Hamilton Star Anthony Ramos Reacts To Fans Who Were 'P***ed' About Cast's Tonys Performance

Hamilton star Anthony Ramos has responded to the furore surrounding his recent appearance at the Tony Awards. To commemorate 10 years since the revered musical made its Broadway debut, the original cast came together for a performance at the Tonys earlier this month, which saw Anthony once again sharing the stage with the likes of Lin-Manuel Miranda, Leslie Odom Jr, Phillipa Soo, Jonathan Groff, Ariana DeBose and Christopher Jackson. But while the performance was hugely lauded, some fans were pretty irked that Anthony didn't get his own moment to shine. During an appearance on Thursday's edition of Watch What Happens Live, host Andy Cohen pointed out: 'When you were at the Tonys with the cast of Hamilton, you were the only one without a solo, and people were pissed.' 'I was,' Anthony responded, making a face. He added: 'That was really nice, that people got pissed! But honestly, there was a solo moment in that whole sequence. But I didn't say yes to the Tonys until Saturday morning, and the Tonys was on Sunday. 'So, they weren't even planning on me being there, so they cut that part, they choreographed the whole number. And then I texted Lin on Saturday morning, like, 'yo, is it too late to join y'all?'... 'They fit me in where I could fit in. But I mean, there was a moment for me, but they had to take it out, because they didn't plan on me being there.' Since originating the role of Philip Hamilton on Broadway, Antony's star has only continued to rise. In 2021, he took the lead in the film adaptation of another Lin-Manuel Miranda creation, In The Heights, and has also appeared in A Star Is Born, Dumb Money and Twisters. He's also lent his voice to the family comedy The Bad Guys and its upcoming sequel, and played a small role in the Will & Grace revival. Madonna blasted for her behavior by Broadway star who reveals her shocking act in Hamilton audience

Madonna was raked over the coals by Broadway star Anthony Ramos, who decried her behavior in the audience of Hamilton years ago. Anthony was in the 2015 original Broadway cast of the musical, playing two roles including Alexander Hamilton's son Philip, who is killed tragically in a duel. But although audiences were left weeping night after night at Anthony's death scene, the show was apparently insufficiently captivating for the Material Girl. The Queen of Pop allegedly sat in the theater on her tablet throughout the performance, Anthony said on Watch What Happens Live!. When host Andy Cohen asked: 'Who was the most terrifying celebrity to spot in the audience during your Hamilton days?' Anthony did not hold back. 'The most terrifying was Madonna with her iPad in her face. She was like this the whole time,' he said, miming looking down at the device. 'I was like: "Damn, shorty," I was like: "If you not enjoying it that much, you know the door's that way. You don't gotta stay here,"' he joked. Anthony is not the first member of the Hamilton cast to make reference to the Madonna incident, which went viral in 2015, the year the show opened on Broadway. Lin-Manuel Miranda, who not only starred as Alexander Hamilton but also wrote the book, music and lyrics of the show, appeared to tweet about Madonna. 'Tonight was the first time I asked stage management NOT to allow a celebrity (who was texting all through Act 2) backstage. #noselfieforyou,' he wrote. Although he never mentioned her by name and deleted the post from his Twitter account, rumors quickly circulated that Madge was the celebrity in question. The conjecture became so widespread that Madonna's publicist repudiated it, saying: 'It's not true. She was invited backstage four different times,' via Us Weekly. 'She texted post show when they were doing their fundraising pitch. Madonna had already made a generous donation,' said the spokeswoman. However Jonathan Groff, who played King George III, openly declared that Madonna was not invited backstage 'because that b**** was on her phone.' The Spring Awakening star insisted: 'You couldn't miss it from the stage. It was a black void of the audience in front of us and her face there perfectly lit by the light of her iPhone through three-quarters of the show,' per Dot429. Madonna's alleged spat with the Hamilton cast came two years after she was banned by the Alamo Drafthouse movie theater chain over claims that she texted through a premiere screening of the Oscar-winning drama 12 Years a Slave. When another audience member at the screening asked her to put her phone away, she reportedly snapped back: 'It's for according to Page Six. The Like a Virgin hitmaker herself has a long history with the New York stage, having acted on Broadway in the David Mamet play Speed-the-Plow in 1988. She also famously played the polarizing Argentine first lady Eva Peron in the 1996 movie adaptation of the Andrew Lloyd Webber-Tim Rice musical Evita. Her performance was memorably excoriated several years ago by Patti LuPone, who won a Tony for the role of Eva in the original Broadway cast of the stage show. 'Madonna is a movie killer,' said Patti. 'She's dead behind the eyes. She cannot act her way out of a paper bag. She should not be on - in film or onstage.' She allowed that Madonna was a 'a wonderful, you know, performer for what she does,' but slated her as 'not an actress,' on Watch What Happens Live!.

