Chicago police warn of burglar who climbed through air duct of 2 East Garfield Park businesses
Chicago police warn businesses after two burglaries were reported in the East Garfield Park neighborhood. The burglaries happened on May 30 around midnight and again on June 8 around 1:30 a.m., both in the 2700 block of West Madison Avenue. Police said in each incident, a man entered the businesses by climbing onto the roof and entering through the air duct. They took tobacco products and cash that was left in the register. The suspect was described as 5-foot-8, between 35 and 45 years old, and wearing a blue, orange, and white Chicago Bears cap with a pom-pom on top, a black hooded sweatshirt, and pants. CPD is advising businesses to keep the perimeter of their property well lit, report suspicious activity immediately, and secure doors and windows. Man in custody for impersonating officer while carrying weapon during ICE protests in the Loop
A man is in custody after police said he impersonated an officer during the ICE protests in the Loop Thursday afternoon. Chicago police said officers were on patrol in the 200 block of South Michigan Avenue around 5 p.m. when they received a radio call about a suspicious man wearing "police identifiers." The 21-year-old man did not provide valid police credentials and was arrested. Officers said a weapon was recovered, but did not specify what type. Charges are pending. At least 14 vehicles damaged overnight in 2 South Loop garages
Chicago police are investigating after more than a dozen vehicles were damaged and burglarized overnight in the South Loop. At least 14 cars were damaged or broken into across two parking garages around 11:19 p.m. Friday, according to police. Six of the damaged cars were found in a garage on Lasalle and Harrison. Some had items taken from inside. Police sources said the eight other vehicles were damaged inside a garage on Wells and 9th Street. There is no description of the suspect or suspects involved. As of Saturday, no one was in custody. Area 3 detectives are investigating.

2 hurt, 1 critically in drive-by shooting in Humboldt Park neighborhood
Two people were hurt in a drive-by shooting early Sunday morning on the city's West Side. It happened just before 3:30 a.m. in the 3000 block of West Chicago Avenue. According to Chicago police, a 59-year-old man and a woman of unknown age were approached by someone in a black SUV, who fired multiple shots in their direction. Both victims were taken to Stroger Hospital for treatment. The man suffered a gunshot wound to his right leg and was listed in good condition. The woman was shot in her left shoulder and was listed in critical condition. The gunman was last seen heading eastbound on Chicago Avenue. No arrests were made. Area 3 detectives are investigating.

7-year-old boy stabbed on Chicago's North Side; woman in custody
A 7-year-old boy was stabbed Saturday morning in the Rogers Park neighborhood on the North Side of Chicago. Police said, around 8 a.m., a 26-year-old woman approached a 7-year-old boy inside a home the 1700 block of West Touhy Avenue, and stabbed the boy. The victim was taken to Lurie Children's Hospital in fair condition with a puncture wound to the abdomen. The woman was taken into custody, and charges were pending Saturday afternoon. Area 3 detectives were investigating.
