The Romanian had been Nerazzurri youth team coach for several years, and at several levels. Therefore, Chivu has seen some of the top talents from Inter's academy up close. Teenage striker Francesco Pio Esposito made his first ever first-team appearance for Inter yesterday. The 19-year-old came off the bench against Urawa Red Diamonds. However, the club's Sporting Director confirmed that Inter exercised a buyback clause. Now, Cristian Chivu will have to decide whether he sees Pio Esposito or Stankovic playing any part as early as next season. As the Corriere note, it is not out of the question. Particularly considering that, as academy graduates, these youngsters could provide flexibility in Inter's Champions League squad.
