'All Options On The Table': Iran Warns US Against Direct Intervention In Israel Conflict

Last Updated: The warning underscores Iran's readiness to respond forcefully if the US is perceived as playing an active role in military operations against it. Iran has issued a strong warning to the United States on Thursday, cautioning against any direct intervention in the ongoing conflict with Israel. In remarks that signalled heightened tensions, Iran's deputy foreign minister said the Islamic Republic was prepared to defend itself in the event of further escalation, asserting that 'all options are on the table" if Washington chooses to back its ally militarily. The statement from Iran comes amid rising tensions and a deepening regional crisis, with Tehran cautioning that American intervention could escalate. The warning underscores Iran's readiness to respond forcefully if the US is perceived as playing an active role in military operations against it. 'If the United States wants to actively enter the field in favour of the Zionist regime, Iran will have to use its tools to both teach a lesson to aggressors and defend its national security and national interests," said deputy foreign minister Kazem Gharibabadi, according to state TV, reported AFP. 'Naturally, our military decision makers have all the necessary options on the table," he added. 'Recipe For All-Out War: Iran's First Warning Iran had earlier issued another warning to the United States on Thursday, mentioning that any direct intervention in support of Israel could ignite a full-scale regional conflict. 'Any American intervention would be a recipe for an all-out war in the region," Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmail Baghaei said during a live interview with Al Jazeera English. Reinforcing the warning, Iran's ambassador to the United Nations in Geneva, Ali Bahreini, stated that if Tehran determines the US is directly involved in attacks on its territory, 'we will start responding to the US." Iran: US involvement in conflict with Israel risks ‘all-out war'

Iranian leaders issued a stark warning early Wednesday that any involvement of the U.S. military in its conflict with Israel could lead to an 'all-out war.' Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmail Baghaei, in an interview with Al Jazeera English, said 'any American intervention would be a recipe for an all-out war in the region.' The message comes as the Trump administration appears to be readying the military to potentially aid Israel in its assault against Iran. President Trump in recent days has not ruled out that possibility, while pressuring Tehran to surrender its nuclear capabilities. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth has also ordered the deployment of 'additional capabilities' to the Middle East as tensions rise in the region. Israeli officials on Monday claimed 'aerial superiority' over the Iranian capital city. Trump doubled down on the sentiment in a post online Tuesday. 'We now have complete and total control of the skies over Iran. Iran had good sky trackers and other defensive equipment, and plenty of it, but it doesn't compare to American made, conceived, and manufactured 'stuff,'' Trump posted on Truth Social. 'Nobody does it better than the good ol' USA,' he added, as the U.S. has helped Israel to intercept missiles from Tehran. Trump administration officials have cautioned Iranian forces not to target U.S. soldiers or any property as at least 585 people have been killed and 1,326 others are injured in the last five days of fighting, according to the Washington-based group Human Rights Activists. 'President Trump and the Administration have taken all necessary steps to protect our forces and remain in close contact with our regional partners. Let me be clear: Iran should not target U.S. interests or personnel,' Secretary of State Marco Rubio said last week, after Israel launched its surprise attack on Iran's nuclear facilities and missile sites. The attack killed several top leaders and nuclear scientists, sparking a counterattack from Iran. Iranian officials on Saturday said they would target ships owned by the U.S., U.K. and France in the Black Sea if any of the allies jump into the conflict, per the Islamic republic's state-owned media. Leaders said they will continue to work on the enrichment of uranium backing the development of a peaceful nuclear program, as Trump warned that 'unconditional surrender' would be required to end the violent strikes on Tehran — not just a ceasefire agreement. Iran pulled out of the latest round of talks with the U.S. over its nuclear program, pledging to engage in further war operations as the tit-for-tat strikes continue. 'The operations carried out so far have been solely for the purpose of warning and deterrence,' said Gen. Abdul Rahim Mousavi, Iran's army chief, said, as reported by The Associated Press. 'The punishment operation will be carried out soon.'

‘A recipe for all-out war': Iran warns US against direct involvement in Israel conflict

Iran has issued a direct threat to Washington, warning that any US involvement in Israel's escalating air assault could ignite a full-scale regional war. 'Any American intervention would be a recipe for an all-out war in the region,' Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmail Baghaei said in an interview with Al Jazeera English on Wednesday. He did not elaborate, but the remark came amid overnight Israeli strikes in Tehran and growing fears of a wider conflict. Israeli warplanes as per a report by AP, targeted facilities used for uranium centrifuges and missile production. A massive explosion rocked the eastern Hakimiyeh neighbourhood of Tehran, home to a paramilitary academy of the Revolutionary Guard. At least 585 people have been killed in Iran, including 239 civilians, since the bombardment began on Friday, according to the Washington-based group Human Rights Activists. Iran's ambassador to the United Nations in Geneva, Ali Bahreini, said Tehran had already communicated its red lines to Washington. 'We will react whenever it is needed,' he said, as quoted by Reuters. 'We are closely following the level of involvement of the US. We will respond if the United States crosses [the red line].' He accused the Washington of being 'complicit in what Israel is doing' and said Tehran would factor US actions and words into its response strategy. 'We are vigilant about what Trump is saying. We will put it in our calculations and assessments.' US President Donald Trump on Tuesday, demanded Iran's 'unconditional surrender' and threatened Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei in a social media post, warning that the US knows where he is hiding. However, he added, there were no plans to kill him 'at least not for now.' Iran's military leaders in response have promised more attacks. 'The operations carried out so far have been solely for the purpose of warning and deterrence,' said Gen. Abdul Rahim Mousavi, Iran's army chief, as per AP. 'The punishment operation will be carried out soon.' Israel said it intercepted 10 missiles overnight and claimed Iranian strikes are becoming less frequent. Iran has not explained the drop, but Israel has targeted key launch infrastructure. So far, Iran has fired more than 400 missiles and hundreds of drones, killing at least 24 in Israel and injuring hundreds more. Some missiles struck apartment buildings in central Israel, forcing repeated evacuations. In Tehran, panic spread. As per a report by AP, thousands fled the city, long gas lines formed, and shops, including those in the iconic Grand Bazaar, remained shut. Iranian authorities have largely remained silent about the ongoing bombardment.

