Why has Thomas Markle NEVER met Prince Harry? There can only be 3 reasons and the third is bad news for Meghan, says pro

FATHER'S Day has just been and gone, but one dad who was not given a royal shout out was Thomas Markle. The former lighting director, 80, is estranged from Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, 43, and hasn't even met her husband Prince Harry or his grandkids, Archie and Lilibet. 9 9 9 9 Royal experts have queried why an introduction has never been made, and royal author and broadcaster Hugo Vickers claimed there could be three key reasons. Speaking on The Sun's Royal Exclusive show, he said: 'Why did Mr Markle never meet Prince Harry? 'There can only be three reasons for that. 'One that she was ashamed of him, which I think is a bit unattractive. 'Two, possibly that she thought he'd done something, but when Prince Harry rang Mr Markle up and asked if he could marry his daughter, he said 'you can marry her as long as you never raise your hand against her'. 'Of course we don't talk like that, so maybe he lives in a world where people have done that sort of thing. 'I dispute that as well. I don't think that's the case. 'The third reason is that I think she was worried that he might actually have warned Prince Harry - this is not what you're getting, this girl.' Thomas famously didn't attend his daughter's globally-televised royal wedding to Prince Harry in 2018 due to suffering two heart attacks - although her mum Doria Ragland did. He watched the wedding of Meghan and Harry from a £23-a-night Airbnb in the country. Meghan shares videos of Archie and Lilibet to wish Harry a Happy Father's Day After the pensioner - who divorced Doria in 1987 - was unable to walk his daughter down the aisle, they've not been in contact since. Hugo continued: 'Mr Markle should have been at the wedding and they should have flown him over and stuck him in a health farm in the Shetlands or somewhere. 'Prince Harry should have gone up to see him and if he couldn't have walked the aisle he should have been sitting there, because, as you rightly say, he did a lot for that girl and she even admitted it in the early days before she distanced herself from him.' Due to their estrangement, Thomas previously confessed he has resigned himself to the fact he will most likely never meet Archie, six, or Lilibet, four. 9 9 9 This is despite him living just 250 miles away from Meghan for years, in a home filled with pictures and accolades of his daughter - who he affectionately dubs "Megsy". Now Thomas has left his California home after 10 years and has relocated to South East Asia to spend his time with "kinder people". The Duchess' estranged father also admitted that while he doesn't like some of Meghan's behaviour, his "door is always open". MARKLE FEUD 9 Turmoil between the pair erupted after Thomas posed for paparazzi pictures ahead of Harry and Meghan tying the knot. However, Meghan has previously shared the hurt and "betrayal she felt" by her father. She opened up about her relationship with her estranged dad and said she was left feeling crushed when he lied to her about not talking to the media. In her sensational interview with Oprah in 2021, Meghan said: "I'm trying to decide if I'm comfortable even talking about that. 'It was... if we were going to use the word betrayal.' Meghan Markle on how dad Thomas Markle 'betrayed' her IN her candid interview with Oprah, the Duchess of Sussex opened up about her relationship with her dad and said she was left feeling crushed when he lied to her before the wedding. Meghan said she tried to 'protect' her parents from the 'media frenzy' sparked due to an 'obsession about anything in my world'. It was the first time Meghan has publicly discussed her dad, who she has not spoken to since before her wedding to Prince Harry in May 2018. Thomas, an ex-Hollywood lighting director, has spoken about her daughter's relationship publicly and described their decision to walk away from the royals as embarrassing. Their relationship soured in the run-up to their 2018 Windsor Castle wedding, when he admitted agreeing to stage pictures of himself. Meghan was asked if it felt like a 'betrayal' when she found out her dad was working with the Press, and replied: 'I'm trying to decide if I'm comfortable even talking about that. 'It was… if we were going to use the word betrayal.' Meghan added: 'Because when I asked him, when we were told by the comms team, this is a story that was going to be coming out, which, by the way, the tabloids had apparently known for a month or so and decided to hold until the Sunday before our wedding because they wanted to create drama, which is also a really key point in all this. 'We called my dad and I asked him and he said, no, absolutely not." Oprah then said: 'He said no, absolutely not. He hadn't been talking to them. So he basically lied to you.' The full transcript of the interview can be read here. MEGHAN'S FATHER'S DAY SNUB This follows Meghan sharing a rare video showing Archie and Lilibet to wish Harry a Happy Father's day. The compilation showed photos and videos of Harry laughing, dancing and spending quality time with his children through the years. While Thomas - and also King Charles - was omitted from the post, Meghan did post a tribute to Doria on Mother's Day. Meghan, Duchess of Sussex gets Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet to operate a 'little farmer's market stand'

Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet operate a "little farmer's market stand" in their local community. The children's mother, Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, explained she and her husband Prince Harry are keen for their kids to "understand the value of things", so not only are the youngsters encouraged to help out in their garden in Montecito, California, the young prince, six, and his four-year-old sister also get to sell what they produce because the couple feel they can learn a lot that way. Appearing on the Aspire with Emma Grede podcast, Meghan was asked if she talked about money "or that type of thing" with her children and she replied: "We sometimes do a little farmer's market stand. "We grow a lot of veggies and part of what I want them to learn is, and gardening is really so great for children, 'cause it teaches them patience, teaches them to value and appreciate their food. "So you start from seed and you watch it grow, and they wait. But with that, it's like, now do you want to sell your harvest? And do you want to share it with our community? And also, what do you want to do with those funds once you have them? "So really starting to understand as they're learning counting and numbers and all of those things, that there's a cost and a price for things. "And I think that's key for children to understand that, especially children who are very lucky to have a home that has privilege. "You need to know that, just like manners, and taking care of the things around you, there is a value on things. "In our life, for my husband and I, it's really important that they understand the value of things." Meanwhile, Meghan also admitted she is delaying a second season of her own podcast, Confessions of a Female Founder, because she is keen to take on the advice from her guests and focus on her lifestyle brand As Ever for the time being. She said: 'What an amazing opportunity, to pull back the curtain and let people see what's happening at the start, to have the opportunity to talk to so many female founders who've been on that full trajectory, that are on the other side of success. To be able to be really candid and vulnerable personally about my learns and stumbles along the way. 'And to then take everyone's advice, and mine included, and to say 'I love that there's so much excitement and desire for another season, but I need to focus on my business.'' The 43-year-old former actress insisted she wouldn't be shelving the series forever. She said: 'So does it mean it won't come back? No. But I would love to bring the show back when I am at a different end of my founder journey. "When I've gone through Q4 and say, 'Here are my proof points. Wow, what a year it's been.' Or even longer than that. I think a different time will be so exciting to be able to compare and contrast.'

Meghan Markle lifts lid on life with Prince Harry in touching Father's Day post

Meghan Markle has shared a rare behind-the-scenes look at Prince Harry's parenting style with a special tribute on Father's Day. The Duchess of Sussex, 43, shares two children with Harry – six-year-old son, Archie, and daughter, Lilibet, three – and celebrated her birthday earlier this month. On Sunday (15 June), Markle shared a video montage of Harry with their children, backed by the song 'Have It All' by singer Jason Mraz. In the footage, Harry can be seen playing with his children along beaches and waterfalls, feeding horses, cuddling and reading a book together. There are also candid scenes from what appear to be their home, as well as in the back seat of their car. The Duchess captioned the post: 'The best. Happy Father's Day to our favourite guy.' While Harry and Meghan have been notoriously private about their children and their personal life, they have been more forthcoming with glimpses into their daily routines in recent times. For Lilibet's birthday, the couple shared a video of them dancing to induce labour while Markle was in hospital to give birth. In the previously unseen footage, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex can be seen performing the series of moves as they awaited the arrival of their daughter. 'When spicy food, all that walking, and acupuncture didn't work – there was only one thing left to do,' Meghan wrote on Instagram on Tuesday (4 June). The video featured the song 'Baby Mama' by Starrkeisha. Markle then shared a series of pictures with her daughter alongside a sweet message that read: 'Happy birthday to our beautiful girl! Four years ago today she came into our lives – and each day is brighter and better because of it. Thanks to all of those sending love and celebrating her special day!' The birthday message comes after Meghan revealed her dream of potentially running a business with Lilibet in the future. In a podcast episode featuring Tina Knowles, Meghan said she had drawn inspiration from Ms Knowles' venture with her daughter Beyoncé, the Cécred haircare line. 'I wonder if one day I'll be in business with Lili and we'll be building something,' Meghan said.

