OPEC Fund provides $212mln loan to Oman for Khasab-Daba-Lima Road project
The OPEC Fund for International Development (OPEC Fund) has signed a $212 million loan agreement with Oman to finance the Khasab-Daba-Lima Road Project (Sultan Faisal bin Turki Road) in the Musandam Governorate. The agreement constitutes the second tranche of a total approved loan of $392 million for the project. In October 2024, the Fund had signed a $180 million loan agreement as first tranche in support of the project. The Khasab-Daba-Lima Road Project comprises a two-lane single carriageway asphalt road, spanning approximately 70 km, between the cities of Khasab, Daba, and Lima, facilitating better access to markets and ensuring safer transport of goods and people. Jordan reports surge in project spending
Jordan sharply boosted spending on projects in the first four months of 2025 after an increase in revenues, according to the Finance Ministry. The increase boosted overall spending by nearly eight percent to widen the country's fiscal deficit to around 469 million Jordan dinars ($656 million) in the first four months of this year against JOD345 million ($483 million) in the same period of 2024. Revenues grew by about six percent to JOD3,307 million ($4.6 billion) from nearly JOD3,114 million ($$4.3 billion) in the same period, the Ministry said in a report. Actual expenditure rose by around eight percent to JOD3,798 million ($5.3 billion) from about JOD3,520 million ($$4.9 billion) during that period, the report said. The rise followed a surge in capital expenditure of around 34 percent or by around JOD83 million ($116 million) and six percent growth in current spending. Abu Dhabi's DMT expected to award Musaffah road network packages in Q3
The Department of Municipalities and Transport (DMT) of Abu Dhabi is expected to award major road infrastructure packages under the Musaffah Industrial Regional Road Network Improvements project in the third quarter of 2025. The design-build tenders for Package 1 and Package 2 were issued on 11 March with a bid submission deadline of 13 June 2025. 'The contract awards are expected in August 2025,' a source aware of the details said. He said Package 1 covers the design and build of improvements along 8th Street in the Musaffah Industrial area with completion targeted for the first quarter of 2027. Package 2 involves the construction and completion of road works along the E30 corridor (IC04 to IC01 with completion scheduled by the third quarter of 2027. Kuwait expected to award consultancy contract for Nuwaiseeb power project Phase 1 in Q4
Kuwait's Ministry of Electricity & Water & Renewable Energy is expected to award the consultancy services contract for the 3,600 megawatt (MW) Phase 1 of Nuwaiseeb power plant project, located in Al-Ahmadi governorate, in the fourth quarter of 2025, a source aware of the details said. The consultancy services tender was issued on 11 May 2025, with a bid submission deadline set for 12 August 2025. The scope of the contract is supply, installation, operation and maintenance of combined cycle gas turbine (CCGT) units. 'The contract award is expected in November 2025,' the source said, adding that the project completion is scheduled for the first quarter of 2027. Nuwaiseeb project will have a total power generation capacity of 7,000 MW and desalination capacity of 80 Million Imperial Gallons per Day (MIGD), according to an April 2025 report by Kuwait Times.