New Israeli strikes hit Tehran as Iran warns that US involvement would risk 'all-out war'

DUBAI, United Arab Emirates, June 18, (AP): Israeli warplanes pounded Iran's capital overnight and into Wednesday as Iran launched a small barrage of missiles at Israel with no reports of casualties. An Iranian official warned Wednesday that that any U.S. intervention in the conflict would risk "all-out war.' Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmail Baghaei delivered the warning in an interview with Al Jazeera English, saying "any American intervention would be a recipe for an all-out war in the region.' He did not elaborate, but thousands of American troops are based in nearby countries within range of Iran's weapons. The U.S. has threatened a massive response to any attack. The latest Israeli strikes hit a facility used to make uranium centrifuges and another that made missile components, the Israeli military said. It said it had intercepted 10 missiles overnight as Iran's retaliatory barrages diminish. Israel's blistering attacks on Iran's nuclear program and military sites began with a surprise bombardment on Friday. A Washington-based Iranian human rights group said at least 585 people, including 239 civilians, have been killed and more than 1,300 wounded. Iran has fired some 400 missiles and hundreds of drones in retaliatory strikes that have killed at least 24 people in Israel and wounded hundreds. Some have hit apartment buildings in central Israel, causing heavy damage, and air raid sirens have repeatedly forced Israelis to run for shelter. Iran has fired fewer missiles as the conflict has worn on. It has not explained the decline, but it comes after Israel has targeted launchers and other infrastructure related to the missiles. All eyes are on Washington, where President Donald Trump initially distanced himself from the Israeli attacks but has hinted at greater U.S. involvement, saying he wants something "much bigger' than a ceasefire. The U.S. has also sent more warplanes to the region. The Washington-based group Human Rights Activists said it had identified 239 of those killed in Israeli strikes as civilians and 126 as security personnel. The group, which also provided detailed casualty figures during 2022 protests over the death of Mahsa Amini, crosschecks local reports against a network of sources it has developed in the country. Iran has not been publishing regular death tolls during the conflict and has minimized casualties in the past. Its last update, issued Monday, put the death toll at 224 people killed and 1,277 others wounded. Shops have been closed across Iran's capital, Tehran, including in its famed Grand Bazaar, as people wait in gas lines and pack roads leading out of the city to escape the onslaught. A major explosion could be heard around 5 a.m. in Tehran Wednesday morning, following other explosions that boomed earlier in the predawn darkness. Authorities in Iran offered no acknowledgement of the attacks, which has become increasingly common as the Israeli airstrikes have intensified. At least one strike appeared to target Tehran's eastern neighborhood of Hakimiyeh, where the paramilitary Revolutionary Guard has an academy. Israel says it launched the strikes to prevent Iran from building a nuclear weapon, after talks between the United States and Iran over a diplomatic resolution had made little visible progress over two months but were still ongoing. Trump has said Israel's campaign came after a 60-day window he set for the talks. Iran long has insisted its nuclear program was peaceful, though it is the only non-nuclear-armed state to enrich uranium up to 60%, a short, technical step away from weapons-grade levels of 90%. U.S. intelligence agencies have said they did not believe Iran was actively pursuing the bomb. As the conflict entered a sixth day, neither side showed signs of backing down. "We will show the Zionists no mercy,' Iran's supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, said in a post on his official X account. "A storm is passing over Tehran,' Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz posted. "This is how dictatorships collapse.' Trump demanded "UNCONDITIONAL SURRENDER' in a post on social media and warned Khamenei that the U.S. knows where he is hiding but that there were no plans to kill him "at least not for now.' Trump and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu spoke about the evolving situation over the phone on Tuesday, according to a White House official. Iran offered no immediate response to the president's posts, but the country's military leaders vowed that Israel would soon see more attacks. "The operations carried out so far have been solely for the purpose of warning and deterrence,' Gen. Abdul Rahim Mousavi, the commander in chief of Iran's army, said in a video. "The punishment operation will be carried out soon.' Israelis began returning to the country on flights for the first time since the country's international airport shut down at the start of the conflict. Two flights from Larnaca, Cyprus, landed at Tel Aviv's Ben Gurion International Airport on Wednesday morning, said Lisa Dvir, an airport spokesperson. Israel closed its airspace to commercial flights because of the ballistic missile attacks, leaving tens of thousands of Israelis stranded abroad. The conflict has disrupted flight patterns across the region.
