Prayagraj: Allahabad University celebrated 11th
International Yoga Day
with great enthusiasm, in association with The Times of India, on Saturday. The event was held at the historic Vizianagaram Hall.
Vice Chancellor Prof. Sangita Srivastava, who led the event, was honoured during the ceremony, which featured a rejuvenating yoga session led by Prof Archana Chahal.
The Vice Chancellor emphasised the importance of yoga in modern life, especially in academia where stress levels can be high. She said, "Yoga is not just an exercise, it is a lifestyle, it harmonises the mind, body and soul and must become a part of our daily routine."
The yoga session was attended by professors, staff and students, who practised various asanas and breathing exercises. Prof Chahal and student trainers Gauri and Pragati led the session with expertise.
The event concluded with participants interacting and sharing their yoga experiences. The Vice Chancellor's message resonated with the attendees, inspiring them to incorporate yoga into their daily lives. The celebration reflected the university's dedication to physical and mental well-being, embodying the spirit of yoga: unity, balance, and harmony.
