‘I was jobless, my clothes didn't fit me and I was getting trolled': Neha Dhupia shares how husband Angad Bedi supported her through tough times
Neha Dhupia has dabbled in various mediums in her decades-long career in the entertainment industry. But a lot of backlash and criticism has followed her everywhere; first, it was for her choice of films, and then, it was for her appearance. During an episode of the Durex podcast hosted by Abhay Deol, Dhupia appeared alongside comedian Sumukhi Suresh and talked about the several challenges that come with fame, and how she dealt with constantly being in the public eye. While talking to Sumuki about trolling, Abhay Deol asked Neha about her experience with online hate. She talked about being put in a box in Bollywood, and how she has been misunderstood by the audience. 'I had to convince people to accept me because I got judged for the roles I did in my early days in the industry. It's been eight years since the 'It's her choice' thing happened and even now, if I go wrong anywhere, people flood the comments with the same thing. Nobody understood the context of what I was trying to say.' She was making a reference to a comment that she made on the show MTV Roadies, where she was perceived to be justifying a woman's adultery. ALSO READ: Kabir Bedi on open marriage with first wife Protima, growing close to Parveen Babi: 'Somebody has an affair, then someone else has an affair' She talked about struggling with her own body image after having a child, and how her husband, Angad Bedi, was a pillar of support for her through this phase of self-doubt. 'Whatever I am learning or unlearning now is because I have started prioritising myself and being comfortable in my skin. Even when I put on a lot of weight after having a child, my husband made me feel comfortable in my own skin. He would compliment me all the time,' she said. She added that Angad's support for her, though expected, was almost bizarre to her because she herself didn't feel confident in what she was doing and how she looked. She added, 'In my head I used to think that I'm jobless right now, whenever I step out I get trolled, and my clothes don't fit me. I came from a background of beauty pageants, and these things used to matter to me, I am not going to lie. But now, finally in my 40s, I feel like those things did not matter, and I feel the best version of myself,' she said. Neha, who is continuing her run as a judge on Roadies, married Angad in 2018, and the couple have two children. Angad, who is also an actor, is the son of famous Indian cricketer Bishan Singh Bedi. He has worked in films like Pink (2016), Soorma (2018) and Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl (2020).

Inside Angad Bedi-Neha Dhupia's Adventurous Weekend In Hong Kong
Last Updated: Neha Dhupia shared a mini vlog showcasing their adventures in the foreign land with their kids. Angad Bedi and Neha Dhupia continue to set major travel goals with their entertaining trips. The duo often shares glimpses of their excursions, and they toured Hong Kong a few weeks back. While Angad had shared pictures from their weekend getaway earlier, in the latest, Neha shared a mini vlog showcasing their adventures in the foreign land. Neha and Angad had also taken their kids along for the vacation. The vlog features the family taking in the breathtaking views from the Peak Tram or watching 'board games come to life" at Monopoly Dreams. They also took a tour of the Ding Ding Train while later visiting the unique cup noodles museum. The family shopped at one of the famous malls in Hong Kong and gorged on some delectable cuisines. Beyond the cityscapes, they enjoyed the beaches and also tried some adventure sports. Angad Bedi shared pictures from their fun-filled weekend trip to Hong Kong earlier. The natural chemistry between the two, together with the beautiful scenery, made for a picture-perfect moment in the first shot. The following photos show a series of touching experiences with their tiny munchkins, Mehr and Guriq. From viewing the bustling streets to creating sandcastles on a peaceful beach, the family clearly relished every moment. Angad also shared a selfie with Neha as they enjoyed Hong Kong's vibrant nightlife. 'Memories from #HongKong with my favourite people! Most recently, he featured in the Telugu film Hi Nanna, which was released in 2023. From 'Double Jalebi' To Olympic Dreams: Angad Bir Singh Shares His Hockey Journey
Every athlete has a signature move-something that sets them apart. For Angad Bir Singh, 22, who represented the Kalinga Lancers in the Hockey India League (HIL), that move was the now-viral 'double jalebi', a trick shot that made him an overnight internet sensation. During a tense match against the Tamil Nadu Dragons, Angad stunned fans and players alike with a bold, never-seen-before shootout move. He beat the towering David Harte with flair, sending the ball cleanly into the net. What followed was a storm of likes, shares, and messages that flooded Angad's inbox. What seemed magical to the outside world was, in reality, the product of relentless hard work. "I've done a lot of training for this," Angad said. "Even now, during training sessions in the Indian camp, I regularly practice it. When the HIL camp was set up, I focused even more because I knew there would be more chances of shootouts. My hard work paid off, and I was able to execute it well. I'm humbled by the response-I never thought it would become so popular. It's definitely motivating, and I'm going to continue practicing and improving it." That one viral moment was backed by serious preparation. The Double Jalebi wasn't just a flashy move-it was a carefully crafted shot built with the right ingredients: instinct, hours of drills, match pressure, and fearless execution. His discipline and performance caught the eye of national coaches, eventually earning him a spot on the Indian senior team for the FIH Pro League. Angad trained alongside international greats like Thierry Brinkman and Alexander Hendrickx. His discipline and performance impressed Kalinga Lancers coach Valentin Altenburg, who was thoroughly impressed by the "sharp, fearless, and unique trick" - a perfect mix of instinct and training under pressure. Reflecting on his journey, the 22-year-old star shared how he had always dreamed of wearing the Indian jersey. "Everyone who takes up a sport professionally dreams of playing for India-it was the same for me. The transition from junior to senior hockey wasn't easy, but it was exciting. The level of play is quite different. There's much more pressure at the senior level. Senior hockey involves a lot of tactical play, whereas junior hockey focuses more on the basics," he explained. What began as a childhood dream soon became a driving passion. Eager to learn, Angad Bir Singh closely observed senior players like Harmanpreet Singh and Hardik Singh, using every opportunity to grow his game. "I've played at the junior level, represented my state, played in the HIL, made my debut for India, and competed in the Nationals. All of this has given me confidence. My dream is to bring an Olympic gold medal to India. We have the World Cup coming up next year, and there's still time before the Olympics. I want to dedicate all my time to learning and improving so I can help achieve that goal," he said. With a Pro League debut behind him and a growing presence on the national stage, Angad Bir Singh now has his eyes on the biggest prize of all-and he's working every day to get there.
