A unique military moment unfolded between a father and daughter in Puerto Rico.
After 33 years with the U.S. Army National Guard, Colonel Aponte Gonzalez fought back tears as his Air Force daughter appeared unexpectedly at his retirement ceremony. Ariana, who's stationed in Florida, said her father's long service inspired her own military career.

Knowing this was his last time in uniform, she coordinated with her stepmother in order to be there for the emotional occasion. The climax was a heartfelt salute between the two soldiers, followed by a tearful father-daughter hug.
