Initial schedule for new QSL season announed
Al Rayyan meet Al Sailiya in opener on August 14Tribune News Network Doha Defending champions Al Sadd will lock horns with Qatar SC in the opening week while Al Rayyan will play the opener against Al Sailiya when the Qatar Stars League season 2025-26 kicks-off on August 14, the QSL announced on Sunday. The schedule for the first leg of the new season has been announced with air-conditioned stadiums hosting the first six weeks of the 22-week league. For now, the dates, venues and match times of the first three weeks' games have been set. The schedule will be updated from Weeks 4 to 11, following the draw for the 2025-26 AFC Champions League Elite, AFC Champions League Two, and the Gulf Club Champions League besides the programme of the Qatar national team. QSL stated, there will be coordination with clubs participating in overseas tournaments and their matches rescheduled on specified dates in the calendar, to support them in all their participations. Al Sadd won the title last season finishwing with 52 points, two points ahead Al Duhail (50 points), while Al Gharafa ended up as third with 41 points.

Qatar: Realty trading volume exceeds $274mln in a week
Doha: The volume of real estate trading in sales contracts registered with the Real Estate Registration Department at the Ministry of Justice during the period from June 1 to 5 amounted to QR911,760,894, while the total sales contracts for the real estate bulletin for residential units during the same period reached amounted to QR99,348,178, bringing the total to over QR1bn. The weekly bulletin issued by the Department shows that the list of properties traded for sale included vacant lands, residential homes, apartment buildings, commercial buildings, shops and residential units. The sales operations were concentrated in the municipalities of Doha, Al Rayyan, Al Wakrah, Al Dhaayen, Umm Salal, Al Khor and Al Dhakira, Al Shamal, and Al Shahania in addition to the areas of the Pearl, Lusail 69, Ghar Thuaileb, and Legtaifiya. Doha, Qatar: The total value of real estate transactions recorded in sale contracts with the Real Estate Registration Department at the Ministry of Justice during the period from May 25 to May 29 amounted to QR948,988,281, while the total value of sale contracts for residential units, according to the real estate bulletin for the same period, reached QR132,983,443. According to the weekly bulletin issued by the department, the list of properties traded included vacant plots of land, houses, residential buildings, commercial shops, a residential compound, a residential tower, a petrol station, and residential units. The sales transactions were concentrated in the municipalities of Al Rayyan, Doha, Al Daayen, Al Wakrah, Umm Salal, Al Khor, and Al Thakhira, as well as in the areas of The Pearl Island, Lusail 69, Leqtaifiya, Umm Al Amad, and Ghar Thaileb. Al Rayyan win Women's Volleyball League title
Al Rayyan eves won the 2024-25 Qatar Women's Volleyball title with a 3-1 win in the final ove Al Arabi at the QVA Hall on Tuesday. Al Rayyan finished the season unbeaten. The presentation ceremony was attended by Ali Ghanem Al Kuwari, President of the Qatar Volleyball Association, Ms. Amna Barakat Al Kuwari, Board Member and Chairperson of the Women's Sports Committee at the Association, Hamad Al Shaiba, Head of Sports Programs at Qatar Foundation Education, and Ms. Hessa Lahdan Al Mohannadi, Physical Education Coordinator at Al Khor Model School for Boys. Amir awards champions Al Gharafa, runners-up Al Rayyan following Amir Cup final
DOHA: His Highness the Amir of the State of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani has awarded the winners, Al Gharafa and runners-up Al Rayyan, of the2025 Amir Cup final played atKhalifa International Stadium. Al Gharafa beat Al Rayyan 2-1 and were crowned champions for the eighth time in the tournament's history. At half timeAl Gharafa led 2-0. HH the Amir handed the Al Gharafa players the cup and gold medals, and handed the Al Rayyan players the silver medals. Al Gharafa's Ahmed Al Janahi won the best player award in the final match which was attended by over 38,000 spectators. The match was attended by Personal Representative of the Amir HH Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad Al Thani, HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Khalifa Al Thani, HE Sheikh Jassim bin Khalifa Al Thani, Speaker of the Shura Council HE Hassan bin Abdullah Al Ghanim, and a number of Their Excellencies the Sheikhs, ministers and senior officials. It was also attended by President of the International Olympic Committee Dr Thomas Bach, Minister of Youth and Sports of the Syrian Arab Republic Mohammad Sameh Al Hamid, a number of heads of Arab and international sports federations, members of the press and media, and football fans.
