Willie Mullins' Ascot entries as he seeks redemption after luckless Tuesday
Willie Mullins has booked Ryan Moore for two leading handicap fancies at Royal Ascot this week.
Mullins was out of luck on Tuesday when he saddled two runners in the Ascot Stakes and a single runner in the Copper Horse Stakes.
Moore was legged up on the 11/4 favourite Reaching High in the former race, but he could only finish ninth of the 20 runners, while Mullins' other runners were also unplaced.
Reaching High has a provisional entry to run again this week in the Queen Alexandra Stakes on Saturday.
But top jockey Moore has already been booked to ride another of Mullins' horses in the same race in Sober, who is currently a warm favourite for the £110,000 handicap.
Sober was bought for €115,000 at an Arqana Sale in October 2024, having raced on the flat for Andre Fabre.
The Camelot gelding made his debut for Mullins when winning a hurdle race at Killarney last month. Now he is being sent to Berkshire in the hopes of landing a big pot on the flat.
Mullins and Moore will also team up with classy hurler Ethical Diamond, who runs in the Duke of Edinburgh Stakes on Friday.
Ethical Diamond was last seen finishing seventh in the Coral Scottish Champion Hurdle and looks to have a workable mark now back on the flat.
In total Mullins has seven entries at Royal Ascot in the coming days as he looks to add to the ten winners he has already enjoyed at the famous meeting.
