Why Alabama's 2026 class is set to skyrocket up recruiting rankings If you were to take a look at the Alabama Crimson Tide's current position in the 2026 team recruiting rankings, then it might not be something you necessarily expected to see in mid-June. As to why, that is because Alabama's 2026 recruiting class currently sits at No. 45 nationally according to the latest 247Sports Team Rankings with only seven commitments, as of Tuesday, June 17. However, do not be surprised if that ranking changes in the very near future, as things are certainly in place for the Crimson Tide to skyrocket up the class rankings over the next two-to-three weeks. As mentioned previously, Alabama's 2026 recruiting class currently holds only seven commitments, which is among the fewest of any SEC team. Of those seven, one is a five-star prospect in cornerback Jorden Edmonds, while the remaining six are all considered four-star's. Lying ahead for the Crimson Tide however are numerous upcoming commitment decisions that will be made in the coming weeks from some of the nation's elite prospects, many of which have Alabama among their list of finalists. For example, here are a few of the top Alabama targets who are announcing their commitments in the next two-to-three weeks, along with their rating and position, according to the 247Sports Composite recruiting rankings. The Georgia Bulldogs have won 31 straight games in Sanford Stadium, which is the the longest active home winning streak in college football. The Bulldogs impressively have 20 consecutive home wins against SEC opponents. Georgia has a challenging 2025 home schedule, so the Bulldogs' winning streak could be coming to a close. Georgia claimed college football's longest home win streak after the Alabama Crimson Tide lost to the Texas Longhorns on Sept. 9, 2023. Advertisement In 2024, the Bulldogs capped a fifth consecutive undefeated season at home with a dramatic eight-overtime win over the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets. This game was easily Georgia's most improbable win during the streak. Georgia came back from a 17-point halftime deficit and at one point, Georgia Tech had a 98.5% chance to win. Georgia's last home defeat came on Oct. 14, 2019, to South Carolina Gamecocks. The Gamecocks won 20-17 in double overtime. The last team to defeat Georgia in regulation at home was Georgia Tech back on Nov. 26, 2016. Georgia has won two national championships and two SEC championships since their last home defeat. On Tuesday, just weeks after taking his official visit to Iowa State, Thomalla decommitted from the Big 12 power. On the same day, he committed to the University of Alabama. Alabama was the last of 12 teams to offer Thomalla but unquestionably had enough of an impact to sway his decision. The four-star quarterback in the 2026 class earned MaxPreps Nebraska Player of the Year honors last year, throwing for 3,663 yards, 47 touchdowns, and three picks. Barring another decommitment, he will join a Crimson Tide roster flush with blue-chip quarterback talent. This season, head coach Kalen DeBoer will welcome five-star passer Keelon Russell, while former five-star prospect Ty Simpson will likely start the season under center.