Robert Downey Jr. Makes Video Shoutout to Dominique Thorne Expressing His Support - "Iron Man Loves Ironheart" — GeekTyrant

The Marvel series Ironheart hits Disney+ next week, and stars Dominique Thorne and Anthony Ramos made an appearance on Good Morning America to promote the show. While talking about the story and their characters, Riri Williams, aka Ironheart, and Parker Robbins, aka The Hood, the show's host offered the guests a video surprise. Iron Man actor Robert Downey Jr., who is currently in London shooting Avengers: Doomsday , appeared in the video sporting a Pinewood Studios hat, and he started off by throwing Ironheart some love, saying, "Miss Thorne, I couldn't be happier than seeing you bringing Riri Williams to life." He went on to jokingly express reservations about Ramos's Hood, saying, "But the Hood has me nervous. Is the hood green? Please tell me Mr. Ramos is not replacing me as Doctor Doom via Parker Robbins?" The former Iron Man actor ended the message with heart with his hands, telling Thorne, "Iron Man loves Ironheart." Thorne replied, "Ironheart loves Iron Man too," and gushed about the support that Downey Jr. has thrown her way in recent months, saying, "He has been so supportive. It's really been amazing. Shortly after we finished filming in Chicago is when I got the first phone call from him, and he has been so sweet, like, through and through. So the support, it means so much. It really does." Ironheart is set to debut on Disney+ on June 24th, with the first three episodes dropping that day, and the final three episodes releasing weekly after that. Check out the video below, and let us know if you're going to be tuning in.

IRONHEART Will Push Boundaries in the MCU, Says Producer: 'Almost in the Vein of Walter White or Tony Soprano' — GeekTyrant

Marvel Studios is gearing up to release Ironheart on Disney+ later this month, and according to executive producer Sev Ohanian, this won't be your standard origin story. Riri Williams made her debut in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, but this solo series promises something deeper, riskier, and more psychologically layered. Ohanian tells SFX Magazine: 'Riri is brilliant yet flawed and finds herself going down a path that I'm not sure we've quite seen in the MCU. She kind of breaks bad in the show, and we go to some uncomfortable places for audiences that I think will be really fun to explore, almost in the vein of Walter White from Breaking Bad or Tony Soprano.' This signals a very different tonal shift for Marvel's young genius, one that could blur moral lines and challenge the usual expectations of what a hero looks like in this universe. It's an interesting direction to take things and I hope they can effectively pull it off. Ironheart picks up after the events of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever , with Riri heading back to her hometown of Chicago. But it's not a warm homecoming. She finds herself crossing paths with Parker Robbins, aka The Hood (Anthony Ramos), a street-level villain dabbling in magic, something that puts him at odds with Riri's tech-driven worldview. The friction between their two approaches, science vs. sorcery, seems to be at the core of the story. Riri's journey will reportedly spiral into dangerous territory, forcing her to confront not just villains, but parts of herself she may not like. Marvel never really draws comparisons to characters like Tony Soprano or Walter White, who were flawed icons who kept audiences hooked precisely because they were so morally complicated. Whether Ironheart fully leans into that antihero lane or simply brushes up against it remains to be seen. But if Ohanian's comments are anything to go by, Marvel may be tapping into something darker and more introspective this time around. Ironheart premieres June 24 on Disney+.

New "Armor On. Schedule Packed." Promo Spot for IRONHEART - Will This Be a Hit or Miss for Marvel? — GeekTyrant

Marvel has released a new promo spot for it's upcoming Ironheart series, and it offers a bit of new footage as it takes us though the busy schedule of Riri Williams (Dominique Thorne). I can see the potential for this series with the whole tech and magic element to the story. There's a really cool story to tell with that, the question is… will Ironheart do a great job telling that story!? I hope so, but judging from the reactions I've been seeing on social media, it doesn't seem like fans have a lot of cofidence that this show will deliver the goods. The synopsis reads: 'Set after the events of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever , Marvel Television's Ironheart pits technology against magic when Riri Williams (Dominique Thorne)—a young, genius inventor determined to make her mark on the world—returns to her hometown of Chicago.' 'Her unique take on building iron suits is brilliant, but in pursuit of her ambitions, she finds herself wrapped up with the mysterious yet charming Parker Robbins aka The Hood (Anthony Ramos).' The cast of Ironheart also includes Lyric Ross, Alden Ehrenreich, Regan Aliyah, Manny Montana, Matthew Elam, and Anji White. Kevin Feige, Louis D'Esposito, Brad Winderbaum, Zoie Nagelhout, Chinaka Hodge, Ryan Coogler, Sev Ohanian, and Zinzi Coogler all serve as executive producers on Ironheart , while Chinaka Hodge is the head writer. Episodes are directed by Sam Bailey and Angela Barnes. The first three episodes of Ironheart will all be released together. They will hit Disney+ on June 24, 2025. There are a total of six epsiodes. Do you think Ironheart will be a hit or a miss for Marvel?
