Noel and Liam Gallagher's children share key advice from rockstar dads
Oasis stars Noel and Liam Gallagher have been giving advice to their kids whilst they have not been on stage rehearsing with the band ahead of their reunion tour It's not the most rock'n'roll thing to do - but Liam and Noel Gallagher are great at giving their kids sensible advice. The pair are back on the road together later this month as the Oasis reunion kicks off in Cardiff on July 4, their first shows in 16 years. In that time, they have been trying to install confidence and the value of money into their children. Anaïs, daughter of Noel, says of the Oasis Live 25 tour: 'I'm pre-prepping my liver now by drinking, I don't know, electrolytes. It should be a very fun summer. My plan is to be at every U.K. date, and my camera will be with me every step of the way.' The model and photographer, 25, went on to joke that she might not make a photo book as 'then my dad would probably want every penny.' Growing up, she assumed that every kid could be taken to the Harry Potter film set to hang out like she was, until her parents, Noel and his ex-wife Meg Matthews, set her straight. 'They said, 'You're different, but that doesn't mean you're better than anybody else.' I think I've kept that in mind throughout my whole life.' Noel also seems to be aware that the children of famous people often buckle under the pressure of living up to their parents' success. 'My generation has been told that the sky is the limit and that if you dream big, you can invent an app and become a billionaire,' Anaïs told W magazine in the US. 'But that is such a small fraction of the population. My parents were always like, do whatever makes you happy—you don't need to be this big superstar.' Noel also didn't try to push her into music, quite the opposite. She had 'a brief stint playing the cello when I was about 11, and it's safe to say there is not an inherent Gallagher musical gene.' She added: 'My dad came to see a few of my recitals, and he swiftly was like, 'Maybe it's not for you.'' Noel's brother has been trying to help two of his kids follow in his musical footsteps. Gene, 23, has his band Villanelle who supported Liam on tour and have a new single out later this Summer (PLS REF). Lennon Gallagher, the eldest of Liam's sons, says his dad give hims tips, even thought his music so far has been more experimental than Oasis, featuring spoken vocals on stage. 'He doesn't hate it,' says Lennon, laughing. 'He's always been very supportive. Dad has given me some great pointers. One of the best ones is: Don't think about what you're doing when you're getting onstage. Just get up there and belt it out. It's a pretty perfect piece of advice, because if you ever think too much, you'll just get locked in your shell.' Gene said it was 'water off a duck's back' to be compared to his dad and he worries more about the reaction of his mum Nicole Appleton, of the girl group All Saints, to his music than his father. 'I'd be more nervous to play it to my mum. My dad hears my music all the time.' Oasis split following a backstage bust-up between the Gallaghers at Rock en Seine festival in Paris in 2009. But thankfully the brothers have now made up and it is believed Liam made the first move to patch things up. On X Liam said last year: "I called him but don't tell anyone as I don't want folk thinking I'm a soft lad and stuffs keep it between me n you cheers x." The reply laced with humour was typical of Liam's responses on social media. The pair will walk out on stage together, with their kids on the sidelines no doubt, on July 4 at Cardiff's Principality Stadium. There will also be dates in Manchester, London and Dublin as part of the tour.

