on Tuesday around 11 p.m. Police said an altercation occurred between two males behind a plaza and they located the victim. The victim was transported to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead. On Wednesday, the victim of Toronto's 16th homicide was identified as Ashkan Pournasir-Roudbane, 36, of Toronto. On Thursday night, police said Anthony Steven Oliveira, 24, of no fixed address, had been identified as the suspect and is wanted for first-degree murder. The suspect should be considered armed and dangerous. He is known to use public transit throughout the GTA, including in Toronto, Durham Region and Peel Region. Toronto police ID suspect wanted in fatal stabbing in east end
Toronto police have identified the suspect accused of fatally stabbing a 36-year-old man in the east end on Tuesday night. In a news release on Thursday, homicide investigators said 24-year-old Anthony Steven Oliveira, of no fixed address, was wanted for first-degree murder. Police allege Oliveira had an altercation with the victim, Ashkan Pournasir-Roudbane, behind a plaza near Danforth and Hillingdon avenues, just east of Coxwell Avenue, at around 11 p.m. Pournasir-Roudbane was stabbed during the altercation, police said.
