More ad-hoc sellers popping up online ahead of durian harvest
With the upcoming durian harvest, more enterprising ad-hoc sellers are popping up online. Veteran durian businesses say they have witnessed more online sellers looking to make a quick buck. Quality assessment scheme has helped to reduce landed housing construction disputes
Legal disputes between home owners and landed property builders have fallen by around 10%, since a quality scheme was launched last year. The Micro Builders Association's BuildTrust quality assessment sets standards for areas such as floors, walls and electrical fittings. Contractors can get their projects independently assessed against the scheme and receive a report as proof of quality. The industry association said up to 40% of its members have got themselves into sticky situations with home owners over the past three years. Many are over defects identified by unregulated third-party checkers. Alexandra Anand reports.

Singaporean Havard students can continue studies back home at local universities: MOE
Singaporean students at Harvard can continue their studies at one of the six local autonomous universities back home, should they wish to do so. The Education Ministry says the local universities stand ready to support them. The move comes after the US government barred entry of foreign students studying at Harvard. Alexandra Anand reports.

URA proposes 5 sites for conservation, including Jurong Hill Tower and Dakota Crescent