Liam Gallagher in 'freefall' and fleeing to Spain to retire until intervention
A new book A Sound So Very Loud reveals how Liam Gallagher was on the verge of moving to Majorca to retire like the gangster played by Ray Winstone in the 2000 movie Sexy Beast - until his partner made him see the light To borrow a catchphrase from Liam Gallagher, we are all about to witness a comeback of biblical proportions. In exactly two weeks, the Gallagher brothers will take to the stage for the first night of the Oasis reunion. More than 1.4 million tickets have been sold across 17 UK dates for the tour, 16 years after the Britpop favourites' acrimonious split. But according to a new book, the reunion might not be happening at all if it wasn't for Liam's fiancee, Debbie Gwyther. In Ted Kessler and Hamish MacBain's new Oasis book, A Sound So Very Loud, the former recalls meeting Liam in a London pub in 2016, two years after his group Beady Eye disbanded. And he says we have Debbie to thank for persuading Liam to keep performing. Ted says: 'In the pub, over pints, Liam explained what had been going on for the past two years. 'Since he'd dispensed with the intricate management scaffolding that keeps rock megastars afloat, he'd spent a while in freefall.' Ted says that just like the gangster played by Ray Winstone in the 2000 movie Sexy Beast, Liam also considered retiring abroad. He explains: 'He had tumbled out of the bubble to such an extent that for a while, he considered jacking it all in and moving to Majorca, living 'Sexy Beast-style'. Debbie, who had previously worked at Beady Eye's management company, put paid to that.' READ MORE: Diana Ross opens up in rare interview - 'My five children really take care of their mum' The book reveals how Liam listened to Debbie's wise, albeit harsh advice. Liam explains: 'She just told me to stop being a d**khead. She got me out the house, introduced me to new people outside my world, got me doing new things.' The book adds: 'She also firmly reminded him that he was the greatest rock 'n' roll frontman of his generation, he was only 43 and there was lots of mileage left on his engine. 'Perhaps he just needed to work with different people – which is exactly what he did, going to LA and collaborating with songwriter-producers Greg Kurstin, Andrew Wyatt and Dan Grech-Marguerat, demoing and recording new songs, some of which Liam played via Debbie's laptop when we were drunk in the pub, miming the words and dancing as I listened through headphones, giving them a thumbs-up.' Liam, 52, and Debbie, 41, his former personal assistant, got together in 2014 – the year Liam divorced his second wife, former All Saints singer Nicole Appleton. He was married to actress Patsy Kensit from 1997 to 2000 and has four children – Lennon, 25, with Patsy, Gene, 23 with Nicole, and two daughters, Molly, 27, with singer Lisa Moorish and Gemma, 12, with journalist Liza Ghorbani. Liam's period of self-doubt came after five years with Beady Eye. The band formed in 2009 and was made up of Liam, former Oasis members Gem Archer and Andy Bell and drummer Chris Sharrock. They released two albums, Different Gear, Still Speeding in 2011 and BE in 2013 – but neither enjoyed anything like the success of Oasis. Both reached the top 5 in the UK album chart, but they had just one top 40 single with The Roller in 2011. A Sound Very Loud – dubbed the inside story of every song Oasis every recorded – also details other interactions the authors had with the band. Ted was with the NME when he went to Camden, North London, with the band in May 1994, three months before Definitely Maybe came out. He took them to famous boozer The Good Mixer, which was often frequented by musicians. 'Liam immediately spied Graham Coxon of Blur at a table and marched up to him, bombarding the introverted guitarist with aggressive bonhomie,' Ted writes. ''You're him out of Blur!' he boomed. 'Good band… sh*** clothes though'. 'They met again at the urinal, where Liam jostled the mid-flow Coxon, splashing his strides. 'An upset Graham complained to the landlord, who foolishly ushered Oasis out forever.' Later, the Gallaghers and their entourage got into a row at a rock venue with 'several dozen fans of a long-forgotten techno-punk group' who played that night. Ted writes: 'Confusingly, this dispute became physical and a bundle of goths, record company employees and perhaps some Gallaghers ensued. 'Once more, Oasis were shown the door, bringing the curtain down on our evening tog-ether. So I wombled off into London's orangey black, swaying at the night bus stop at 2am, wondering when the next night out with the Gallaghers might be.' Last week, Noel, 57, told pals the band sounded good in rehearsals. He and Liam will walk on stage together for the first time since 2004 on July 4 at Cardiff's Principality Stadium. There will also be dates in Manchester, London and Dublin on the UK leg of the tour. A Sound So Very Loud: The Inside Story of Every Song Oasis Recorded by Ted Kessler & Hamish MacBain is published by Pan Macmillan on July 3 costing £25 for hardback – ebook and audiobook also available. Shayne O'Cass's best bets and inside mail for Hawkesbury and Nowra on Tuesday June 17, 2025
