The Indiana Fever struggled in five games without All-WNBA point guard Caitlin Clark, recording a 2-3 record and falling to 4-5 overall to begin the 2025 WNBA season. Advertisement But Clark was finally able to return from her quad strain on Saturday when the Fever faced the New York Liberty for the second time this year. Clark got off to a scorching hot start in her return, recording 25 points in the first half alone. However, there was one instance where she showed clear frustration with her teammate. With about 30 seconds remaining in the first half, Indiana forward Natasha Howard received the ball in the low post. Clark, beyond the 3-point line, ran toward her teammate, calling for the ball. But Howard continued to keep it, eventually scoring after a few dribble moves. In the meantime, Clark was watching from afar, visibly annoyed with her teammate, putting her hands up in frustration multiple times. Advertisement Some WNBA fans took notice of Clark's reaction to Howard not passing, taking to social media to leave their thoughts. "This is one thing I strongly dislike about Clark.. she does this to her teammates so much.. & the fact Howard made the shot makes it worse," one fan said. ''Clark makes her teammates better!'' wrote another. "Clark, throwing her hands up when Howard wouldn't pass," added a third. "Caitlin Clark throwing her hands up at Natasha Howard . That's not a good look CC lol," claimed a fourth. "Her body language when Howard was working in the post is not it… damn. Throwing hands in the air? Getting frustrated? Come on..." posted a fifth. She can't be throwing her hands up cuz she was open for a second and Howard ain't throw her the ball. The coach needs to check all that (expletive), and the constant whining to refs," commented a sixth. Lynx star Napheesa Collier named West's best player in season's 1st week
The Minnesota Lynx have yet to lose a game this season, thanks in large part to the play of superstar Napheesa Collier. For her efforts, Collier has earned the WNBA's Western Conference Player of the Week title. The award only covers the Lynx's first four games, during which she averaged 29.5 points, 7.3 rebounds and 2.5 assists. Her five-game totals put Collier atop the WNBA in points per game (26.8) and player efficiency rating (33.4), second in offensive win shares (1.1), 10th in rebounds per game (7.8), fourth in steals per game (2.4) and fifth in blocks per game (1.4). The season is still nascent, but Collier is playing at an MVP level. Last season, Collier made the All-WNBA First Team and was named Defensive Player of the Year amid the Lynx's surprising but ultimately unavailing run to the WNBA Finals. She also won a gold medal with Team USA at the Summer Olympics. Since then, she's had a productive offseason. She was named the MVP of Unrivaled, the 3-on-3 basketball league she co-founded, and TIME magazine listed her among its 100 Most Influential People.
