Saleem Helal Ali Yateem's career at Alba began in 2008 as a Senior Mechanical Engineer. His dedication and exceptional technical acumen were instrumental in navigating complex maintenance landscapes and spearheading critical capital expenditure projects. In his new role as Acting Manager Casthouse Services, Saleem will focus on guiding the Casthouse through dynamic market conditions to ensure the right value-added mix. Commenting on this promotion, Alba's Chief Executive Officer Ali Al Baqali stated: 'Saleem's journey is not just a promotion; it's a testament to a vision where the future is built by Bahraini hands and led by Bahraini minds. Aluminium Bahrain B.S.C. (Alba), the world's largest smelter on one site, announces the successful migration to RISE with SAP Private Cloud Edition (PCE). This milestone, completed in partnership with SAP's Customer Success & Delivery (CS&D) team, advances Alba's digital transformation journey. This strategic move provides Alba with a modern, scalable, and high-performance digital platform. It will enable enhanced functionality, an improved user experience, and powerful analytics, all crucial for navigating the evolving industrial landscape. Commenting on this achievement, Ali Al Baqali, Alba's Chief Executive Officer, stated: 'Our migration to Rise with SAP Private Cloud is more than a technological upgrade; it's a strategic leap forward. This advanced digital infrastructure will not only streamline our operations but more importantly, it will empower our teams with real-time insights, enabling faster, more informed decisions that drive productivity and sustain our competitive edge in the market.' The project involved a highly complex, brownfield conversion from SAP ERP 6.0 EHP 8 to SAP S/4HANA 2022. This included the migration of satellite systems, technical code remediation, and the integration of SAP Fiori and SAP Analytics Cloud. The success was underpinned by the close collaboration between Alba and SAP's CS&D team, leveraging global experts and regional capabilities throughout the conversion and cutover phases.

Ali Al Hanan's distinguished career with Alba spans an impressive 25 years, a journey marked by consistent demonstrations of exceptional financial acumen and strategic leadership. His progression through the ranks is a prime example of how Alba invests in its national talent, providing robust pathways for growth through continuous education and professional development From an entry-level position to his most recent role as Senior Head of Treasury, Ali played a crucial role in securing Alba's refinancing deals as well as expertly managing treasury operations. Alba Signs MoU with NFPA to Strengthen Fire Safety and Occupational Health Measures
Aluminium Bahrain B.S.C. (Alba), the world's largest aluminium smelter on one site, has entered into a strategic partnership with the National Fire Protection Association® (NFPA®), a global self-funded U.S.-based non-profit organization, dedicated to advancing fire prevention and safety on a global scale for nearly 130 years. The signing ceremony took place between Alba's Chief Executive Officer Ali Al Baqali and NFPA MENA's Director of International Business Development Director Eng. Dana Kamal on 12 May 2025, marking the beginning of a three-year strategic collaboration aimed at enhancing knowledge-sharing and exchanging best practices in occupational health, safety, and fire prevention initiatives. Commenting on the partnership, Alba's CEO Ali Al Baqali stated: 'Joining forces with NFPA translates Alba's ambition to not only be the world's largest aluminium smelter but also a global leader in industrial safety. As the first aluminium smelter in the region and the first manufacturing company in Bahrain to embark on this journey, we are proud to lead the way, learning from the best while sharing our advancements to contribute to a safer and more sustainable industrial world starting from Bahrain.' Adding further, Eng. Dana Kamal, Director, International Business Development MENA at NFPA, said: 'We are proud to work with Alba, one of the world's largest aluminium smelters.