Racenet form analyst Shayne O'Cass presents his best bets and inside mail for Tuesday's NSW meeting at Hawkesbury, plus tips for Nowra. â– â– â– â– â– HAWKESBURY TIPS BEST BET Race 6 No.1 CHARLEROI: Highest rated horse in this race off an impressive last start win. NEXT BEST Race 2 No.3 ALL SAINTS: Beaten a nose on debut; spelled, trialled like a bomb recently. VALUE Race 7 No.6 LIKE LUKEY: Ideally suited out to 1800m, third-up, at a favoured venue. QUADDIE Race 5: 2,8,10,11 Race 6: 1 Race 7: 6,8 Race 8: 2,4 JOCKEY TO FOLLOW Rachel King will be popular with punters to win the TAB Jockeys Challenge. HORSESHOE HILL (7) is a 2YO taking on the older horses but only five of them at most. This daughter of dual G2 winner Miss Rose de Lago was tipped out after finishing third to stablemate O' Ole and Memo in the Wyong 2YO Magic Millions on December 11. Smashing trial win on June 6. VANLEE (6) took a lot of ground off Manaajem late when runner-up at Wyong on New Year's Eve. Trialling well herself. LAND SPEED (2) has come back in fine order. BET: HORSESHOE HILL (7) to win. ALL SAINTS (3) was off the map on debut ($2.10 into $1.55) in a Kembla 1000m Maiden on February 8. Beaten a nose with no excuse. They did run 56.66s so not a bad effort in defeat. Spelled, trialled like a bomb (as usual) the other day. CELERITY (5), an $850,000 Easter Yearling, brings strong city form, black-type form in fact, to the provincials today. EL QASABI (1) has claims on a debut second, albeit a distant one. BET: ALL SAINTS (3) to win, quinella 3,5. REVERBERATES (3) is a valuable filly for later on given she is a granddaughter of Wrap Around, herself a daughter of Beach Gown. This Brad Widdup-housed local has placed at three of her six starts, going within inches of a win at Wyong last time. MALBORK CASTLE (1) is a half to Showtime and Sweet Idea. The son of Castelvecchio is trained by Castelvecchio's' trainer Richard Litt and has placed at six of his eight starts. So ready for 1800m today! BET: REVERBERATES (3) to win, quinella 1,3. AUTUMN HEIR (7) is a possible/probable to go to Nowra today. Go well down there! That being the case, it would open the door for his stablemate JAMARNI (8) who is galloping towards his first win. Could make the case to argue that he turned in a career best last start; Zac Lloyd sticks. EMPRESS TSARINA (6) finished third in that same race at Kembla on June 3 where Jamarni was second. If you like one, you almost have to like the other. BET: AUTUMN HEIR (7) to win but if scratched JAMARNI (8) to win. NOTHING BUT NET (11) was $31 for no good reason when he came down the middle and over the top to win a 1000m 2YO Maiden at Goulburn on debut. The downside is, it wasn't an especially strong affair but the upside is, he won, he will surely take improvement from the day out and he is at home this time. That said, QUEEN'S RHAPSODY (2) 's form is far superior in terms of depth but she still has to go 1300m (first time) from the outside alley. BET: NOTHING BUT NET (11) each-way. CHARLEROI (1) was a $360,000 Easter purchase. Gelding now but still worth mentioning that he is a Dundeel out of a stakeswinning Snitzel granddaughter of Monsoon Wedding. The Sara Ryan-trained 3YO was third on debut in town, fourth on the Kenso after that and then went to Kembla and won, not by far, but still with some authority. VIA VARALLO (8) led throughout to win easily at Nowra after running third to Maison Louis no less! BET: CHARLEROI (1) to win (best bet), Daily Double 1st leg 1, 2nd leg 4. LIKE LUKEY (6) has a tidy C.V of 12 starts, three wins, two seconds and four third. Those three wins came in succession – one by four, one by two-and-a-bit and the third by a length-and-a-half here at her only previous visit. Expecting her to bounce back, big time, off the last start Rosehill run. INCANTATION (8) is a consistent Goldolphin mare who held her ground admirably in town last start. Always looked like a mile-plus type and it's 1800m today. BET: LIKE LUKEY (6) to win, quinella 6,8, box trifecta 5,6,7,8. INOUE (4) is a Peter Snowden-trained 3YO and follows Wayupinsthesky, Thousand Years and Vomo Island as residents past and present at his High Street stables. Inoue won first-up at Gosford then went to a Class 1 at Kembla and won it too only this time he beat King's Secret! Wish the stablemate CASSIEL (2) wasn't here to challenge because they are hard to split now. Cassiel is fast and a last start winner. THE GREY (6), with a home-track advantage. is presumably fitter for his first-up fifth. BET: INOUE (4) to win, quinella 2,4. â– â– â– â– â– NOWRA TIPS

