A Group of Friends Reunite, Get Stoned and Freak Out in Fun Trailer For Ensemble Comedy NUKED — GeekTyrant

A funny new trailer has been released for the ensemble comedy Nuked , featuring Anna Camp, Justin Bartha, Lucy Punch, George Young, Tawny Newsome, Ignacio Serrichio, Maulik Pancholy, Stephen Guarino, Natasha Leggero, and Cole Stockel. The movie follows a reunion of friends who are coming together to celebrate a 40th birthday, complete with an 'unplug box' for them to put their phones in for minimal distractions and maximum connections, as well as a chef who curated a cannabis-infused menu for the event. As you'll see, when news hits of a world-wide impending disaster, havoc ensues. The film is written and directed by Deena Kashper ( Thirtyish ), based on a story by Deena and Danny Kashper. The full synopsis reads: 'It's Jack & Gill's 40th birthdays, so the long-time sweethearts invite their college friends for a night away to celebrate. When couples arrive at the rented mansion, Jack and Gill surprise them with an unplugged party, confiscating their phones for the evening. To appease their friends' unease, Jack and Gill also announce their five-course meal will be a cannabis-infused journey. Lots and lots of cannabis. That did the trick. The dinner's in full swing, until someone sneaks a peek at their phone and discovers a nuclear bomb is headed right for Los Angeles. Holy f#$k. The pot kicks in right as they realize they may only have 30 minutes to live. Will they survive in the makeshift basement bomb shelter, or will they get nuked?' This looks like a silly good time. Nuked originally premiered at Tribeca Film Festival last year, and it's set for release in select US theaters and on VOD on July 11th. Check out the trailer below, and let us know what you think:

Rebel Wilson wants more action comedy roles after starring in Bride Hard, Entertainment News

Rebel Wilson wants more action comedy roles after starring in Bride Hard. The 45-year-old actress reunites with her Pitch Perfect co-star Anna Camp in the new flick that centres on a chaotic wedding day and hopes to land similar roles in the future, even though she acknowledges that she is not going to be in the John Wick franchise. Rebel told The Hollywood Reporter at the movie's Los Angeles premiere on Wednesday (June 18): "Obviously I'm not a serious action person, I'm not going to be in the John Wick franchise, but I feel like action comedy maybe there's a few roles coming up in that space which would be really fun." The Australian star plays secret agent Sam in the movie which sees her childhood best friend Betsy's (Camp) wedding crashed by armed mercenaries and says that she had been looking to work with her pal once again on a new project. Rebel said: "I love Anna, I think she's one of the world's best actresses — she can do anything, if you've seen her recently in You or Hysteria!, she's so multitalented. "This movie required a girl squad, so I was like, 'Yeah, bring in Anna Camp.' She could play any role; she decided she wanted to be the bride and so we play besties yet again." The film is directed by Simon West and he says it was a straightforward decision to cast Anna because of her existing bond with Wilson. The director explained: "It was just easy because they're friends. There's so much else going on in the film and putting a film together, you go, 'How can we make that relationship work the best?' And getting somebody like Anna Camp who is already her best friend and has already worked with her and they know each other's timing, it just makes the whole thing so obvious." Meanwhile, Rebel revealed that she went into "beast mode" when it came to her physical preparation for the movie. The Bridesmaids star told People: "I was pretty strong during this movie. I trained for a full five weeks and did conditioning for it, and then I had to be really kind of in beast mode, but I really enjoyed it, getting paid to almost be fit, which is really good." However, the actress explained that she was almost left "permanently disfigured" by a "freak accident" on set. She told Access Hollywood: "In a fight scene, a gun accidentally got whacked across my face. "It was just a freak accident, and my nose got split open, so I left set. It was my last night of shooting. I was like, 'How unlucky can I be?' "I was freaking out. They take an ambulance and they have to call a plastic surgeon, because if they didn't, I would have been permanently disfigured. So we got the plastic surgeon, they did all the stitches, and you can't tell now." [[nid:719218]]

