Daisy May Cooper and Alan Carr among stars to quit popular ITV quiz show
The ITV quiz show Password - which is based on the US quiz show of the same name - is set for a major shake-up in its second series. Team captains Alan Carr and Daisy May Cooper will not be returning due to conflicting schedules. Instead, a revolving roster of celebrities is expected to replace the duo in future episodes. Stephen Mangan, star of The Green Wing and The Split, will continue to host the show, which offers a £10,000 prize. The next series of Password is scheduled to begin filming in July and air later this year.

Popular ITV show sees a huge shake-up as two big name stars QUIT ahead of new series launch
ITV show Password has suffered a huge shake up as two big name stars have quit ahead of the second series launch. The gameshow, hosted by Stephen Managan, sees members of the public have to guess passwords, with the help of celebrity team captains Daisy May Cooper and Alan Carr. But Daisy and Alan are reportedly not returning for the new launch as Stephen will head the show alone, according to The Sun. While the pair made a brilliant duo fronting the programme, it is believed that they are too busy this year to keep the commitment. According to the publication, the second season will see a revolving panel of celebrities instead. A source said: 'Password did brilliantly on its first outing and it's always a shame to make changes, but Alan and Daisy are both incredibly busy and diaries just wouldn't align. 'Something had to give and sadly it was their roles as team captains. 'But there's an exciting line-up of celebs ready to take part instead and everyone's confident that the format works without them.' MailOnline has contacted ITV for a comment. While the show has only aired one season, it has already seen some backlash. ITV viewers furiously slammed the broadcaster's newest gameshow as 'the worst thing on TV' after it's pilot aired. Fans have already spotted a huge blunder with the format of the programme, meaning those at homes are unable to play along. Viewers were puzzled by the fact that the passwords were being announced by a voiceover to those at home, so there seems to be no way of trying to join in and guess yourself. Before the contestants got stuck in, host Stephen explained: 'The game is simple. Get your partner to guess the password before your opponent does. 'You can only give one-word clues. No made up words, no hand gestures, no miming, no running, no ducking, no bombing... If your partner gets the password on the first clue it's worth 6 points, then 5 points for the second clue and so on. 'First team to 25 wins the round, win two rounds and you'll go through to the final where you'll be playing for our £10,000 jackpot.' However, fans were left less than impressed with the concept and took to social media to brutally slate the show after its launch, writing: 'WTAF is this new #Password game show? What a load of old b*******. Juvenile beyond belief. Saturday night prime time everybody.' '#password I mean @ITV must be bloody desperate... this isn't even a 3pm quiz show, why is it on prime time on a Saturday?' 'I love a good quiz BUT Password is the worst thing I have seen on TV for years #Password.' 'How the f*** is this prime time TV? Should be on at 3pm if at all #password' 'I had to keep watching to see if it got any better. It's like an episode of The Apprentice where the contestants had a day to create a tv quiz show with no budget.' Fans were left less than impressed with the concept and took to social media to brutally slate the show after its launch 'Why ask if we can guess the #Password when some guy announces it at the beginning of each round, then you show it on screen??? What's the point in this show if we can't play along at home?' 'Why the hell is it called password.. pathetic #Password.' 'We are just watching people playing a rubbish game. I'm out. #password' 'I'll put my bets on that #password isn't on next week, surely people aren't still watching. It's hardly @1PercentClubITV levels.' 'Cant even play it cos you tell us the answers, s*** #Password' 'Not saying ITV has lost its way, but #password is the lamest thing I have ever seen. How it got commissioned, let alone scheduled for Saturday prime time is beyond me.' But, fans are in luck as the disappointment comes just before two beloved ITV quiz shows will finally be returning to ITV after a long-running break. Bosses have announced that both Tipping Point: Lucky Stars and Family Fortunes will be making a comeback, much to the delight of viewers. And fans don't have long to wait as the celebrity spin off of Tipping Point is set to kick off on September 8 at 7pm on ITV1. Meanwhile Family Fortunes will be soon making a come back for its fourth series in early 2025, after it was originally pulled from screens in 2002 - but it won't be hosted by the show's original presenter, Les Dennis.