Holly Willoughby looks happier than ever as she poses in her bikini and cuddles two pals
HOLLY Willoughby looked happier than ever as she posed in her bikini and cuddled two pals. Presenter Holly, 44, couldn't stop smiling as she sat on the floor with her arms wrapped around Director of Artist Relations at Universal Music, Shiarra Bell, and All Saints star Nicole Appleton. Wearing her hair in a carefree messy bun, Holly looked relaxed and glowing as she embraced her pals on holiday in a mystery destination. Posting the snap to Instagram, she kept the caption simple with a single red heart emoji, tagging both friends. The former This Morning host's celeb buddies filled the comments section with their well wishes. Emma Bunton wrote: "There's my gorgeous girls!!!" while Lisa Snowdon said: "The cutest pic!" and Christine Lampard inserted a string of heart-eyed emojis. It's been an incredibly testing few years for former ITV treasure Holly, with her work life as she knew it crumbling around her. For the first time in years, she has been left without a TV show - and she's now at a serious crossroads and is poised to start a new chapter in her career. Once the princess of ITV, she is currently 'showless' with her beloved channel for the first time in 21 years. With her time on ITV's This Morning now a distant memory, Holly was looking likely to land a series of lucrative deals with the streamers. But in a further blow - her new Netflix show, Bear Hunt, with Bear Grylls, has been axed. The news comes just weeks after Dancing On Ice was axed and on top of that, she has made the decision to step down from You Bet!, leaving Stephen Mulhern to present alone. She is set to appear briefly in the next series, but will no longer be hosting it. It marks a huge shift in her work with ITV. One option for the star could be a reboot of Record Breakers, which Holly's husband Dan Baldwin is already working on. There is currently no channel attached to the show, which is in its very early stages but sources say it would be a "perfect fit". A telly insider said: "Record Breakers is likely to be a prime time hit and it would make perfect sense for Holly to take the reins. "She has worked alongside Dan before and the pair know what it takes to make great telly." She has also been linked to a reboot of Cilla Black's best-known show, Blind Date. The Sun told this week how the ITV classic is being revived - and in a surprise twist will go to global streaming service Disney+. Producers want to keep the tradition of a top British female host, with a shortlist including Claudia Winkleman, Holly Willoughby and Davina McCall. Sources say Holly is also being looked at for a new Channel 4 talent show, currently dubbed Secret Singers, which is searching for raw, undiscovered singing talent. Love Productions - the creators of The Great British Bake Off and The Piano - have already put out a casting call. An insider said: "This is likely to be a heartwarming and hugely popular show for all the family. "They are looking for a the perfect host to make sure it's a huge success and it could be perfect timing with Holly's break in TV." Holly returned to TV last year after 18 months - she had stepped down from presenting work entirely after discovering a plot to kidnap and murder her. Evil Gavin Plumb was given three life sentences for planning to break into her home, then sedate, abduct and kill her and her husband. It came just months after a very public falling out with her co-host Phillip Schofield, which ended with him leaving the show in May 2023. Changes are happening behind the scenes, too. Holly has a big decision to make with her media company Roxy after it was revealed she owes a huge amount to the tax man. Roxy was set up in 2008 by Holly with husband Dan Baldwin. But it wasn't until 2022 that Holly filed the first annual accounts for her all-female ran company after she made the decision to leave former talent agency YMU in 2020. Roxy Media deals with TV show 'production activities', according to its listing on Companies House. But just