Jordan: NCSC approves 2025–2028 National Cybersecurity Strategy
AMMAN — The National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC) on Thursday said that it had approved Jordan's National Cybersecurity Strategy for 2025–2028. The strategy serves as a 'comprehensive' national plan aimed at supporting the Kingdom's efforts, through the centre, to build an effective national cybersecurity framework, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported. The centre said it would work in partnership with relevant national institutions to develop the strategy's executive programme and oversee the implementation of related programmes and activities, based on 'clear' timelines and performance indicators. The strategy outlines the Kingdom's vision to establish a secure, resilient, and trusted Jordanian cyberspace, built on national capabilities and contributing to economic growth and prosperity. It also seeks to achieve this vision through four main strategic objectives and 14 sub-goals, with 'clear' priorities that encompass programmes, projects, and initiatives designed to deliver on these objectives. The strategy also aims to position Jordan as a 'leading' regional hub for cybersecurity, while ensuring a safe digital environment that fosters innovation and entrepreneurship, attracts global cybersecurity investment, and supports the Kingdom's economic modernisation and digital transformation goals. © Copyright The Jordan Times. Jordan: Citizen satisfaction with gov't service centres reaches 95.5% — Ministry
AMMAN — Citizen satisfaction with the ease of procedures and overall experience at government service centres reached 95.5 per cent, according to the results of a comprehensive survey conducted by the Ministry of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship during the first quarter of this year. The survey, aimed at measuring key performance indicators and the quality of government services, revealed significant progress in service delivery across centres nationwide, according to a ministry statement. Ministry's Secretary General Samira Zoubi said the findings reflect noticeable improvements in the performance of service centres, as well as enhanced user experience and more streamlined procedures. 'These results are a clear sign that our efforts to place the citizen at the core of development policies are bearing fruit,' Zoubi said, adding that the ministry remains committed to delivering efficient, seamless services within an integrated and accessible environment that meets citizens' evolving needs and expectations. Zoubi noted that other performance indicators also showed high levels of satisfaction. The overall service quality index reached 91.7 per cent, while the Net Promoter Score (NPS), measuring citizens' likelihood to recommend services to others, stood at 85.6 per cent, indicating growing public trust in government services. She emphasised that these positive outcomes highlight the success of the ministry's collaborative approach with various government institutions, aimed at building citizen confidence in public services. She also stressed that citizen feedback remains central to the continuous development and long-term improvement of service quality. The announcement follows the release of results from the citizen satisfaction survey, which targeted visitors to government service centres across all governorates. The survey assessed multiple aspects of performance and user experience, in line with the ministry's broader efforts to drive digital transformation and enhance the efficiency of public services. © Copyright The Jordan Times. Hotel occupancy in Jordan drops ‘sharply' amid regional tensions — JHA
AMMAN — Hotel occupancy rates across several Jordanian areas have declined during the third week of June 2025, reflecting negative indicators for the current tourism season, according to data issued by the Jordan Hotels Association (JHA) on Thursday. In Amman, hotel occupancy dropped by 16 per cent compared to the previous week, with rates ranging between 42 and 28 per cent at most establishments, Al Mamlaka TV reported. Five-star hotels in the capital recorded the highest occupancy rate at 42 per cent, followed by four-star hotels at 31 per cent and three-star hotels at 28 per cent. The association attributed the decline to ongoing regional tensions and escalations, which have negatively impacted tourist activity and hotel occupancy, particularly in Amman, which typically receives visitors from diverse nationalities. In the Dead Sea area, occupancy fell by 22 per cent compared to the previous week, with five-star hotels recording a rate of 25 per cent and four-star hotels at 18 per cent. The JHA noted that Petra is among the 'hardest-hit' areas due to its heavy reliance on European and international tourism. Cancellation rates in the rose-red city have reached nearly 95 per cent, with the remaining bookings primarily made by tourists who had entered Jordan prior to the latest crisis. No new tour groups have arrived since the escalation began, the JHA reported. Five-star hotels in Petra reported an occupancy rate of just 9 per cent, while both four-star and three-star hotels recorded rates of 3 per cent. © Copyright The Jordan Times. All rights reserved.