Harry and Meghan explored changing surname to Spencer amid children's passport delays

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex explored the idea of changing their family name to Spencer amid repeated delays by British officials to issue passports for their children, the Guardian has been told. The suggestion was a result of 'sheer exasperation' and came during a face-to-face meeting between Prince Harry and his uncle Earl Spencer. He was understood to be enthusiastic and supportive of the name change. Adopting the birth name of his mother, Diana, would likely have further deepened the rift between the Harry and the royal family, which shows no signs of being healed. However, the discussion became moot because the UK passports for Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet were finally issued almost six months after the initial applications – days after lawyers for the Sussexes sent a letter threatening to pursue a data subject access request. This could have revealed details of the delays – and the nature of any behind-the-scenes discussions between British officials responsible for issuing the documents. One source told the Guardian that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex feared that UK officials were dragging their feet because the passport applications included the titles HRH (His/Her Royal Highness) for both children. The applications also used the surname Sussex, which the family had already started using publicly; until 2023, Archie had both US and British passports under the name Mountbatten-Windsor. 'There was clear reluctance to issue passports for the kids,' a source close to the Sussexes said. The standard wait time for a passport is three weeks. But after three months without receiving them because of 'technical issues', it is understood Harry and Meghan reapplied using the 24-hour passport service, only to have their meeting cancelled at the last minute owing to a 'systems failure.' The source claimed that 'the king hadn't wanted Archie and Lili to carry the titles, most of all the HRH, and the British passports, once created, would be the first and perhaps the only legal proof of their names'. The source added: 'Harry was at a point where British passports for his children with their updated Sussex surnames (since the death of Queen Elizabeth II) were being blocked with a string of excuses over the course of five months. 'Out of sheer exasperation he went to his uncle to effectively say, 'my family are supposed to have the same name and they're stopping that from happening because the kids are legally HRH, so if push comes to shove, if this blows up and they won't let the kids be called Sussex, then can we use Spencer as a surname'?' The Guardian understands that Prince Harry wants to keep the HRH titles for his children so that when they grow older they can decide for themselves whether they want to become working royals, or stay out of public life. He and Meghan dropped the honorific in 2020 as part of the arrangement agreed with Queen Elizabeth II when they stopped performing royal duties. The couple are believe to have been angered by a report in the Mail on Sunday earlier this week, which claimed Earl Spencer had advised Harry not to change his name, saying the legal hurdles were insurmountable. 'It's completely untrue,' a source said. The Guardian put a series of questions to the Home Office and Buckingham Palace about the delays to the passport applications, and asked whether officials processing the documents had been seeking or taking advice from them. The Home Office said it was its longstanding policy not to comment on individual cases. Buckingham Palace made clear it would not be commenting on any personal matters relating to members of the royal family. But it denied making any suggestions or objections to the passports being issued with HRH in the titles. A spokesperson for the Duke of Sussex said: 'We do not comment on private issues pertaining to the Duke and Duchess of Sussex's children.' Earl Spencer was also approached but he had not responded at the time of publication. In May, Harry lost a legal challenge over the level of taxpayer-funded security he is entitled to while in the UK, but it is understood he intends to challenge the ruling. He had challenged the dismissal of his high court claim against the Home Office over the decision of the Executive Committee for the Protection of Royalty and Public Figures, known as Ravec, that he should receive a different degree of protection when in the country after he stepped down. The prince considers that his mother, Diana, might still be alive if she had continued to have the security protection offered to other royals. However, three senior judges at the court of appeal rejected Harry's claim that he had been 'singled out' for 'inferior treatment' and that his safety and life were 'at stake' after a change in security arrangements that occurred when he stepped down as a working royal and moved abroad.
