Pakistan Confirms Strikes On Airbases By India, BJP Calls It 'Strategic Validation'
Last Updated: Pakistan Deputy PM Ishaq Dar has confirmed Indian strikes on Nur Khan and Shorkot airbases during 'Operation Sindoor', acknowledging deeper damage than previously admitted. In yet another revelation regarding the attack on its airbases, Pakistan has confirmed significant areas in the country were hit during India's 'Operation Sindoor' targeting terror infrastructures there. Pakistani Deputy PM Ishaq Dar, during a telecast on a local channel, confirmed that India struck the Nur Khan and Shorkot airbases during the retaliatory strikes. Further, Dar also could be heard claiming that Saudi Prince Faisal bin Salman offered him to inform External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar that Pakistan was 'ready to stop", implying that Pakistan pleaded for support from Saudi Arabia and the United States. This comes days after Pakistan, on June 4, admitted it suffered more damage than it had earlier acknowledged, during India's 'Operation Sindoor' on the intervening night of May 6 and 7. At least eight more of Pakistan's locations were struck and damaged in the Indian strikes, a confidential Pakistani dossier on its internal military Operation 'Bunyan un Marsoos' had revealed. Meanwhile, taking a dig at the Shehbaz Sharif-led country, the Bharatiya Janata Party's IT cell chief Amit Malviya wrote on X, 'So now it's official: Pakistan admits it was hit." 'Pakistan admits it ran to both the US and Saudi Arabia, begging India to halt. Pakistan inadvertently admits that Trump wasn't the only one lobbying India — even Riyadh was roped in," Malviya wrote. 'From Balakot to Sindoor, Pakistan's denials continue to collapse under truth bombs. A national security embarrassment for them, a strategic validation for India," he added. 'The world sees through Pakistan's theatre of deception," Counsellor at India's Permanent Mission to the UN in Geneva Kshitij Tyagi told the UN Human Rights Council session in Geneva. He pointed out that Pakistani terrorists turned a serene sanctuary in Jammu and Kashmir into a killing field on April 22, 'carrying out a barbaric execution of 26 Indian tourists in Pahalgam in front of their families." India launched 'Operation Sindoor' on May 7, targeting terrorist infrastructure in territories controlled by Pakistan in response to the Pahalgam terror attack. The strikes triggered four days of intense clashes that ended with an understanding on stopping the military actions on May 10. Among the several punitive measures taken by India after the April 22 Pahalgam attack was putting the 1960 vintage Indus Water Treaty into abeyance, a step hugely criticised by Pakistan. Malviya posted a document online listing several names he identified as Muslim sweet shop shops, he alleged, have been involved in preparing Gaja and Pera, sweets that are being distributed as prasad associated with Lord Jagannath. Sheet shared by BJP IT Cell head Amit Malviya highlighted the list of shop owners. advertisement 'Mamata Banerjee is trampling on Hindu sentiments with impunity in West Bengal! This is a deliberate provocation. In Puri, even today, non-Hindus are not allowed to enter the Jagannath Temple - such is the sanctity attached to the Lord and His traditions. And yet, in Mamata Banerjee's Bengal, prasad meant for devotees of Lord Jagannath is being sourced from shops run by those who do not even follow the faith!'Calling the incident 'targeted sacrilege,' the BJP leader claimed that Hindus and Jagannath devotees are 'deeply hurt,' terming it a violation of tradition and religious similar concerns, Suvendu Adhikari, Leader of the Opposition in the West Bengal Assembly, criticised the distribution of Digha Jagannath Dham prasad through Muslim-run establishments. Karnataka Cabinet approves increase in reservation for minorities from 10 pc to 15 pc in housing schemes
Bengaluru (Karnataka) [India], June 19 (ANI): Karnataka Cabinet on Thursday approved an increase in the reservation quota for minority communities under various housing schemes from 10 per cent to 15 per cent. Karnataka Minister HK Patil stated that this move does not require any new rules to be drafted. 'The reservation for all minority communities will be increased. There are Christians, Jains, Buddhists,' the Minister said. Meanwhile, responding to the decision, BJP IT Cell chief Amit Malviya issued a scathing statement on social media, calling the decision 'brazen,' 'blatantly illegal,' and 'unconstitutional'. He said that for short-term political gains, 'Congress is determined to sow the seeds of division, polarise communities, and rip apart the social fabric of Karnataka.' 'This is brazen. Blatantly illegal and unconstitutional. There can be no reservation on the basis of religion -- the Constitution is unambiguous on this. Yet, the Congress government in Karnataka is hell-bent on pushing religious quotas to appease its vote bank. This isn't governance, it's dangerous social engineering. Congress is determined to sow the seeds of division, polarise communities, and rip apart the social fabric of Karnataka -- all for short-term political gain. Karnataka deserves better,' he said. The move will apply to all housing schemes implemented by the Urban and Rural Development Departments across the state. (ANI)

'Sowing Division': BJP After Karnataka Hikes Housing Quota For Minorities
The Karnataka government has increased reservation for the downtrodden and minorities under various housing schemes from 10 to 15 per cent, inviting a sharp reaction from the BJP, which has accused the Congress of "pushing religious quotas to appease its vote bank". Announcing the decision, which has been cleared by the Siddarmaiah-led Karnataka cabinet, on Thursday, state Law and Parliamentary Affairs Minister HK Patil said the government had noted that the number of people without homes is higher among the downtrodden and minorities, and it is committed to providing housing for all. "We are very particular that all should get housing. Housing for all is to be implemented and, right now, we see that the houseless are more among various downtrodden and minorities. We have increased the housing reservation from 10 to 15 per cent, looking at the ground realities," the minister said. Mr Patil stressed that the reservation will be increased for all minority communities, including Christians, Jains and Buddhists. "The government is very particular that the houseless, irrespective of the community they belong to, should get (houses). Housing for all is the government's resolve," he added. Launching a scathing attack, BJP leader Amit Malviya said the decision was unconstitutional and accused the Congress of "sowing the seeds of division" and "ripping apart the social fabric of Karnataka". "This is brazen. Blatantly illegal and unconstitutional. There can be no reservation on the basis of religion - the Constitution is unambiguous on this. Earlier Row The state had seen another controversy over reservation earlier this year, after the Assembly had cleared the Karnataka Transparency in Public Procurements (Amendment) Bill, providing 4 per cent reservation for Muslims in public contracts. The BJP and Janata Dal (Secular) had termed the Bill unconstitutional and sent a petition to the governor, claiming it would polarise society. In April, Governor Thawar Chand Gehlot sent the Bill to President Droupadi Murmu, saying that the Constitution does not allow reservation based on religion.