three years on, Roxy has now been slapped with a winding up order. Action against the company was launched in January and the court was told Holly's company has already settled a bill of £377,000 with the taxman, with an unknown amount still owed. In recent weeks Holly has turned to close friend Christine for support. Like Holly she has enjoyed long stints with ITV, but has also stepped away from them at times. Sources have said that Holly is inspired by Christine's career and her work-life balance and is hoping to emulate that herself. They said: 'Holly is ready for a rebrand and has definitely been looking at those around her for inspiration.' Addressing her incredibly difficult time, Holly recently told The Sunday Times Style Magazine: 'It's been tough. There's no way of sugar-coating it.' Discussing why she felt moving forward was her only option, Holly said: 'Sometimes things go wrong, but you have to keep going for it because that's all you can do.' And it looks like Holly is moving forward - but not before making some serious changes. 4 4 4

£70 Zara dress that 'looks great with a tan' looks 'just like' designer style
Zara shoppers have fallen for a 'classy' black dress they love for weddings and special occasions Zara has delighted shoppers with a "gorgeous" black dress that's been compared to a designer style. Fashion fans loved the £69.99 Halter Ruffle Long Dress when it was showcased on TikTok by @thescousestylists. Georgina and Jess, who are known for sharing styling tips on the account, dedicated a video to Zara's dress. In the popular post, they said: "I just love this. I think if you've got a special event coming up, it's gorgeous." They praised the "fab" dipped hem, suggesting "it would be lovely on holiday" or for a special occasion. The pair thought the dress would look stunning with gold accessories. "I just love all the ruffles on it," they said. They added that it would look "very nice" with a tan. The duo thought it could be an ideal pick for weddings, as black is an increasingly popular choice for guests, provided it doesn't clash with the couple's colour scheme. Shoppers loved the dress. A viewer replied: "That's a gorgeous dress!" An excited commenter added: "Classy!!" Someone else said the style reminded them of another brand's dresses. The comment explained: "They've similar allsaints over £230!" While it wasn't clear which style the shopper meant, they could have been referencing AllSaints' £279 Sienna Ruffled Maxi Dress. While there are differences between the dresses, there are arguably many similarities. Both black maxi dresses have a similar silhouette, with a high-low skirt and ruffle detailing. You could likely wear either dress to the same event with the same styling choices. In the product images, both brands modelled their dresses with matching black shoes, though Zara opted for wedge sandals while AllSaints opted for black cowboy boots. However, it's worth noting that the Zara dress has a halter neck shape. In contrast, the pricier style has an asymmetrical design with an off-the-shoulder sleeve. There are also fabric differences. Zara's product description reads "Halter neck long dress with buttons. Ruffle detail. Inner lining. Asymmetric hem. Side zip fastening concealed in the seam." Both the lining and the outer shell are 100% polyester. AllSaints' product description reads: "We've got a thing for ruffles this season. Our statement Sienna Dress is full of volume and layered with five heavily ruffled tiers that create a high-low hem. "A bit of drama, but always playful – we love this dress for all seasons." The lining is 100% recycled polyester, while the shell is 74% lyocell and 26% polyamide. AllSaints also offers a Nat Ruffled High Low Maxi Dress, which has a high-low skirt but presents a different look thanks to its long sleeves, on sale for £167 from £279. There's also a £229 Cavarly Tiered Ruffle Maxi Dress with a scooped neckline and high-low detailing. Regardless of which dress shoppers prefer, both the full-priced styles offer Zara shoppers a significant saving on a similar style. Zara's dress is almost £160 cheaper than the Cavarly Tiered Ruffle Maxi Dress and over £200 cheaper than the Sienna Ruffled Maxi Dress. Zara also offers a selection of ruffle dresses, but they don't share the high-low feature. For instance, there's a £99.99 Long Ruffled Dress - ZW Collection and a 39.99 Metallic Thread Midi Camisole Dress, which offer a different take on the maxi dress style. Unfortunately, the Zara dress is currently out of stock in most sizes online. However, shoppers can locate their nearest Zara store here.