ITV has scrambled the dial on its quizshow Password and made huge changes ahead of series two. I can reveal that Alan Carr and Daisy May Cooper will no longer be part of the show, with just host Stephen Mangan remaining. 7 The brilliant duo stood as team captains on the popular gameshow. But for its second run, a revolving panel of celebrities feature instead. A source said: 'Password did brilliantly on its first outing so it's always a shame to make unnecessary changes, but Alan and Daisy are both incredibly busy and diaries just wouldn't align. 'Something had to give and sadly it was their roles as team captains. 'But there's an exciting line-up of celebs ready to take part instead and everyone's confident the format works without them.' On each episode, Alan and Daisy teamed up with a civilian contestant. Each was given a secret word - the password - which their team mate had to guess based on a one-word clue. There was a £10k prize on offer in the final. The new series, which comes from the makers Blankety Blank, Britain's Got Talent and QI, will film this July and air later this year. The source added: 'If anything, the variety of celebrity players will help keep the show fresh and exciting.' Hugh's up for the cup HUGH BONNEVILLE's Ian Fletcher was last seen bossing the London Olympics in BBC mockumentary Twenty Twelve – but now he's moved to football in Twenty Twenty Six. The six-parter will see Ian and his team jet off to Miami to be in charge of 'integrity' at the 2026 FIFA World Cup. 7 He'll be joined by Day Of The Jackal's Nick Blood, Ten Percent's Chelsey Crisp, Designated Survivor's Paulo Costanzo and The Handmaid's Tale's Stephen Kunken. Speaking in character as Fletcher, Hugh said: 'I'm thrilled at the prospect of joining the Oversight Team in Miami for this unique event. 'To borrow a soccer analogy, this is a rare opportunity to set out your own goals and then score them on the global stage.' The series will air on BBC One and iPlayer. Catch a catfish with C4 SINGLETONS are being put to the test in a new Channel 4 show where they have to work out which of their matches is actually a pal pranking them. Find The Catfish, the first series for the broadcaster's new digital channel, Channel 4.0, will follow one person as they go through five blind dates. But two of their friends will be secretly pranking them, using voice-changing tech to try to convince their friend they are the real deal. The six-part series will be joined on the new channel by The Intern, which offers amateurs a once-in-a-lifetime internship, and quiz show Family Face-Off, which sees contestants go head-to-head with their families. The shows will all be available to stream this summer. Sun is out for Rivals DISNEY+ show Rivals is getting a helping hand from our very own newspaper. In snaps taken from the set of the second series, which is currently filming in Wiltshire, a cast member is seen flashing a 1980s copy of The Sun during a photo call for Conservative MP Paul Stratton, played by Rufus Jones. 7 Last time, Paul was seen going through a mid-life crisis after becoming embroiled in an adultery scandal. But he looks to have got his act together for series two and is seen, vying for votes outside a town hall. TV firm owner, Lord Tony Baddingham, played by David Tennant, Alex Hassell's Rupert Campbell-Black and Bella Maclean's Taggie O'Hara were also in the new scenes. The second series, based on Dame Jilly Cooper's hit novel, is expected to again follow the rivalry between Tony and Rupert. Season one ended with Tony left for dead after being hit with a television award by American producer Cameron, played by Nafessa Williams during a row. 7 Roisin's return ROISIN GALLAGHER is heading back to our screens as recovering alcoholic Shiv Sheridan in The Dry. It has been revealed that filming for the third and final series of ITV's hit comedy got under way this week. The last run ended with Shiv leaving behind her dysfunctional family and saying goodbye to her artist ex-boyfriend, Jack (Moe Dunford) before flying off to Melbourne on her own. In the new eight-part series, she finds a new love interest, Daryl, played by Rick Donald, after meeting him at a recovery meeting.

Amanda Holden looks incredible in a plunging swimsuit as she larks around with Alan Carr in Corfu
Amanda Holden put her incredible figure on display in a plunging swimsuit on Tuesday as she enjoyed her time in Corfu with Alan Carr. The duo have been living it up in Greece while filming their BBC renovation series, which has been renamed Amanda and Alan's Greek Job following their similar shows in Spain and Italy. Yet the pair managed to squeeze in time between building work to hit the pool, with the pair filming a funny video lip-syching to Jhené Aiko's song, Sing To Me. In the clip, Amanda, 54, wowed in a zip up tangerine one-piece as she cradled Alan, who was wrapped in a towel, 49. She also slipped into a white broderie anglaise summer dress as she headed out for walk with her co-star. Alan also took to Instagram, sharing a selfie as he celebrated his 49th birthday. He looked unrecognsiable in the snap, with his signature smile replaced and with jet black hair. Yet he admitted he had Photoshopped the image, then sharing another picture of the face superimposed over a nude image of Elizabeth Hurley. He captioned the post: 'For those saying the last photo was photoshopped - here's a full body one!' Amanda and Alan have been jetting back and forth to Greece to film their series, after the Heart Radio host criticised the series' name, their travel arrangements and suggested their next show should be shown on Netflix instead. The mother-of-two no doubt shocked bosses as she took a cheeky swipe at her show with the BBC and complained about 'urine soaked dressing room floors'. As they discussed the show on Alan's travel podcast, Alan recalled: 'Do you remember we had to wee in behind bins and sh*** like that? I'm dreading it.' Amanda recalled: 'I have a pile of clothes on me at the back. I've got all of Alan's shirts, like 15 dresses I'll change into, three hats lined up on the back.' She continued: 'And then we get out and I get changed in loos where there's like wee on the floor, beach huts. That's behind the scenes.' Alan added: 'But the thing is people don't understand there's no... The toilets aren't working when we get have to go and use someone's toilet or a portaloo.' Amanda agreed: 'We have to beg for... I mean, how many umbrellas have you put up over various countries when I've had to wee behind them? 'You'll notice that there's hundreds of costume changes for us as well. So we travel, for some reason, the company that we do it with, always hire the smallest cars. 'And I'm in the back with Christian, who does our hair and make up. You're in the front doing the music selection.' After admitted they didn't like the name of their new series either, Alan suggested it should be called My Big Fat Greek Renovation. While Amanda confessed: 'It's not good. Well, we should argue with the BBC about that.' 'But I've always wanted to visit Japan. It's like the place to go. I want to go in the spring,' she added. 'And I just think maybe Alan, we should just go to Netflix with our next show, Big in Japan with Amanda and Alan. Yeah. Love it. That idea is with them.'

