Madison man charged after posting to X/Twitter that he wanted to kill Black, Jewish, gay people, prosecutors say
A 23-year-old Madison man has been charged with engaging in terrorist threats after he posted to X that he wanted to kill Black, gay and Jewish people, prosecutors say. Dejuan F. Angelo was charged by the Dane County District Attorney's Office on June 10 with terrorist threats charge and drug-related charges, including drug trafficking, after police say they recovered more than 10,000 grams of THC in his residence. According to a criminal complaint: The FBI was alerted to threats being posted from an X account, formerly Twitter, and initiated an investigation. The messages, posted to the X account from May 19 to June 4, called for the "slaughter" and decapitation of Black, Jewish and gay people using derogatory terms for each. "We will hunt you (expletive) to extinction in the states soon," the account posted. "We need to kill (expletive). Save the world from them." The account also posted that they previously killed someone and it felt "cathartic" and they wanted to do it again. The account also advocated to "start beating woman to death every time they abort a child for frivolous reasons." "I broke a (expletive) arm after she told me she had three abortions," the account posted. The FBI identified Angelo as the account holder and he was further identified using Department of Transportation records, the complaint said. Madison police arrested Angelo on June 6 and searched his home that same day after being granted a search warrant. Angelo told police that he knew why they were there, adding he is "very opinionated" and "often makes derogatory comments on X," the complaint said. According to the complaint, police found over 5,400 grams of commercial THC products and nearly 20 pounds of marijuana flowers, the complaint said. Further, police recovered about 475 grams of Psilocybin, the compound found in magic mushrooms, the complaint said. Angelo is not in custody after posting $30,000 bail on June 13. If convicted of the drug charges, he could be sentenced to decades behind bars. The maximum sentence for terrorist threats is 3½ years. Adele says relationship with son has changed after poignant moment
Adolescence hit screens earlier this year on Netflix and has quickly become a fan favourite, with many hoping another series is in the works Adele says her relationship with her son has changed after a poignant moment between them. The singing superstar has said that she has written letters of thanks to the creators of the Netflix hit series Adolescence for the impact it has had on her and her son. The 37-year-old told director Philip Barantini that she watched the series alongside 13-year-old son Angelo. She said the programme changed "her relationship" with Angelo who she shares with ex-husband Simon Konecki. Adolescence landed on Netflix earlier this year and was an instant hit. It stars Owen Cooper and Stephen Graham and tells the story of a 13-year-old schoolboy accused of murdering a classmate after being radicalised by misogynistic social media content. The Sun reported that Philip said: "I am getting messages, inundated on Instagram, from people from all over the world who can relate to this story or have really been affected by it. That, for me, has blown my mind a little bit. "I had a text message from Steven Spielberg who has watched it twice, and I got letters from Adele last week - handwritten letters from Adele. I mean, just like saying that she had watched it with her son, and it has changed their relationship. "Things like that are just beyond anything I ever imagined from this little show that we made with our family. You see things like Baby Reindeer and all of those shows — they come out and then they just blow up. It's a huge thing and that is the power of Netflix. "For some reason, because we made it in Yorkshire and it is set in a small town in England, I never thought in a million years it would be the number one show in India or Venezuela." The series has became Netflix's second most-watched English-language TV show ever only behind Wednesday, which is the Addams family spin-off. Since its March 13 debut, Adolescence has amassed 141.2 million views so far. Prime Minister Keir Starmer has also praised the show and how popular it has been across the world. He has even gone on to say that he thinks that schools should show the series to students for educational purposes. Sir Keir said he watched the series with his 14-year-old daughter and 16-year-old son. He said: "As a dad, I have not found it easy viewing." Main actor Owen Cooper has risen to fame since the show. He has been getting a lot of media attention after becoming an overnight star and even appeared on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon last week.

Adele thanks Netflix hit for 'changing relationship with son'
Brit pop icon Adele has attributed the Netflix hit Adolescence to 'changing her relationship' with son Angelo. The Rolling in the Deep songstress, 37, shares her 13-year-old son with ex-husband Simon Konecki, 51. Mother and son have apparently been overwatching the Stephen Graham crime drama together. Released on Netflix in March, Adolescence follows the fallout as teenager Katie is brutally stabbed to death by 13-year-old classmate Jamie (Owen Cooper). As the youth is taken into custody and questioned over the crime, he reveals a terrifying attitude to masculinity and gender roles. Its hard-hitting story has resonated with audiences around the world – including Adele, who was so taken by its message that she penned letters to the show's director, Philip Barantini. Speaking at a masterclass with the Royal Television Society, Philip spoke of the global impact Adolescence had found since its release. 'I am getting messages, inundated on Instagram, from people from all over the world who can relate to this story or have really been affected by it. That, for me, has blown my mind a little bit,' The Sun reported him as saying. He continued: 'I had a text message from Steven Spielberg, who has watched it twice, and I got letters from Adele last week – handwritten letters from Adele. 'I mean, just like saying that she had watched it with her son, and it has changed their relationship.' The show has sparked debate in all circles since its release on March 13, with Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer going so far as to suggest it be played in schools. Writing for Metro, the Prime Minister said: 'As a father, watching Adolescence with my teenage son and daughter, it hit home hard. 'Adolescence has given a voice to everyone fearful and isolated, wondering what to do and wanting to change the culture of male violence. 'It has lit a touchpaper. It may save lives. It has the power to change our country. 'I am so pleased that as many people as possible will watch it.' The show has been watched by over 141million people so far, setting the record for most views for a limited series within the first two weeks of release. It has propelled young star Owen into the stratosphere, appearing in a music video for Sam Fender last month, with a role in Emerald Fennell's new Wuthering Heights adaptation still to come. Meanwhile, screen dad Stephen has speculated on how a second series might play out, suggesting that it could follow a different story and different family. 'If we were to go again, would I like it to go again? With a different story completely? Yes,' he told Variety. When not bonding with her son over the Netflix smash, Adele has reportedly been making plans to grow her family. Shortly after her 2021 divorce, she began seeing American sports agent Rich Paul, 44. Last year, she appeared to confirm that she and Paul were engaged, showing off a sparkling engagement ring while on stage at her Las Vegas residency. This came as one fan unveiled a marriage proposal via a sign in the crowd, reading: Will you marry me?' She replied: 'I can't marry you because I'm already getting married' – showcasing a dazzling ring to rapturous applause from the crowd. Earlier in 2024, Adele also revealed plans for a second child, telling her audience: 'Once I am done with all my obligations and all of my shows, I want to have a baby. 'I want a girl because I've already got a boy. I feel like she might be like the person I love the most in the world, but also probably hate the most in the world – that is what I feel will happen.' More Trending Her relationship with son Angelo might be going from strength to strength (thanks, Adolescence!) but she doesn't anticipate a daughter being such smooth sailing. 'She's going to put me in my place all the time, isn't she?' she joked. 'With me as her mother and Rich as her father, she's going to be a bossy little queen, isn't she?'