The Pitch Perfect actress, 45, stars as a maid of honour in the film - where a mercenary group hold a wedding hostage but it turns out Rebel's character is a secret agent She was joined by You star Anna, who who looked glamorous in a mint green sleeveless sequin gown. Also in attendance were their co-stars Anna Chlumsky, Gigi Zumbado Justin Hartley and Sherry Cola. Rebel recently revealed she was caught up in a 'freak accident' on the set of her new film Bride Hard that almost left her face 'permanently disfigured.' The actress explained that she got smacked in the nose in a dramatic fight scene on the last day of shooting, which left a 'pool of blood.' Luckily, Rebel was quickly sent to see a plastic surgeon who stitched her up. 'A gun accidentally got whacked across my face,' Rebel shared in a recent interview. 'It was just a freak accident, and my nose got split open, so I left set. 'It was weirdly my last night of shooting. I was like, "How unlucky can I be?"' Speaking to Access Hollywood, she continued: 'I was freaking out. They take an ambulance, and they have to call a plastic surgeon, because if they didn't, I would have been permanently disfigured. 'So, we got the plastic surgeon, they did all the stitches, and you can't tell now.' Rebel plays a secret agent named Sam in the upcoming action-comedy film alongside fellow Pitch Perfect star Anna. Directed by Simon West and written by Shaina Steinberg, the movie follows Sam (Wilson) as she serves as the maid of honor at her childhood best friend's lavish wedding, which is taken hostage by mercenaries. Anna Chlumsky, Da'Vine Joy Randolph, Gigi Zumbado, Stephen Dorff, and Justin Hartley also star. 'There's so much comedy in this, but there's also so much action,' Rebel told Savannah Guthrie during an appearance on the Today show of the film, which is set for release on June 20. 'I kick butt… it was hardcore.' Rebel went on to add that she did all the stunts in the movie herself, without the need for a stunt double. 'I did a bit of karate back in the day when I was younger, and at one point when I was 18 and I was a complete idiot, I went in at an all-star martial arts fighting competition and then I got punched in the face and I thought fighting isn't for me,' she continued. 'But maybe I had some muscle memory left because I do all the fights in this movie and fight off the mercenaries who come to attack the wedding. 'It was really fun.' Rebel was spotted out and about in New York on June 16. In paparazzi photos she flaunted her trimmed-down figure in a bright red jumpsuit with a V-neck design and retro boxy shoulders. The flattering garment was tied at the waist with a matching fabric belt and Rebel added a pair of pointed red heels. She coordinated her makeup to her look with a raspberry lip stain and a warm rosy blush and wore her blonde hair down in soft mermaid waves and largely skipped the accessories. The actress recently posted to social media to share her latest eating tip as she entered the last week of her 'health challenge'. At that time, Rebel said she had shed 1kg over five weeks after cutting chocolate and ice cream from her diet. The Bridesmaids star posted a selfie to show off a 'healthy' evening meal consisting of chicken breast and salad.

Anna Camp, 42, and new girlfriend, 24, make red carpet debut with steamy PDA outing

Anna Camp and her girlfriend, Jade Whipkey, made their red carpet debut a month after confirming their romance with a steamy PDA-filled outing. The Pitch Perfect actress, 42, and the writer, 24, hit the Los Angeles premiere of Bride Hard at the DGA Theatre Complex Wednesday. The couple posed for pictures together on the red carpet, smiling as they sweetly looked into each other's eyes. Camp had her arm around Whipkey as they smiled for photographers. The You alum stunned in a floor-length sequined teal gown, while her girlfriend rocked a grey suit. Their red carpet appearance comes a month after they were seen passionately making out while out in LA. In the photos, Whipkey kissed Camp's cheek and lovingly gave a peck to the actress' hand. The on-set stylist also pulled Camp in by the waist for a tight embrace as the former True Blood star grabbed Whipkey's face for a smooch. A week before the steamy make-out session, Camp revealed that she was dating a woman by soft launching their romance on Instagram. At the time, Camp reposted an image from Whipkey's Instagram Stories of herself sitting at a restaurant table as she looked into the distance. 'Her smile is a poem, her eyes are roses, her laugh is music for dancing,' Whipkey wrote atop the photo. Camp's romance with Whipkey came six years after she and her second ex-husband, Skylar Astin, called it quits after nearly three years of marriage. 'We can confirm that we have decided to separate, and this decision was made mutually and amicably,' Camp's rep told Page Six in 2019. 'We kindly ask for privacy as we navigate this transition.' The following year after the divorce, Camp began dating drummer Michael Johnson.