Stephen Fry gives an insight into his 'emotionally violent' stint on Celebrity Traitors
Stephen Fry gave an insight into his 'emotionally violent' stint on Celebrity Traitors this week. Celebrity Traitors will once again be hosted by Claudia Winkleman with the line-up of contestants making their way to Ardross Castle to kick off filming. The comedian, 67, likened his time on the series to 'a Chinese foot massage' as he praised the programme. Speaking on The Show People podcast, Stephen explained: 'It was a bit like a Chinese foot massage. You know it is absolutely agony but you sort of want to do it again. It is emotionally violent but you kind of love it. 'Obviously, I can't say a word about what is in this recently recorded celebrity version I suppose. I am certainly not telling you if I am a traitor or a faithful. I am one or the other. 'I have said no to any number of Strictlys and Get Me Out of Heres as it is just not my kind of thing. But this, I watched the first and second series and it is such a clever game.' He added: 'It's so extraordinary what it does to the psychology of the individual. And I just thought it would be really interesting to play it. And what an opportunity to do so. And that's what I found.' The celebrities who will transform into Traitors and Faithfuls include a variety of actors; Stephen, Ruth Codd, Celia Imrie, Tameka Empson and Mark Bonnar. Comedians Alan Carr, Nick Mohammed, Joe Wilkinson and Lucy Beaumont will also take part, joining singers Paloma Faith, Cat Burns and Charlotte Church. Also confirmed for the show are presenters Jonathan Ross, Clare Balding and Kate Garraway, Olympic diver Tom Daley, rugby player Joe Marler, historian and writer David Olusoga and YouTuber Niko Omilana. Missing from the confirmed line-up was actress and comedian Jennifer Saunders, who was heavily rumoured to be taking part. Comedian Lucy became the last star to sign up for the show on Monday following her shock split from fellow comedian Jon Richardson. The Award-winning funny woman, 40, is said to be keen to 'make more of a name for herself' with audiences and will be heading off to the show's Scottish castle to begin filming within the next few days. A source told The Sun: 'Lucy is a massive fan of the show and is so excited about getting stuck in at Ardross Castle.' They added: 'After her split from Jon, she has been working really hard to make more of a name for herself and Celebrity Traitors is the ideal opportunity.' MailOnline have contacted Lucy's reps and BBC for comment. As excitement increases for the Celebrity Traitors, BBC bosses took extra precautions to keep the cast under wraps ahead of its reveal, following a series of leaks. According to The Sun, executives put in place a military-style operation to transport the all-star cast to Ardross Castle. Instead of flying into Inverness Airport from their homes across the globe, the celebrities will travel by several means including rail, air, car, and boat. And a no-fly zone is officially in place over host Claudia 's Highlands HQ to stop drone photographers from securing any images. A source told the publication: 'For a show with secrecy and shocking plot twists at its heart, navigating the celebrity version has been a real puzzler. 'Casting the likes of TV presenter Kate Garraway, former rugby star Joe Marler, and singer Paloma Faith creates a situation which is a lot more open to leaks and gossip than recruiting a call centre manager from Liverpool or a retired opera singer. 'So execs have worked really hard to lock down every inch of the production.' The source added that instead of a simple travel process, celebrities will arrive via various methods of transport. The source also claimed that a no-fly zone has already been put in place to stop any preparations from being snapped. A spokesperson for the BBC declined to comment.
